My partner has a lung condition so it was a bit frustrating that they are able to smoke in the area that closely intersects 5 or 6 eating areas. If you need to avoid smoke, best to sit inside unfortunately. Otherwise it is a nice place if you like to people watch as the walkway into this arcade goes between the restaurant and the outdoor eating area.

There was 19 of us in total, the food was great, the staff were attentive and I loved that we had an enclosed area to dine, where I could play my own music & have the table decorated the way I envisioned. These were delicious and tasty. For entrees we had the octopus, oysters and pumpkin. The octopus was good and the pepper jam and saffron aioli were really nice, however I think there was too much of this on the plate. The pumpkin was average nothing special. The oysters were also good. For main we had the pork belly. It was larger in size than we thought but I’m not complaining! The pork was well cooked and the crackling was crispy. They offered us some smoked salt to go with the pork which also added more flavour to the meat. The carrot purée was nice, however once again I thought there was too much on the plate, it was out of proportion to the rest. The red wine jus really completed this dish well and really tied it all together. Service is friendly and reasonably quick. Prices are definitely expensive but it is a nice restaurant. What a awesome night. We booked at 7, but food arrived at 8. They were crazy busy. The tbones were ordered medium-rare but were definatly on the medium side. The manager changed them over and we got beautiful medium rare tbones. Meat was awesome quality. Sides of onion rings and chipies and cos lettuce were also great. They wine special for that night was pairing superbly with the steaks. All in all they deserve a 4.3. Steak was over cooked but they promptly replaced it to a to a medium rare. Bread and butter was good, can't say the same with the tartare, very sweet, no salt and taste like bottled ketchup. For mains we ordered the scotch, rump, onion rings, salad, onion rings. I just wish there was a larger version of that steak as I could have eaten several more as it was that nice! The chips were good too. We also ordered the Charred corn ( smokey chilli yoghurt, parmesan and crispy shallots) which worked well with my food. Our son had the Cheese burger (Angus beef patty, cheese and ketchup) and it came with chips also and a scoop of ice cream which was his highlight of the night. As it was our anniversary, the restaurant gave us a lovely sorbet desert to share. The flavours I wouldn't have personally picked if I had options however they tasted incredible and the 2 flavours worked so well together. The waitresses were polite and pleasant. Overall the service was great. We had 1 small issue as my wife kept getting bitten by mosquitoes which was impacting our experience. However, when we brought this to the attention of the staff, they were apologetic and even went out of their way to go and purchase Stingose gel to give to my wife and son to use and keep. A lovely gesture and my wife and I really appreciated it, which left us very impressed with everything. We were welcomed in like old friends and say our table where the concept of the restaurant and the menu were explained to us in such a friendly and accessible manner. Really appreciated the effort to make it vegetarian specifically for us, however we did pay $135 each and was expecting a fine dining experience. We had never been to fine dining/ high class restaurant before, we felt so out of place BUT the food was amazing. My partner had the lobster 🦞 and I had the kangaroo. We were given a few complimentary appetisers. Highlight was the soft shell crab 🦀 appetiser. We also ordered the abalone starter which was nice. The wine selection is incredible. My partner wishes you to extended you whiskey range. Staff were friendly and professional. The trainee that was on was doing a wonderful job. The baklava cheesecake was tasty however the bombe Alaska dessert didn’t arrive until 30mins after all the other desserts. The service was good and staff were well-trained. The ambience was somewhat taken away by the screens blocking the balcony so we weren’t even able to see the sunset we had specifically come to Bib and Tucker to see.

They were happy to make it “up” in a coupe glass instead of over ice in a short glass, which I really appreciated. We shared the baked brie to start. It was okay, which made me a bit nervous about the mains. Thankfully, the mains were excellent. We had the ribeye, the potato, the asparagus, and the beetroot risotto with goat’s cheese, all delicious. Service was lovely overall, though it would’ve been great to know a dish was unavailable before we spent 20 minutes deciding on it 😆 I also love the variety of seating (booths, high tables by the window, and standard tables) and the extensive wine list. I'm happy to say Massimo's wine recommendation was stellar and that I am now looking to buy this wine to enjoy with family and friends. Points also go towards the brooding design and atmosphere of Shadow. Food-wise, the oysters were ok, the scallop was actually great but the real let down was the prawn dish. The bisque was watery and flavourless and the prawns a tad tough. The asparagus dish was also just ok, though "scorched", there was not much of a smoky flavor. (I suppose the allure of char is also in the contribution of smokiness which I felt was missing from this dish.) For the price and promise of such a beautifully designed space and fantastic staff, an improvement in the food would definitely lift Shadow's game.

We had a snail and soufflé for entree. Both good flavour, soufflé served with ratatouille was very light and delicious. For main fish of the day which was red emperor with cream sauce and fresh cooked peas. Such a fresh and light flavour is absolutely amazing. The relaxed ambiance is great for catching up with friends or even for a date. The music wasn't too overpowering which meant we didn't have to yell to have a conversation. The lamb ribs with chimichuri fell off the bones and very tasty. The jalapeno wings also hit the mark. Thanks to Ron and his wonderful & friendly team for a great night out. Food was first class, service was attentive and the venue itself is a standout for Perth. The atmosphere and decor was lovely and clean. The wait staff are friendly and somewhat attentive. The food was fresh and cooked well. We had a number of dishes from beef tatare, tuna tataki, wagyu tomahawk, chips, Mac and cheese and desserts. The food was good but I didn't think it was exceptional or worth it for the price.
