I have to say if all the juices were as good as Mermaid and always $5 (or even up to $7), I would give 5 stars. However, the CashewMilk was fair about 4 out of 5 (and I am rounding up since I am not a fan of nut milks but wanted to try it). The Yoda or Yoga juice tasted like what the owners might call flavored water. It was lackluster and really did taste like half juice added to half water. The highlight of the experience was the mermaid juice - it is excellent and the half off price point is so very great. For that juice alone rounds up their score from 1 to 3. Cute location. And again, this was not fresh pressed but recently pressed. And for the record, I used to work my own all natural farm, I have done my own fresh pressed juices, and I also worked with a quaker family in Michigan in a community justice oriented CSA (Sandhill CSA), so I know the difficulty and challenges of the food system we live within. They are doing a fair job. Could be better taste wise, service wise, and logistically. One of the pros (in my opinion) of fresh juice is getting to see, smell, and hear it being juiced. This feels like a stripped down experience - and for that I could just get pre-made juice for much, much less. To the owners: feel free to attack me for my perspective and opinion and put me down. Or instead embrace it. Maybe if you did that, you might figure out how to get closer to 5 stars across the board.

Specifically the Brussels Sprouts! Sadly, the Brussels sprouts were no longer on the menu as they were our favorite dish, gone. Even the waiter agreed and was unsure why they removed them from the menu. However, that truly did not ruin our experience at all. We ordered quite a bit of things and enjoyed the night because everything was good! We ordered the deviled eggs, which were small and nothing too crazy, but a good option to share for the table! We also ordered the kung pao cauliflower. Now this dish, took us all by complete surprise and quite honestly, stole the show for the whole night. We legit ended up ordering 3 in total because of how good these were. The sauce, the crunch on the cauliflower, the little spice backed by sweet, this was some bomb cauliflower. Would ABSOLUTELY come back just for this dish truly. We all would! The Tomato Veloute, Pork Chop, Short Rib Pappardelle, Scallops and Catch of the Day were all very tasty and good options! Oysters are amazing. A great amount of liquor in them! My only suggestion would definitely be the broccolini. We each took 1-2 bites, just not good. It barely had any flavor and almost tasted like it was undercooked. Would not recommend it, but definitely does not overshadow the rest of the phenomenal dishes. I've always loved their salad bar and they stay pretty consistent with how good it is. There's been a time or two that the ingredients have been picked over, or things are looking old and wilted. The best thing is it is very inclusive of most diets and has a pretty nice selection of vegan and gluten free items, including at some times of year seasonal cakes and pies.. yumm.. Steamed well as for the almond mylk, and had a lovely sweet nutty flavor to the espresso. Very quick service btw. Lucky the waiter/manager noticed us looking awkward and guided us. Brunch menu was varied with great vegan and veggie labeling. The veggie Bennie was SO good and a large portion- if you aren’t too hungry and don’t eat leftovers it will be too big (if you love leftovers it is like two meals in one!). Very relaxing environment and cozy. I have mixed feelings on the food. Definitely I tasted better fish wrapped in banana leaves elsewhere and their ribs were overcooked and burnt but good seasoning inside. The sample platter for veggies appetizer is great. I decided this evening that I was ready to try Indian Food. Flavor of India was the best choice I could have made. I ordered Veggie Biryani, Garlic Naan, Saag Chana and the Chicken Tikka. He said it’s a must every trip. He and his mom apparently have been coming here for years, and funny enough, they don’t even get sandwiches. We had a little group with us, my wife and two other couples, and all of us decided to go for it and order the Cobb salad.
