We visited on an afternoon on a Monday in November and we felt we had the place to ourselves. After driving over 12 hours from Big Bend Texas and arriving at my less than adequate hotel room I was literally on the verge of tears. We went to one place nearby that supposedly had late night food and they said they were packed and sent us over to Cowgirl. I was anxious as I was approaching because it's clearly a bar and I'm looking for food. Then I was told they close in 10 minutes and I almost wanted to give up and just leave but I was so hungry having only ate road trip snacks the whole day. So we proceeded to the bar where we could order food and they were busy and distracted and didn't notice us. I was about to cry and leave and just hit the road again since I didn't want to stay in the hotel. But thankfully they noticed me right as I was giving up. We didn't really have time to peruse the menu and I hate being the person that is ordering food right at closing time but this was like desperate circumstances. They recommended tacos or burgers so we got a bacon cheeseburger and a charred fish taco. Yes I was starving and on the verge of an emotional breakdown so perhaps I was biased but this was some of the best food I've ever had in my life haha. The taco was outstanding though I wish we had both got tacos but I was ordering for both of us and we were at the end of a rope for the day so I just made a split-second decision. The bacon cheeseburger was also outstanding but the taco really hit the spot. We shared both of them. I really appreciate their kindness to make us food right at closing time because it gave me the energy to be able to drive all the way back home to Colorado which ended up being an 18-hour drive for me. Their food sustained me and gave me willpower. Highly recommended to anyone who likes yummy food and the atmosphere was lively and entertaining if that is your vibe as well.

It's definitely a touristy spot and the menu tries to cover a lot of ground so there is something for everyone. We tried the green chili philly and a small side salad (casaer). The philly was OK, but mostly the green chile part was good, the steak was a bit under seasoned. Another person in our group got a patty melt and didnt seem so thrilled. Service was very good for how busy it was. For the prices, its definitely OK in a pinch but with a little more planning we could have found a better spot.

As with a few of my blogs, the place I pop into and decide to review are based solely on just walking around downtown Santa Fe and seeing the sights and shops and sculptures. Cassey and I hit a point where we were settled on food and coffee for the day but wanted to top our tanks off with beer. I pulled up Google and Yelp to see what the nearest place was to grab some drinks and Santa Fe Brewing was a short walk away. We approached from the wrong side of the building and tried going through a door that was ajar but quickly realized that was not the right entrance (or maybe it is, we didn’t venture beyond the door) and made our way to the other side. Ahhh, it was finally time for some beers as we entered and were greeted by a friendly bartender. Having fallen in love with their Social Hour beer at Cowgirl BBQ, I was surprised to see they had four version of the beer; Social Hour, Social’er Hour, Slightly Social, and Social Experiment. I quickly got a flight of those plus a sample of Santa Fhazy. Cassey got a Santa Fhazy as well and we took our drinks outside and enjoyed the sunshine and relaxing while we drank our beers. I’m one of those people who will drink something and think its tasty or not without trying to pinpoint all the flavors or notes. Anywho, I do remember liking the other varieties to some degree but nothing hit quite as well as the basic Social Hour. We went back in for another beer and sat outside in the shade so we wouldn’t risk getting a bit burned like we did at The Golden Mill. Sitting outside while drinking some good beer with a good friend was a great way to relax for the afternoon. There was a food truck out there but it wasn’t open for some reason, despite the hours on the side indicating they should be slinging orders. With this being one of their auxiliary locations, I wonder if they have even more on tap at their other locations. That is a question I will answer if I ever get to go back to Santa Fe… which I fell in love with the area during my week there… so the possibility of going back is pretty good. P. Great vibe, tasty food options, and the wine was excellent. Leslie was our server and she was incredible!! Friendly, welcoming, attentive..! The restaurant is an easy walk from the La Fonda Hotel. No reservation was needed at 8 pm when we arrived. We were searching Google Maps for a decent restaurant for a spur of the moment dinner. Started walking to our restaurant of choice but peeked into The Herve Wine Bar. We stayed and are glad we did. Prices were reasonable and food selection, although not extensive, it was diverse. Hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did.

Les Combes winery is the largest winery in New Mexico. Their wines are incredible. Honorable mention to the limited release Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, and the Malbec. Every wine I had was exceptional and the atmosphere was cool, comfortable, with all of the best tunes. Angel made the experience as memorable as it was. He was so helpful, sweet, and knowledgeable. He is such an asset to this place. I’m so glad I got to experience his hospitality because it certainly made my trip!

There was a live violinist the night we were in and I can't say enough how the music added to the upscale ambiance. Though it retains humbleness by offering real live staff who understand what they are serving...be it a wine flight, salad or another fabulous menu item.
