The hostel seems to attract a particular type of traveler who don’t engage much with others unless you fit their mold. If you’re not part of that scene, don’t expect warmth or friendliness. We mostly enjoyed our stay until the final morning. Unfortunately, we overslept and were 30 minutes late to check out of our room. At no point that morning were we reminded of checkout time—only to be abruptly woken by an irate cleaner. Instead of handling the situation calmly, the cleaner berated and pressured one of the reception staff until he issued each of us a fine of 500 Lek. The fine was obviously made up and something we definitely did not agree to while checking in. We stayed our first few nights in the country here, and after 2 weeks of traveling around the country we went back for a last evening to say goodbye because we loved it here so much. The kitchen is great, there is a nice common area and lots of large lockers to store your belongings. It was a bit difficult to find at night because you can't see the sign clearly and it requires going down a small alley so make sure to follow the instructions on Google maps to get there. I stayed in a private twin room and had a fan to keep me cool. The bed was incredibly comfy and the WiFi worked well. There were no curtains though so it meant I was woken up quite early by the sun and had to be careful when getting changed. Staff were all friendly and helpful - they don't have a printer but were able to suggest a few places nearby that I could use. I would happily stay here again, and highly recommend visiting Le Bon for delicious treats which is just around the corner!
