After nearly eight years of marriage, 38 states, 20 countries together, I think I know when my spouse needs my attention and it certainly wasn’t this moment. I understand and respect responsible service, but there’s a right way to handle concerns, and this wasn’t it. Between the horrible service and very poorly made cocktails…the atmosphere overall leaves little to be desired. (Not that it really matters, I guess) The staff wasn’t very welcoming and mainly focused their attention to the clear regulars at this bar. It took us about half an hour to get a second drink and there were maybe 7 people total in the bar including the two of us. Furthermore…poor ethics and etiquette didn’t go unnoticed either as the bartenders were taking shots while working and perpetuating the unwelcome feeling we experienced. This may have perhaps been why the cocktails we had were quite disgusting. Can’t imagine anyone could properly pour a drink if they themselves are trashed. We hope this review can serve as a learning opportunity for the staff and management. I got the passion fruit cheesecake to go because I was so full lol, I tried some once I got to the car and it was delicious! I also put on our online reservation it was our anniversary and even though I got the cheesecake to go they still brought out a plate saying happy anniversary which was really thoughtful! The Parmesan Encrusted Free Range Chicken Breast was delicious. The portion size was enough, for a fast metabolism, you may want to order appetizers. I like to judge a place by it's presentation of a Caesar Salad. Some places look like they threw a bunch of lettuce leaves onto a place and smatter some cheese on top, with a sneeze of Caesar dressing. CAV was not this place. We ordered the salad without croutons, and it was delicious. There was some baked parmesan on top of the salad that added to the flavor. The dressing was light enough that it did not overpower the other flavors, such as the lettuce and the cheese. The cocktails were excellent! I ordered the Silver and Gold Margarita, they were flavorful and highlighted the taste of the tequila without the taste of the alcohol. A very unique aspect. CAV is a place where I am curious about it all. When observing all of the artifacts, and the actual space that the restaurant was in, it tells a very cool story. Well, I'm doing RI food fights burger challenge, and they were on the list. I tried them tonight and everything was just horrible it wasn't that busy being a Wednesday. However, the TV's were so loud that we couldn't talk to each other, staff slow to get refills and to up sell food items. I wouldn't go back. Food was bar food, if I was rating a bar, I'd probably give 3 or 4 stars because service was still slow, but stop trying to be a restaurant you're not.

Both the drinks and food were very good and I get a nicer dive bar vibe. Very affordable prices also. Their espresso martini was $12 and I got their No. 6 cocktail which was only $11. Let’s start with the good points. The service was excellent, very fast and eager to help out. On the day we visited there was a promotion to get the appetizers half price. Also there was a great variety of beers. We got a half tray of nachos, one corn dog, ribs and mac and cheese. The nachos were very tasty and worth to try. While the corn dog and the mac and cheese were also very tasty, you could taste that this was a pre-made meal you buy from the market and you heat up. But the biggest disappointment was the ribs. I was not expecting ribs like the ones in Texas, but this was even hard to chew. Just look at the picture I took and you can understand that this was either overcooked or cooked days in advance. Brisket Chili was probably the best thing ordered Meatloaf Sandwich tasted just like a burger The Pork Ribs had a great smoke ring and although cooked perfectly, lacked any flavor. The Beans and Mac n Cheese also were both plain and had little to no flavor. I guess I just expected more….. Very little value for the cost. Kept thinking of where else to go tonight and leaving as quickly as possible. Not recommended for several reasons. They have a 2 floor establishment , but with the windows on both floors , you will get some great views from either while you eat. For the first night being open , the staff were on their game, and they were all very friendly. We were even greeted by the chef and owners which was a pleasant surprise. Now on to the menu , the cocktails we had were amazing , my fave was “ the Sanchez” . The appetizers were unbelievable , you can’t go wrong with the lobster Tempura or the lamb chops. The main courses were exquisite. I had the butter aged sirloin , and it was mind blowingly delicious. I tried a bite of all my friends food and all the food was all flawless. So for my first time this place was everything you would expect from fine dining. I can’t wait to come back !!!
