Half lobster salad. You should not miss. My family ordered the scallop for main but I chose the shrimp and crab meat spaghetti. Because the lobster salad was so good, I was expecting prawns instead of cooked shrimps with the spaghetti. I was a bit disappointed but at the same time I was willing to try out the spaghetti without any hesitation. Spaghetti must be house made. It’s very much like the high end Italian restaurant pasta. It was cooked up to the level which is a bit chewy and good texture. Even though, I did not have much to say about the main. I knew the dessert dish will make up for the whole experience Yeah right it’s the coconut cream pie. The crust was not soggy because of the cream. The coconut taste was not overpowering. I am not a white chocolate person but it works well with the whole dessert. It sounds crazy but I think I can eat at least two more. I recommend this restaurant for every single special occasion you think of. Glad to see the customers were all well dressed. Love the vibe. Just a bit noisy if you have families dining around you.

I went for their 7-course tasting menu, and wow, what an experience! 在北约克吃西餐这家应该是交通最方便（店楼下还有地下停车场）也比较上档次的。但说实话，每次吃完总觉得味道不是很惊艳，食材也很普通，有稍稍对不起它的价钱，分量也有些小。私以为不如把价钱再降低，用一些更平民的食材做更大份的菜式，或者把价钱提的更高，用更好的料做更特别的菜式，这样我会比较想来。

But unfortunately they moved to this new location. Fortunately though, the ambiance and decor is beautiful so you won’t be disappointed in the least. We settled in their tasting menu $250 PP which was a selection of curated dishes. They also have other tasting menus if you’re looking for a more budget friendly option. One thing that is different compared to other restaurants is the whole table must order the same tasting menu in that category. So for example if you have wanted the $150 tasting menu than everyone at your table had to have the $150 menu, there was no choice of one person picking the $150 and another person choosing the $250 menu. So for our table of 7 people we all chose the $250, but they did allow for substitutions if you had an allergy or didn’t like something. Overall they accommodated us. Most of the dishes were absolutely amazing and although I didn’t particularly like one dish, I would say this is a go to restaurant to take a loved one for a birthday or other celebratory occasion. I think this is a Michelin rated restaurant so you can expect a great dining experience. $$$$

The lasagna their signature dish was lukewarm, not even hot. Our cod fish dish was as COLD. The cauliflower puree tasted like it just came out of the refrigerator. Easily 9.9/10! The only thing missing was a light crunch element for texture. The Mizuna Salad was delicious - fresh, light, sweet, and tangy. We didn't try the Fava Bean Crostini so can't comment on that one Mains: This is where things gets very confusing, unbalanced, and mid at best. *Clam Pizza - My partner's choice and unfortunately a miss. It was a full size pizza, but he ended up only eating a couple slices. If you like seafood you may like it, we don't. *Pesto Gnocchi - Others ordered the gnocchi and it was underwhelming. It was fresh and light but the portion was very very small, they could've added 7-10 more gnocchi to make it more appropriate size in comparison to the chicken and pizza. Presentation was bland, just gnocchi with pesto and drizzle of olive oil. *Wood-Fired Chicken - This is what I ordered, picture included. It was the best bang for your buck, for sure. The portion was huge, it's a HALF CHICKEN (breast, thigh, and drumstick) with no sides. It was a lot of protein for one person in my opinion and quite salty, considering there is no starch/veggie to balance it all out. It has a lovely smoky flavor from being wood fired, but it needs a bit more sweetness added to balance out the flavour profile. I ended up taking half home. I just had the leftover with Japanese cabbage slaw & sesame dressing and it was fantastic (something for the kitchen to consider). If I had known, I would have ordered the chicken and asked my partner to order the gnocchi so at least we can share a more balanced meal. Desserts: They were great! Some of us got the Panna Cotta with strawberry compote and it was very delicious! Some got the cannoli which was generously sized, bigger than the ones you find in bakeries. And my partner got the Olive Oil cake as recommended by our server, which was good but a bit too dense for my liking. They did add a candle on the cake for my partner which was a very sweet & thoughtful gesture. All in all, while the service was really good, the inconsistencies in the mains made the overall dinner disappointing. Each dish presently surprises us. It really was a treat. What’s even better is the service. Everyone is so friendly and kind. Location is in Kensington so outside is pretty ghetto but when you step inside it’s a completely different experience. Their Old Fashions are great, they have a really good wine menu, and all the food is on point. Went for a business dinner and we were there for 3+ hours. Four people and the bill was about $750 with tip. They steak was excellent (though it was $100), servings are family style and not very big but ok for 2 people. I can’t recall all things we ordered as it was a lot of dishes but every single dish was excellent. Will definitely be going back.

The pasta surprised us as well - personally I enjoy this take over restaurants who are known for their rose style sauce like Carbone. The standout for me was the crab apple dessert - if you’re reading this in the fall of 2025 - go try it as the chef said it’s coming off the menu by December. I started with four oysters and stopped against my will otherwise I could have eaten a dozen. They were incredibly fresh and tasty, and the horseradish was masterful. For the crudo I went with the yellowfin tuna. The black garlic was really tasty but the star of the dish was the green mustard leaves kimchi. It made the whole dish edgy with the tiniest of the kicks, as mustard kicks go. My vegetable choice was half a portion of the leek with mataki bacon and fermented daikon. I’m glad I ordered half because it was definitely more filling than it looks. It’s really well balanced and overall it was probably my favourite bite of the whole evening. For noodles once again I went half portion, this time with the ravioli. Sweet corn tasted amazing and the chanterelles felt fresh and really flavourful. The smoked ricotta brings a subtle taste to the dish that I really liked. I got a side of house-made bread and cultured butter to go along with the pasta. Bread was heated and served at the perfect temperature. It was crispy on the edges with a soft, warm, comforting middle. The butter was a bit too salty in my opinion. Main dish was a whole sea bream, sitting on top of green peas and scallions in a beurre blanc sauce with cumin oil. The fish was grilled in an open fire right in front of me. It was soft and tasty, the vegetables carried a charred flavour that elevated their taste and the cumin oil added depth to the beurre blanc sauce. Overall it was a well executed dish but nothing that impressed me or made my jaw drop. The size of this portion is not to be underestimated, because the sauce is heavy, and along with the veggies, makes the whole thing very filling. Lastly, I had the crab apple sorbet with rice puff crumbs sitting on a foie grais pudding. It is not overly sweet, which is good but unfortunately this dessert didn’t really strike a note with me. The crab apple sorbet was really light and almost flavourless, and the tanginess of the foie gras pudding overpowered everything. I appreciate the chef’s boldness to try this dessert but it’s not the taste one expects in a dessert. This one is a miss in my opinion. The wine by-the-glass list was awesome and is probably one of the best in the whole city. I had a fantastic chenin blanc that paired perfectly with what I ate. Service was impeccable and Rachel was really friendly and helpful. Ambiance is cool, cozy and welcoming. Doesn’t feel too chic, pretentious or bougy, which I really liked. As Michelin BIB goes, this restaurant is definitely outside of the BIB definition because one will easily spend over $100. I understand the restaurant has no control over being named a BIB but just letting others know that’s a 3$ place. Overall I definitely recommend this place and will definitely go back with friends & family.

Both the braised beef genovese and the squid scallop pasta were simple, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We sat at the chef’s bar situated in front of the fireplace which was great to be able to see all the action, but be warned it does get a little bit hot. We went with the curated chefs menu and it was delicious. Our favourite was the bone marrow with shrimp, Hokkaido Scallops and the cod. The espresso martinis were one of the best we’ve had. I can see how this restaurant has received a Michelin star 4 years in a row. Well deserved!

The food was outstanding, the service was great, and the chef table is a must! We got to watch the chefs cook everything which was such a cool show! We did the tasting menu and it was great. The waitress asked us if there’s any specific dishes that we really wanted to try for the tasting menu which is nice since there is room for decision if you’d like. The standout dishes for us were the scallops, hanger steak, empanada, and cod. The initial dessert we got was this weird spicy chocolate mouse with passionfruit?? I’m not sure why most restaurants try to do too much with the desserts.. just keep it simple.. also despite reaching out in advance and getting a confirmation, they forgot about my boyfriend’s birthday. The waitress was nice about it though and got us another dessert - the tres leches cake and it was much better. Overall, I’d definitely be back and I’d highly recommend Quetzal. If you do the tasting menu, be sure to ask for the dishes I mentioned earlier - they were delicious ! :)

Fun spot. Cocktails and bar staff were nice. I’m a bit surprised by the star given that it really was a step down compared to Alo, Akin, and other fine dining spots in Toronto. The service was okay but not exceptional… there were definitely delays at the bar but it was peak dinner service on a Saturday. The tasting menu was good overall with highlights being the scallops, the mushrooms, and the beef tartare. The third course and the dessert were misses for both of us. The drink pairing was underwhelming but the à la carte cocktails were great and probably the highlight of the evening. I do appreciate that it was less ‘stuffy’ than other high calibre restaurants but, for us, we don’t really see the hype… especially at this price point.
