Having said that it was a decent price, the course had a very picturesque par 4 that just begs you to shot for it's 270 yard par 4,or will you bail out to the left because you may not be able to carry the 220 yards straight ahead of you and over the water 💧! The pro-shop was quite efficient, they bummed my single T-time @ 12:45 to join the group of 2 some earlier, so I got out early, that's quite nice. The 2 youngsters I played with were quite nice. The fairways and greens were very excellent for this time of year, early fall? The round went just right, it could be faster providing it's on a Thursday, little over 4 hours. Glad there were no maintenance people driving around and I didn't see any transients walking, may be it's not on the weekend. The bunkers are still not fine and of course there're NO rakes. I only went in 1 time and I took it out of the bunker to chip. Anyhow, it was a great round with the pleasant group and other golfers. I took all the holes pictures with the SwingU satellite map. I went here last year with some friends, made a mistake and bought a 5 weekend rounds after 1PM for $125. This is not a bad golf course, just flat and boring. The clienteles is one of the negatives things, some have no golf etiquette what so ever or even being considerate. The dress code is never enforced here, people with plain offensive T-shirts, drinking beers, getting drunk and holding everyone back. I bought the card so I had to use it 3 more time this year, the clientele is the same, but today was the worst with the Golf Course management, they had the maintenance people driving around, watering the GREEN while people are putting , didn’t wait for them to finish the putting, I called and pro-shop said it’s their maintenance guys doing their job. I know this is San Jose where anything can happen, but this is quite a disrespectful to the players. I have never seen any golf course like this in all the golf courses I’ve played for years. There were transients walking on the golf course waiting for a golf ball to hit to make trouble because they moved slowly across the fairways, I saw a bicycle rider on the golf course. None of my rounds here was faster than 4:30 hr, average 5hrs. The positive: Layout and design is fun. Lots of risk / reward holes and shots. This course does not feel like it winds back and forth on itself. Each hole has a unique look and feel. The back 9 has more personality with elevation changes. The setting in the foothills is beautiful. The greens were in good shape. The fairways were ok. Some dead spots and other troubled areas. Green is very fast and challenging but fair. The course is not beginners friendly but as long as you have a decent command of the game you will have fun. Some fairway bunkers were to be considered as waste areas more than proper bunkers, this explains the bad reviews of a course in poor condition (it is not). The other 5-6 birdie putts were far from the hole so I blamed those on my putting skills. Another star off because the cost of rental clubs were $45, quite pricey yet they didn't have stiff shafts for me eventhough I emailed the course in advance when I booked online. The set didn't have proper wedges, the clubs were really old... for comparison I paid $35 for rental clubs and got titleist 917 driver and AP2 irons (all Stiff too) with vokey wedges at another course of similar quality. No refund on club rentals eventhough the man behind the counter tested the putter after I returned them and concured with my complaint. The golf carts do not have GPS so make sure you play with a local golfer or bring your range finder. To recap. Beautiful course. Great quality golf can be had with amazing views. Challenging undulating fairways with undulating and tiered fast greens. Would not recommend for complete beginners. If you're a visitors to SJ without your equipments please look elsewhere.

By far, this venue is the best wedding venue in the bay area. The setting is gorgeous, and the banquet hall overlooks the golf course and you can see the man made waterfalls from the side. The only way to really describe this course is BIG. It feels large. Meaning lots of elevation changes and it covers a large area. I am a Mike Strantz fan. Tobacco Road is one of my favorites. The only hole on this course that resembles Tobacco is the par 3 #4 hole. There is kinda an additional 19th hole, but it uses the green of #18. But it is a really fun golf shot from the top of the water fall. There were a few imperfections on a couple holes from ground squirrels, but they have put new sod down on the fairways so it will recover quickly. Greens were in good shape and running true. Pool table in separate room next to back door parking area. Ordered medium rare burger which came way over cooked at well done even after i specifically specified. That was very disappointing. Burger was still great with quality bacon and fries were awesome. Price however at $17 I expected better attention to be paid to my food. It wasn't a $9 burger so obviously i expected better. Service however was good and servers friendly so another chance is in order. There's no happy hour so be prepared that there's no specials. Prices are a little on the high side but still within reason compared to many competitors. As far as bar goes they were very busy but yet still friendly. Overall a decent place to hang out.

If you want to be micromanaged,then come here otherwise pruneridge, the san jose muni, or anywhere else is your better bet. By the end of the night my skating muscle memory had returned and i was back in the 1980s again. If i had any stress at all it was gone after 3 hours of skating. I bought a membership and will make this a regular thing. The gym canf touch roller skating. $15 charge to get in but i ended up buying a season all pass for $99. The skates are good quslity for a roller rink. I will definitely invest in some new quads though. The DJ was great. The people and staff really friendly. So glad they opened this place. Imagine having to text someone multiple times a week just to nail down a lesson date / time. * We both had reasons for rescheduling that came up, but Leigh was often unresponsive to requests to reschedule / availability for several days * Leigh refuses to take lessons within 7 days of each other, yet didn’t have flexibility elsewhere in his schedule. * 31 days was the longest period of time in between lessons. I received 4 lessons in 2 months despite my best efforts to have them at least once a week. Completely unacceptable for any student looking to improve in golf. * Leigh originally assured me that he would get me in on Saturdays - but immediately after I already paid, it became clear that Saturday lessons would be an exception as he pushed for weekday evenings instead. Does NOT state his no-refund policy until you're actually dissatisfied (and want a refund): * He NEVER even mentioned no-refunds before or immediately after I paid for the package. The only place this is mentioned is on the receipt AFTER you have already paid. Very dishonest and sneaky business practice. * Tried to reach an amicable agreement with Leigh by offering 2X the rate of those 4 lessons compared to the packaged rate yet Leigh refused to issue a refund. * I only received 4 hour-long lessons (of 35 lesson + 2 on-course lesson package) until I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Drastic drop-off in quality of instruction: * Leigh gives 99% of instruction sitting down behind his computer desk while he looks at videos of your swing. He is physically incapable of standing for a long time given his bad knees (which I was NOT made aware of when I signed up for the lesson package) and can’t actually show / demonstrate to a student what to do. He'll just keep showing the same video from the early 90's of some random golfer who has a "perfect swing" and tell you to swing closer to one of the pros on tour. Not that helpful. * Leigh didn’t come prepared into our lessons. He gave me some good things to focus on in the first two lessons, but then just continued to ask me to do the same drills with no clear plan of action for upcoming lessons. * He was often tired in our lessons and would state to “not expect too much out of him today” * He spent the majority of the lessons telling overly drawn-out and unnecessarily long stories to get a point across that could have been communicated in plain english. Inadequate technology / low-quality facility: * Camera - Leigh uses a single slow-motion camera from a 45 degree angle behind the student whereas just about every other golf instructor or YouTube video or any "how to videotape your swing" article online tell you to use a down-the-line camera or a face-on camera view of the student. The latter two views are used is because they help pin-point the issue with a student’s swing. His videos don't have sound. * Mats / Net / Balls - the mats / net / balls are all very old. A student has to stand on one mat while hitting off of another and they shift in position over the course of the lesson. The net is heavily frayed. The balls are all very old and are scattered everywhere. They'll leave marks on your irons. The overall size of the hitting bay feels claustrophobic.
