Out of all the courses I've played on the valley, i never had an issues with slow play. But, the young dude helping the Marshall told us we would have to skip the next 3 holes to catch up. Problem was, we were being held up by a group of walkers on the very next hole. No harm, no foul. I told him we wouldn't be skipping ahead since we paid to pay 18. Then the marshal came over and apologized. All in all, I'll be back to play for sure. Course is worth it and I hit my highest record drive on the 18th.

What a gem. I have to start with the surrounding environment - OMG!! Quail Hollow sits at the foot hills within the Stewart Gulch Park. Which means there are endless views of mountains which leaves you in awe. The course is an adventure in its own right. The first hole plays like any other parkland course, then there's the second hole - a steep climb to a 180 yd par 3 - where you're hitting across a deep valley onto a green that seems to sit on top of a mountain. A missed shot will require you to pitch straight up. Of course, when you go up, you have to come down. The third hole is a downhill par 4 dog-leg with a blind green. And that's much of the course. Every hole has an interesting feature that requires you to play conservative with accuracy, whether it be the winding dog-legs, rolling hills, mountainous views, blind fairways, perched greens, tall grasses, or ponds, you'll be sure to play every club in the bag. Sometimes it's smarter to leave the driver and go to the 3W off the tee. Hole14 plays up into a steep valley. Thought it's 300 yards you'll need to play this like it's 400 because you're playing this hole straight up. On the way down is number 15, a narrow 170 yard par 3, sandwiched between a mountain side and the 14th, with a hundred yards of shrubs and tall grass, where you'll have to go down a few club lengths to accommodate for the slope. Everything is well groomed and maintained. The practice areas aren't wow, but are adequate for a quick pre-game warm up. And the pro shop has everything you would expect from a wide range of balls, to clothing and gear. And the staff are Boise friendly and laid back. So are most of the people playing the course. Well worth the price. There's not much to stay around for after your round. Maybe a beer and then head home. As I was travelling to Boise, it's a ten minute UBER to downtown Boise.

One of my favorite courses I've ever played. Quail Hollow is beautiful and so much fun to play. So many holes ask you to decide between driver or iron on this fun layout with some great doglegs, water hazards to carry, or just a narrowing fairway. One of the most challenging in the Boise area, not just because of the elevation changes that come with being in the hills (unlike most other courses around that are mostly flat), but because of how many holes bend around water and how many large bunkers there are. Warms Springs is a public, parkland style course that's a short drive from downtown Boise, that sits between the Boise River and the beautiful mountains of Idaho. It claims to be a championship style course. I would argue that it's not. This is a beginner to a high-handicapped player friendly public course. The course is generally long, flat and forgiving. It can get boring at times if you're a better than average golfer. The tee boxes are oddly spaced out, and show some wear. The bunkers are shallow with very hard sand. The greens are generally in good condition and playable. The pace of play is slow. We played closer to five hours. This largely to do with the variety of players this course attracts. The practice areas are nothing to write home about and are barely useful to warm up. And the pro shop is also very basic, and cluttered. I definitely wouldn't stick around for a beverage after. We initially joined because the club was presented as a family-friendly environment. While the main clubhouse dining felt a bit stuffy initially, we were genuinely excited about the prospect of a new, casual dining option with 'The Landing'. They were able to move me back a few spots to allow me to hit a few warm up balls. The course it's self was in decent condition for the amount of rain received lately. It was neat seeing some US Open type rough at 3+ inches (some people complained but i thought it was neat and not as hard as TV makes it look). The fairways were still good with no plugged lies. The greens, with the added moisture, were very receptive. Well placed hazards and bunkers with options for good pin positions. Fun course no matter the weather conditions. Could be dialed to suit any weather oddities
