As soon as we arrived we were in awe of the beauty of this theatre. It takes you back to the good ole days of live theatre shows. The architecture and layout of the building is beautiful and the theatre is grand upon entering. The tickets to this were inexpensive. They play old movies weekly during summer. This particular one had the words to the music on the screen and you could sing along to the songs. There were a lot of patrons and workers dressed I. Characters which made the experience 10x better. My 24 year old daughter had never seen GREASE and she love it! There is a private lot attached to the theatre as well as plenty of street parking. They have live events and bands throughout the year as well. It was definitely worth the ride from Winston Salem. Wish we lived closer to attend more shows here but definitely looking forward to coming more often.

The bad part is that the people that frequent are not friendly. I went here maybe two years ago and it was pretty fun. Staff was very welcoming. Service was slow even though the place wasn't that busy. Music, as with most places, was too loud. Had high hopes for the ribs as I personally, am not a big fan of the vinegar based BBQ. Ribs were somewhat tough. I like dry rub and a red sauce BBQ but these ribs had way too much dry rub, almost like a thick bread crumb. BBQ beans were good. Will probably go back and try some of their pulled port and different sides. Average BBQ overall. Jakes is a shadow of what it once was. About mid way through the pandemic, everything tanked. They cut ~half of the wing sauces, specifically all of the spicy ones. They never brought back beer dinners (it was a excellent food/beer pairing prefix dinner ) and only brought back weekly pint nights (free glass when ordering the brewery's pint) to semi-monthly. There were prolly 3 years I would come weekly for the wings and glass. The food quality now is just bad. My last order (3/15/25) the wings were barely cooked with feathers still on the wings (see pics). It's just sad. Jakes used to be the best wing spot in town. And it's still a blast playing pool here. The staff is still incredible. These failures are definitely not on them. It seems like its the owners. Thankfully, the last time they had my favorite super hot wing sauce (Francisco), one of the bartenders told me that was their last batch. But he brought out the recipe for me to take a picture of it :) Maybe one day it'll regain its glory. The community and staff there rock. If it does, I'll update this review again.

It was muffled and way too much bass as it overpowered Joe's leads which was why we were all there. Also the show ended at 10:15pm! What I thought was break was the encode. To pay this much for tickets and only get 2 hours of music is plain a ripoff!!!

I arrived on time and kept calling the location so that someone could let me in. I only had to call twice. But I was standing at the door the entire time. The truck they were sitting in was an older model vehicle and it was running for a few minutes so I thought both of them were there to take pictures as well because they were laughing, talking and having a great time. Finally, the young lady who was sitting in the vehicle, walked up to the door and said she needed to go and get the key to let us in. (I want it to be clear, this was NOT the owner. This was someone else who worked there!) She walked down to the next suite over and got the key to let us in AFTER letting me know I would be taking my pictures in the Icy Rich Girls Museum and NOT the Rich Girls Museum that I originally booked. So we had to drive across the parking lot to the other museum. Wasn’t far at all, luckily. She never gave me a reason as to why but asked me if that was okay. I was not okay with it but it was my birthday and I didn’t want the day to be ruined if I decided to say no and reschedule. I set my whole day aside and picked outfits strictly for the Rich Girls Museum. She also did not once get out of the vehicle before any of this to let me know she would be the one helping me or let me know there was any kind of issue or was waiting on someone else…nothing. She just kept making eye contact but still acting as if we weren’t standing there. She then ended up leaving us there alone for about ten minutes after letting us in and then another young lady came in. This young lady was very respectful and patiently waited because I did take an extra twenty minutes to take pictures since I wasted twenty minutes of my scheduled time standing outside!! Overall, I was in there alone with my photographer. So it was easy to take as many pictures as I needed to without feeling rushed. To me, I feel it’s worth the price. Just know that whoever takes your pictures also has to purchase a ticket! I love the concept of this place. Outside of all the miscommunication, we had a great time once finally inside and the playlist that was playing made the experience better.
