Peaceful & lush with intermittent sea views. Walk up the steps or get the funicular to the summit of E. Hill enter the park then follow the signs to The Glens. The trail starts at the far end of the park and goes all the way to Fire Hills. Varied paths take you through woods and open fields and across the river. Breathtaking sea views but be warned it's seriously up and downy in a few parts with steps down into the glen and up the other side. A great workout and more rewarding the further you go, around 8-10 miles there and back. Absolutely worth the effort though. Benches and good signage along the way. If you're craving a bit of green this is the place to go without having to get in the car.

There is free parking available although we walked up the hill from the seafront which was only a short walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful and entrance was free. Whilst at the museum, we visited the History of Hastings exhibit, the Agatha Christie exhibit and the permanent collections. What an absolute pleasure it was to wander around and to see such a varied and interesting selection of items. There was lots of written information, laid out in a way that made it interesting and enjoyable to read. Everything flowed really well and we felt able to take our time and really enjoy the experience. Although we didn't have any children with us, it was clear that the museum have really thought about how to engage children in the experience, providing lots of interactive elements, play areas and a huge range of books. I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone visiting Hastings and we would return again if passing, especially for new exhibits.

Definitely not worth a day trip in our opinion. It isn't situated near town so if you're parking in town and plan to walk up, it is a long trek especially uphill too. The facility itself is well thought out – there’s a well-maintained toilet, easy access to fast food joints nearby, and a car park close to the seashore which makes visiting very convenient. And so grateful to you both, Lindsey and Rik, for having the vision and the resolve to create such an outstandingly beautiful place and then to offer it up for others to enjoy. Our breath was well and truly taken away! Looking Glass Lodge is stunning both inside and out. For us, to have a weekend so thoroughly immersed in nature and to be able to relax in that glorious atmosphere of understated luxury was memorable almost beyond belief! We haven't come across windows like that before but to think that you've used them to further respect the wildlife that the Lodge shares its space with is mind blowing. Sadly we didn't see any badgers but were entertained watching the acrobatics of the squirrels in close quarter and were feted with many varieties of birds including the nightly chorus of owls which was fabulous. We loved it all so much and have booked again for a post Christmas winter experience and we can't wait. Thank you.

By lunch time we got some Fish & Chips from local restaurant (heaps of options to choose from), went on occasional walks to explore the beach (it's a fishing beach, which means lots of boats and fishing equipment along the beach). It's windy and no sand, just pebbles, which is fine, had a lovely day there and totally recommend to anyone who wants to connect with the ocean and just relax with a nice view.
