We started doing take out because it was just easier and more convenient — takeout orders will always take more than an hour to be ready to pick up no matter what the day is & I was told that I was supposed to get a call to confirm my order upon placing it online but never did so they didn’t start on it. Only reason why they started on it was because I ended up calling them to adjust my order, and when I told them I never received the call I was told “I don’t know ma’am.” It was fine because it still would’ve been ready by my original take out time but upon arrival, I was told that they no longer take tap to pay, even though they used to. Given, their reasoning behind it is valid because of the amount of disputes people started doing but please start communicating this to people when you’re supposed to call them to confirm their orders. 2. Paying extra for adjustments on your order (e.g all flats on your chicken, add extra biscuit, etc) are an additional up charge so please follow through with them because they are NOT free, I never had an issue prior so I don’t really check my food before leaving when it comes to take outs. The customer service and the food is great when we go in person but a more organized system is definitely needed for take outs.

He was prompt, attentive and patient with our varies requests! We arrived for our 11:45am reservation. We booked a reservation via open table which required a $50 deposit per person. That deposit was applied to ticket at the end of the meal. Please know that you cannot get a refund if you spend less than $50 pretax. The 2-story restaurant is located in downtown Houston. Parking options include paid parking garage or open lot across the street. The restaurant was semi spacious and inviting with lots of natural light. We were seated upstairs with window views overlooking Main Street. We ordered fish and grits, chicken & waffles, taste burger, fried okra, and taste wings. All were delicious! We also ordered the deep fried bread pudding which was decent, but fried way too hard. I feel as if frying it is a bit unnecessary and overpowers the flavor. Overall it was a really good experience!

He was very informative of the menu. He also had a great sense of humor and was very attentive. We ordered the Cajun chicken with waffles and the waffles had a crispy exterior and a soft inside served with warm maple syrup. The Cajun chicken was excellent crispy juicy chicken. Not overly seasoned just the right amount for me as a person who cant have much salt. Perfect crunch and juicy succulent meat. She denied it and insisted they don’t have big skillets. What an absolute absurdity. I don’t know many home kitchens that don’t have a basic 7” skillet to accommodate 5 lousy eggs. Absolute joke. The place was upbeat, clean, and not too noisy. It is true about their staff- extremely helpful and consistently asking if everything’s fine. (which was nice) On a different note; I do not like standing in line to order my food. I thought for the amount of food portions provided it was a little pricey. Lastly I love my coffee and when I have to consistently get up from the table to get coffee that’s an issue. Also, the creamer they used was extremely cold so in combination with not hot coffee - I got mediocre warm coffee….so not the making of a happy customer here. We ate the same plates, and had the same experience (thus 1 plate shown).
