My family & I were there the majority of the day & still had so much left to explore. The park has a playground area, picnic areas, wonderful lookout view, many trails for hiking or biking & is pet friendly (as long as they're leashed). They have cabins available to rent as well as a campground. There are rest areas located throughout containing restrooms as well as trashcans & also benches or picnic tables for needed breaks along the trails. The trails are accessible, well maintained & visibility marked. The views are absolutely amazing! If you go to the lookout spot, don't pass up stopping by the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum & Memorial to spend some time chatting with Mr. Oceola Jack Byrne about the history of the park as well as Huntsville! He is an absolute gem & has quite a few very interesting photos/ historical artifacts in his hut station to show off! This is one state park that you don't want to miss out on!

The museum as a whole is very educational and informative about all things space. Not only does it go into the natural wonders of the universe, but also the history and present of space technology, looking into the future via the space camps. I liked the show in the theater as well as all the interactive exhibits. Be sure to grab a map, as there are exhibits in two buildings as well as outside. Even if the weather is not good for touring outside, there are still plenty of things to look at inside the buildings. The staff were extremely pleasant, helpful, and passionate about their work. The food in the restaurant was very delicious. The gift shop also has lots of neat things for sale and you don't even need admission to shop there if you just needed a quick unique gift for someone. This is by far one of the best things to do in Hunstville. I reccommend this experience for all ages.

This is the first time that we've been since they redid the HVAC system. I seems like this museum had a lot more artwork in the past. Would have really appreciated it more if they displayed true art instead of copies that were printed off like a poster and displayed just to fill up empty space in the museum. I don't feel it was worth the admission price that they charged today.

There are a few short easy trails that circle the preserve and a long paved walking trail for runners. The Hays Nature Preserve 1.8 mile trail was partly flooded when I went in March blocking off the southwest portion of the trail. There were a ton of fishers using the lake. Pretty peaceful walk at sunset and it wasn’t too crowded. A great place to visit for a brisk outside walk to get some exercise and fresh air.

All of the staff were amazing amd so friendly with our field trip kids. The kids loved it and had so much fun but to me it was a little overpriced for what it is. There were a couple of the play areas shut down the day we went that we wished we could've enjoyed. But to me it was just okay. They had a water Lego table, several areas for the kids to build using different types of items such as foam Legos, wooden slats, gear tables and things of that nature but our 8 year old wasn't at all interested in any of that. They had a milk the cow station as well as a play veterinarian setup which was probably our daughter's favorite thing to do of the day. Her other favorite was the play kicthen/dining area. Other than that there was a pirate ship where they could raise the flag, a couple of smell this and guess what's inside and feel this to guess what's inside but I wasn't impressed. They had a talking tree which was creepy to my 8 year old. Other than that it was just wall around and look at stuff. It might be worth it if it were a rainy day and you just really wanted to get the kids out of the house, but to me I'd rather spend my money elsewhere doing something my little would find more entertaining but it wasn't bad, I just wouldn't rave over it. But the staff were phenomenal!!!

The surrounding rubber fender strip was in great shape. Cleats were plentiful. The ships store was low on some stock being late October, the end of their season. There is not a restaurant on site. While there, my boat hauler called and said he would not be there before my scheduled fly out. The electric switch controlling his trailer brakes had failed enroute and he was waiting on the part. I explained this to the marina and they said, no problem, we’ll keep an eye on your boat until he gets here. Even though weather conditions weren't great, what a beautiful place. The trail was well maintained.The hike was moderate and peaceful. The hardwoods and pine canopy made for a shaded walk. Fossil Bench Trail. Christmas Holiday off, so I decided to go for a hike. Since I been to various trails on Monte Sano and most local trails in Madison, I looked up local hiking trails on All Trails. The Fossil Bench Trail look like a good trail to try out so I pack my gear and drove out to the Wade Mountain Nature Preserve at 6998 Pulaski Pike NW #6946, Huntsville, AL 35810. The first mile of the trail is paved which makes it a good trail for dog walkers. Once you get past the first paved mile of the trail you begin the Fossil Bench Trail which is rocky and was very muddy due to the recent rain. But fortunately I wore my hiking boots and despite the wet, muddy trail it was an enjoyable rustic hike. The trail is slightly elevated and becomes more rocky as you get go higher up in the mountain. Even though the trees have dropped their leaves for the fall season it is very serene and scenic. With the leaves leaving the trees bare you actually focus on the unique details in the forest that can often be over looked. The vibrant colors of the moss and fungus stand out in the forefront of the monotone colors of the trees. There were trail areas that were covered with water that made it challenging to traverse. The rain has also made the soft areas on the trail slippery mud and can be several inches deep so I would recommend wearing sturdy hiking boots. At the end of the trail there is a very peaceful waterfall. The waterfall was flowing pretty well but definitely not a raging rapid. The waterfall make the rugged, muddy track throughout the trail worth the effort.

The staff and the people presenting the shows are really great, and it’s obvious they are passionate about their jobs. However... if you go here expecting an actual planetarium show, you will be greatly disappointed. Off the bat, you can tell this place is sadly underfunded, but they are doing their best with what they have. There is no lights, videos, cool audios and visuals like you would expect from an actual planetarium, but instead is just google slide shows and someone explaining each slide and talking about the topic like a lecture. It’s nice to attend one of these and sit through a slide show with PowerPoint if you want to just listen and learn. It’s usually interesting I guess, but honestly it was very boring without the visuals, and lights spread across the dome like you would expect. :( kinda disappointed overall. I hope this place gets a lot more funding so they can put on actual planetarium SHOWS (and not PowerPoint lectures). But I’m giving this place 4 stars because I want this place to thrive, I hope people continue to support this place, and the people are energetic and happy to spread knowledge / talk about astronomy. ❤️

There is always four boxes of rings of which is what these girls play for and they are going to get a bling, bling ring and they go out on the fields and all are acknowledged with hearing their name called and run to their coach to be given that little bag with that ring in it. 4 teams, one Gold bracket with Champion and Runner up, 1st and 2nd place and one Silver bracket with Champion and Runner up, 1st and 2nd Place.
