They recommend it c'est la vie restaurant that they frequent often. They were out for their daily walk and suggested to follow the road to main Street and will basically be able to park right there on the street. We parked a short distance away from c'est la vie restaurant. They had tables out front that people were seating outside such as they have in Europe cafes. As we walked inside we were greeted by the employees and owner and facing the pastry display case in front of us. Everything look delicious and of course we took some French pastries home. But we ate breakfast outside at one of the tables. I had the half Bayonne sandwich and house salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. My wife had a sweet crepe banana, Nutella, strawberries and whipped cream. The food was fresh and extra ordinary, the atmosphere inside and out of the restaurant bakery was reminiscent of a good European Cafe and service was excellent. Highly recommend stopping by for breakfast, Danish we're going fast so I recommend getting there early. Parking was on the streets and you have to pay to park.

We were sat right away and while the interior had a nice little vibe to it any positive thoughts were instantly taken away by how sticky the tile floor was. I could literally hear my shoes stick with each step. Not sure if this was due to soap not being rinsed properly or another reason but it did stick in my mind as we were walking to our table. The omelet I ordered was good, as was the toast and bacon. I wish this location, though, had regular hash browns. They do not. Their only hash browns are cheesy. To not have a plain version really bummed me out. The only other option were potatoes that had sweet potatoes mixed in. Again, bummer, since I do not like sweet potatoes. All in all, The Original Egg was okay but not having options that other locations such as Millie's or Max's Table have, means we probably will not be back.

Highly recommend eating here instead of crowded downtown or St. Armond’s Square. Arron, the server that regularly have was not working on this visit. On this visit Jill was are server and the restaurant was not busy and we were immediately seated. The Philly cheesesteak omelet containing grilled steak, onions, mushrooms and cheese. Also wheat toast slices and cheese grits were included. For a dessert apple cobbler a la mode was the final course. Even though we have to travel quite a distance to visit this location the food is always hot and served in a timely manner. We were served dog food that was frankly disgusting. Actually dog food is not this expensive, and if we're served crap then I would rather have it called what it is -- crap! Take a look too at all the other reviews where the owner responds to these posts, but obviously nothing gets done because all of this is still happening today. Too sad. I think the days of the clean, courteous IHop restaurants are over thanks to this (only) Sarasota chain. Think I will contact Corporate and ask if this is what they intended for the brand. Again zero stars for this place and based on how we were treated, they should have paid us.

So in order the dairy free toasted coconut ice cream in a cup, and waited for it to come up in their queue. While I love a great homemade dairy free ice cream, as well any anything coconut, they was not toasted (well at least it didn’t have the flavor of being toasted coconut shreds). For a $9 two scoop cup of ice cream, I wouldn’t recommend returning, but perhaps the other flavors with dairy are worthwhile (what I saw wasn’t appealing with what looked like food dyes used for some flavors others ordered).
