We came here a few times and was really the only beach along the "seven mile" coast we visited. It is indeed next to a cemetery. Parking was not an issue. Across the street was a new lot with a nice bathroom complex and showers. The lot is not vast and maybe has 20 spaces. It does fill up, but we parked in the street side spaces with no issue. Crowd was 60 percent local, 40 percent tourist. I think mainly the tourist that came here were for the snorkeling opportunities while the locals came here with their families. The beach is fairly wide with fine sand though not sparkling white like further south The water is clear and blue with waves just big enough to entertain the kids and not scare the parents. Wife snorkeled here for hours, I laid back and just floated or swam. There is a reason people come here to snorkle. Great fairly calm water, plenty of underwater rocky grassy areas and lots of wildlife. There is even a shipwreck of shore that you can make it to if you are a seasoned swimmer though I would hesitate because of possible jet skiers. Don't let me saying rocky grassy area throw you. That is farther out and there is plenty of sand to walk on in the water. Speaking of walking. You can start here and walk so far south on the beach that you will need to take a taxi to get back before pumpkin time. Love this beach.

On a good day plenty to see, lovely clear water, lots of sea grass so turtle spotting is definitely possible. Also squid, rays, flatfish etc. Swim out to the outer reefs area and lots of varied fish. There's also a lettuce to spot the sealife from above. Turtles nests are signposted and it is illegal to disturb in any way, hefty punishments if caught. No amenities but some shaded areas under trees, benches under cover, an old but still useable bbq and portaloos. Just remember to put your rubbish in the bins or take it home to help preserve the beach.

I read to come in the late afternoon or early morning, we came around 3 and snorkeled and saw a decent size stingray. The water was kinda choppy so we took a break. Around 4 we went back in and saw 2 turtles. We probably would have seen more, but the water was rough and was taking a lot of energy out of us swimming. Qs others have said, not a beginner snorkel spot. I brought a little floating to help. Like other reviews said, to the right or left of the peer. Swim just past the dense grass to where it's more clear and you can see the bottom sand and you will definitely see fish and turtles! I wish we came here more than once. It was amazing to swim and watch them in their natural habitat.

All exhibits were still open though. We were given a map which came in handy because this place is pretty spacious. Parts of our tour were sad - turtles that seemed in distress swimming back and forth in small areas. Petting the turtles was fun for our kids but again, some turtles were super stressed out and actively trying their hardest to escape even though there was no chance that they could. Snorkeling with the turtles was a fun experience. I wore water shoes due to not wanting to walk on a slimy pond bottom but others in my family didn’t mind. All of the turtles we saw were probably teenagers - not huge but not tiny. You can get very close to them and some may even bump up against you. The gentleman working at the life jacket/snorkel shack was not friendly at all and had AirPods in and was singing an inappropriate song out loud when my children were nearby. Pool has a fun slide that was fun even for the adults. Lifeguards were professional and keeping at eye on everyone. The gentleman in the bird sanctuary was incredibly knowledgeable about his flock but he ran a tight ship - so follow the rules or he’s going to put you in your place. You can purchase a small cup of bird seed for $1 and the birds will fly into your hand and eat. Gift shop has everything imaginable to purchase and was very nice. Overall our day was ok, but we would not go back.

We were visiting for the day from our Disney cruise. We booked indecently through them rather than booking with Disney, as Disney charge extortionate prices! From the port we caught the local bus which took 20-25mins and was $2 per person. He dropped us right outside the centre. Check in was easy and staff were friendly. Because we got there early morning it was lovely and quiet before the cruise tours got there. We had a walk round the park and a gentleman let us hold and touch some of the turtles. We went round to the pool area, which is lovely, clean and spacious. It had plenty of beds and the pool area is huge and heated! I’d seen reviews about the pool not being tiled, this is true, however, it’s not a problem at all, it’s to give the natural feel to go along with the vibe of the rest of the centre. My partner and I went swimming in the lagoon with the turtles, wow! It was amazing. The lifeguards were super helpful with us getting our life jackets and into the lagoon. You are allowed to take your phones or go pros to capture photos and videos. Again, we’d seen reviews about the algae, which is just ridiculous, of course it’s going to be like that, you’re swimming with animals that eat algae and it’s made to be like their natural habitats. You could spend as much time as you’d like in that area and the turtles would swim right up to you. Once the day was done, we ended up getting a taxi back to the port to ensure we got back to the boat on time, this took about 15 mins .

Overall the location was convenient - walkable to some really great restaurants, liquor stores and even a medical clinic (which I had to pay a visit to unfortunately).. I love the convenience of a condo and being able to cook, do laundry and have our own space. It was generally very quiet, perfectly cool and we slept very well! We loved having the swim up pool bar (food was ok), and the swimmable cove. Everything was so lovely! The four stars comes in not bc of our unit but overall the units and buildings surrounding sunset cove have seen better days! This was part of Margaritaville, I believe.. and they had to shut down due to the pandemic and bc of that parts of the property are overgrown, worn and unkempt. Even the parking lot could use an upgrade. I can imagine what the overall property could look like with some TLC! With that said I would def love to return and hopefully stay in the same unit! We can't say enough good things about our experience staying here. We were a party of 8, so opted to book a 3 bed/2 bath oceanfront condo (#101) and a 2 bed/2 bath poolside condo (#117) for 5 nights. Both condos were clean, updated, had A/C that worked fabulously, had comfortable beds and furnishings, and were well stock with basic amenities. Unit #101 was the "hub" for our meals and game nights. Being on the first floor, we were able to walk right out to the cove for swimming and snorkeling. The poolside condo was right by the swim up bar, so some afternoons we hung out there for quick access to towels, bathroom, and changing. The pool is clean and huge, the swim up bar serves great snacks and drinks, and the beach area with cove is great for easy access to the reef for snorkeling. We saw rays, a small shark, and TONS of fish just outside of the cove. (Head out to the buoy straight out from the cove for the best sightings, though all reefs were fabulous - just look for the darker sections in the water, those are the best spots). Condo 101 had a large patio with a hose and nozzle for cleaning off feet and snorkel equipment. The provided beach towels are large and soft and there are always plenty of lounge chairs either in the sand or by the pool. Don't let the entrance area from the street scare you, as the hotel located right at the entryway is shut down and is starting to look a bit trashy, but as soon as you walk into the inner area of the Sunset Cove condo development, you will be pleased. Lots of development surrounding Sunset Cove, but a quick stroll along the beach reinforces that the Sunset Cove is superior to the adjacent properties. XQ Pizza is amazing (walking distance), as is Yoshi Sushi (drive a few minutes north). Da Fish Shack in George Town cooked up a Wahoo that we caught on a fishing trip and did an AMAZING job! There is a liquor store, a dive shop, and a Tortuga store within walking distance. Only complaint (and really it's not a complaint), is that access to the actual 7 mile beach is a bit tricky. We never actually walked it, as we were completely content just hanging out on the property. We will be back, and kudos especially to the unit owners of #101! You have a beautiful condo that we truly made amazing family memories in!

The staff are friendly and very welcoming! To say that my visit exceeded expectations is an understatement. I am not a diver but went out to snorkel with friends that were diving.
