However the condition was ok, tee boxes were in desperate need of a roll and in my opinion it looks as though no members can repair a pitch mark properly as the amount of dud patches and bumps is shocking. Unfortunately on the day we played, the captain had a match on, we’d been booked on to the same tee time and spent the next 4hours and 40 mins waiting on every tee box. All in all for £45 it’s a good price but I wouldn’t go back. Staff friendly, captain needs a boot up the bum for pace of play and maybe fatten the tees.

One of the friendliest welcomes received by staff and members from the pro shop, the catering and members checking in that we had a good round. Highly recommended. Having not played the course for probably 15/18 years the layout remains absolutely brilliant. Some lovely tight, tree lined tee shots and tee shots where you could hit long iron through to driver, decisions to be made. Some absolutely lovely looking Par 3’s all very different. Some elevated tee shots including a Par 5 which is always a treat. Fantastic layout and really varied off the tee and into the greens. Greens were brilliant and a real test, you’ll need to be sharp with you 5/6 footers and two putts are certainly not a given around there from longer range. A solid test of all the golf shots especially around and even more so on the greens. But a layout that is really strong. But more than anything else it the people were really sound and I’d recommend a trip on this even more than the course and that’s saying something. A lovely welcome into the clubhouse and great portions for a great price of really decent food too. Definitely worth stopping for a quick bite and a drink. Shout out to the bit of cake with the coffee too, perfect for a sweet tooth like myself. I’m sure I remember the edging around the bunkers and the paths etc being a little better years ago that would be my only criticism. It’s not bad, but this place deserves perfection really. But don’t let that out you off bunkers played really well. Highly recommend.

It's an excellent venue; great size room suitable for up to 140 people, good size dance floor, bar, patio overlooking the golf course. I don't play golf but the views are amazing. Pat, the Bar and Catering Manager was very accommodating to meet requirements, the food that John, the chef, cooked and served for us was really tasty and the resident DJ Dave Frisby was top notch. The people have been so accommodating and helpful from the moment we arrived and made the pre golf greetings to the club warm and welcoming. Be warned; there is plenty to punish you if you are too wayward. Greens are true and a good test of the short club skills. The reason I've only given 3 stars this time is for the general condition of the course considering it's now the start of April. Even with top tracer it's pretty poor . Balls are awful, 70%OK but rest shockingly bad . No automatic tee's and the rubber tees you have to switch over yourself are in poor condition , if you can find some . The team are absolutely fantastic, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. We are a difficult group to cater for as we need disabled access, pureed, vegetarian and lactose free food but the team do it all cheerfully and to a fantastic standard. they allowed us to have a hoist delivered to ensure we could meet our citizens needs and the disabled loo is perfect as its a good size and has a shower if it was needed. From the friendly welcome and tour on arrival to the bar staff after the round it was an excellent visit and I will definitely be returning. The golf course itself is outstanding with the over riding memories being not only the bunkers that you can see (which are everywhere) but also the hidden bunkers that are behind others. That said the bunkers add to the experience and really make you think about your shots without making the round too difficult. Well worth a visit and I would highly recommend it to anybody.
