As we have an interest in history, Abdul was able to give us a detailed overview on how the city of Marrakech and the Kingdom of Morocco was formed, and took us around the relics. Abdul was very flexible and he catered the tours to our needs within the allotted time period. We had two half-day sessions, and in the first, we toured the highlights of the city including Koutoubia Mosque, Jemaa El-Fnaa square, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, Le Jardin Secret and the complex system of alleyways branching off of the main square, which Abdul knew like the back of his hand. In the second toured, we visited the food stalls trying snails, seafood, and various parts of sheep/cow, all of which Abdul recommended. He also recommended the best spots to buy souvenirs, dates, tajines, paintings and tunics with great quality and a reasonable price. Abdul was very approachable, knowledgeable and flexible during our two days with him and we could have not asked for anyone better. I highly recommend Marrakech Guided Tours and Abdul!

During our time in Morocco, we spent three days with Abdul doing his tours of the old city of Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, and Essaouira. Each tour was amazing in its own way. Abdul grew up in the city of Marrakech, and he knows its every corner. It was so pleasant as we went through the day to have multiple locals greet him and us. He took us to a number of fascinating sites that we would have never found without a guide. For example, we visited a traditional bakery, the underworkings of a Hammam, and co-op of disabled women who make crafts to support themselves. In addition, we visited most of the "must-see" locations and benefited from Adbul knowing the best places to stop for a meal with a view or a snack. He was very interested in finding out what WE wanted to see and make sure that he included those things in our day. The city could be intimidating without a guide, as the spoken and written languages are so different from English. Abdul is friendly, pleasant, and patient and made this day an eventful one for us. The Atlas mountains tour gave us the unique opportunity to have a meal in the home of a Berber family, during which Abdul taught our 16-year-old daughter the traditional tea service. The family was lovely, and the food was fantastic. My favorite part of the trip was giving small gifts (see my photo) to the local children. They were adorable. Essaouira is a beautiful coastal town. Again, we had an incredible meal with Abdul's connections. There are many arts and crafts locally made there, and we left with some personalized souvenirs that we treasure still. There is a WONDERFUL surprise on the way to the town. I wont spoil it for you, but it made the trip worthwhile in itself. Our family lives in a small town in South Carolina, USA, but we have traveled to Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America. I can honestly give Abdul our HIGHEST recommendation for providing great tours, making us feel comfortable and welcomed in Morocco, and ensuring that we saw all of the best sights. I went there solo for my birthday and the service was incredible. The place is hard to find but if you call them, they will help you navigate or get your taxi/hotel to call them if don’t want to get charged calling international number (I’m from the UK for example).
