I had the crab stuffed shrimp and baked potato and it was one of the best meals I have had in awhile. My husband had the ribeye, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and lobster bisque. Definitely one of the best I have ever eaten at the old school look of the place made me feel like I was back In time. Our server was great and the food was some of the best ever! The complimentary bean soup was amazing I could have it everyday if I could and that shrimp cocktail hit you with so much spice for like 10 seconds then it mellows out but it’s outstanding flavor! The salad filet that cut like butter the amazing potatoes and veggies and that creamed spinach was to die for! This is definitely an experience I won’t forget and I would come back to Indianapolis just for this steak house it is definitely a must try!

The dining room was crowded, tables close together, and loud. The food was good eventually but there were several mixups. When my plate came out the baked potato had no toppings despite my order for all the toppings. So they took it back to add the toppings and brought the plate back. Then I cut into the steak that I ordered medium and it was rare with a cool pink center. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and they cooked the same steak some more and brought the plate back again. By now it had been ten minutes since the plate first came out so while the steak was then cooked correctly, the potato was now cool. I wasn’t going to send it back a third time though. For a high end established steak house that hangs its hat on excellent service, I expected a visit from the manager to apologize or an offer for a comped dessert. That didn’t happen though. We got the shrimp cocktail to start which was great but expensive for 4 shrimp. It packed quite the punch with the amount of horseradish. The fried chicken slider was basic but what I expected. While the service and atmosphere were both great, the steaks weren’t our favorite. First the service was great, they accommodated us even when we came in near closing. Served us fresh bread and made excellent recommendations. I had the French onion soup, which I could tell was made with a sherry base. SO GOOD! My friend had the Ceasar salad. Though simple, I have found too many of the restaurants I have been to in Indiana to not make it with anchovys and skip the use of Dijon mustard elements, which is crucial. My friend had the half rack of ribs that were superbly cooked and we could tell the sauce had a unique element like tangerine added to the sauce which was awesome. It was served with asparagus and as a Chef, I was so impressed that they served young, thin cut asparagus. The flavor is a hundred times better when using young asparagus, compared to the lazy 3 thick cut asparagus. So super quodos to them!!! I had the Bourbon maple glazed Pork chops that were excellent, served with a supper creamy and rich red potato, garlic mashed potatoes In all, everything was spot on and riveled any restaurant in any major city in the country. I know for a fact, this will be the only restaurant I go to when traveling across Indiana.

It's a cool building. The themed decoration is strongest in the foyer, but the whole restaurant has a charm to it. There are a few rooms in the house which are somewhat secluded from each other, and I was in the bar area with just a handful of tables, which made the place feel less busy to me than it actually was - I was surprised at how quiet it was on a Friday night until I was leaving and saw that there were more diners in other areas of the restaurant that weren't visible from my seat. The food was pretty good. I first ordered a draft oat stout by New Holland Brewing, which was a very nice beer poured perfectly. Complimentary bread and pesto were brought out before my entree. The bread was so good - it was very soft and fresh, brushed with a flavourful herb butter. My entree was the vegan puttanesca. The dish had a good variety of vegetables all cooked well, and the marinara sauce was tasty (lots of garlic) but so brothy that I felt like I needed a spoon to eat it, but alas no spoon was provided. The waitress did offer more bread but I didn't feel hungry enough, so I declined and just tried to get as much as I could with my fork. The cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert was very good too - the cheesecake was rich and a little tangy but not overly dense or sweet. I appreciated that their dessert menu has both smaller and larger desserts, so I could get something from the small bites menu for just myself. I think my entree was too expensive for what it was - chickpea pasta and vegetables in marinara sauce - but the prices made more sense for the drinks, dessert, and meat/seafood entrees. The service throughout the meal was great. My waitress was attentive and very nice. She checked in often to see if I needed anything else but was also patient with me and other parties. I’ve visited the Hyatt Regency a ton of times and have always wondered whether this place lived up to the hype. I finally after all this time managed to eat here. Came on a Tuesday at around 7 PM and they weren’t that busy. Just an fyi, but they DO have a dress code (business attire basically) so plan accordingly. The views up top are incredible, combined with the fact the place rotates around and gives you 360 views of the city. First off, I have to give HUGE props to our waiter Anthony. He was SO kind, attentive to our table, gave incredible menu suggestions, and made sure we were doing fine the whole time. Honestly, he was one of the best waiters I’ve seen in the industry so we tipped him very well. We started out with the Shrimp Cargot and the Thick Nueske’s Bacon as appetizers. Both were unbelievable. The shrimp was great and the bacon was unreal. I then got a bowl of the seafood chowder which was fantastic. Then as my main course, I got the Braised Short Ribs with Polenta. Overall, it was phenomenal all around. The ribs were juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was delish. The polenta was good and the carrots were good too. Overall, Eagle’s Nest was way better than I imagined! If you’re in Downtown Indy or are staying at the Hyatt, get yourself a reservation here. Was so worth it! I’ll easily be back.

The food was some of the best we have had compared to other restaurants down town. The service was outstanding! I love it. It has an older client base (not a bad thing) and therefore tries to be multiple things at the same time. At a glance of the menu it looks very affordable, and especially with the steak and seafood selection. This place is essentially a sports bar with leather booths and steakhouse lighting. The apps and cheaper “staple foods” are good, but the steak is mediocre at best. I did the surf and turf and the New York strip was 1/3 fat and various colors depending where I was cutting in the meat. The scallops were good, but battered. When we showed up on a Friday night, we were promptly shown to our seats. There are a few TVs at the bar if you come solo or want to catch a game while having your dinner. I did not expect the price of the veg entree, that does not come with a salad, to be priced the same as a steak that's served with a salad and bread. But other than that, overall it's a great place to celebrate your special day.
