Have had my fair share of American steakhouse experiences, so I had high expectations for this place. Reservations were easy and quick, made on the same day. The ambience resembles an old school fine dining establishment - lots of wooden decor and cozy lighting, with views overlooking the Jakarta business district, surrounded by skyscrapers. This would be a good place for a quiet date or a business meeting - no ambient music in the background. The staff and service were great. Everyone was attentive and made sure to check up on how everything was tasting. Started off with the soup of the day which was a beef barley soup. Nothing special, but was okay. Ordered the Porterhouse for 2 with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach sides. This steak is very similar to a NY Peter Luger type steak, prepared with a high heat sear to create a nice crust and finished in a hot broiler, drizzled in a butter sauce. Steak comes on a piping hot plate, pre-cut into slices separating the two cuts of the Porterhouse. Overall, the steak was flavorful, juicy and tender but I prefer steaks with more of that charcoal touch - nevertheless still enjoyable.
