I came to Montreal from Toronto and chose this restaurant because of its high Google rating. Big mistake. The food was awful. The braised noodles were served cold, the beef tasted like cardboard, and the 夫妻肺片 (spicy beef and tripe) was the saddest version I have ever seen. Everything was full of MSG and after eating I had such a bad stomach ache that I had to cancel my evening plans. The service was even worse. The server was extremely rude and condescending from the start. When I asked in Mandarin if there was a cash discount the server said in a warning tone, “Don’t say that in English. The discount is only for Chinese people.”
Yes, they actually have a 15% cash discount, but apparently it only applies to Chinese customers. That is not just unethical, it is discriminatory and dishonest. If a restaurant offers a discount, it should be transparent and available to everyone, not based on race or language. When we decided to pay in cash the bill still did not match the menu prices. The server said the discount was already applied and that the prices included the tip. Then they started guilt tripping us saying they rely on tips to survive. That is manipulative and unprofessional. The tip was about 13%, which is not be much, but considering the attitude and the food this place did not deserve any. The staffs are really friendly, kind and engaging, even patiently explaining their menus to me. Sesame beef has soo little meat , it is all cover with a thick soft batter. Called in to complaint ,the manager is not there , the guy that answered the phone doesnt speak french and can hardly speak english . He asked the cook, and told me that they are using a new powder/or try a new way to cook the dishes and tell me he's sorry if i dont like the taste . Well when i order an salt and peppers tofu , i expected to get that , not some experimental curry/cumin taste that has nothing to do with the original taste !!! You guys need stick to the old style chinese cooking , other wise change your menu . And you better find a new cook before you'll close your restaurant . What a disgrace!! Never again for me .

The only thing we liked was the brioche, but even that wasnt all that impressive either. And the cocktails were similarly mediocre: the espresso martini was light brown with the taste of coffee barely present and was overall watered down. Overall an okay meal but wouldn’t come again considering we ended up paying $115 for two meals, two cocktails, a brioche entree and the tip.

I liked the decoration and everything is very clean although they should turn the heater up since it was chilly inside. I ordered huevos con chorizo and found that they do not have the original mexican taste, they used some spice that made them taste like saffron or cardamom.
