The atmosphere from the second I walked in was enchanting. Every choice and decision made about the locations design with what has been kept from its beginnings and what has been changed was perfect. But more than that the staff were so kind and warm but also so proficient and professional. On top of that the food was unbelievable and if i had more time i would have tried everything. The banana and peanut butter milk shake was also awesome although I feel should be bigger for the price. The 2 cookies filled with a hazelnut Center are also amazing and probably the best cookies I’ve ever eaten. The chips aren’t bad, but are a bit of a let down compared to everything else. They are thin and crispy, I think they should try to improve them. The service seems to have improved now that they don’t have that foreign guy working there that tells you all the tables are booked when 60% of the restaurant is empty. I’m not sure why they have taken the dirty stop out Burger off the menu since it was delicious. They have a good selection of other food on the menu but I’ve never got past the burger.

Got to choose a window seat online while booking - beautiful view of the yachts! We ordered the Cajun prawn entree and seafood misto - a trio of fish that was so perfectly cooked and every one had a different flavour. The meals were hot on arrival, and the prawns were so crunchy! Visited here in August 2024 with family. Food was very good, however when the chefs cooked our food and placed it on the service area (under warming lights) they rang the bell multiple times and none of the service staff collected it (a lot of service staff were around the corner chatting amongst themselves instead of working). So we had to inform the service staff that the food was waiting and getting cold. That said though, the food was really good just slightly under temperature. The location and décor of the place was brilliant. But the toilets were not clean, I was informed by the females I was eating with that the sanitary bin in the female toilets were overflowing. There was enough service staff to keep on top of basic service and cleaning; the eating area was clean though. The very good food was let down by the service staff.

We ordered crispy calamari, cod fillet along with fries and drinks. I can definitely say that they have the best fish and chips that you must try when visiting Plymouth. The location is amazing with great views over the harbour. Brought back childhood memories as this used to be Plymouth fish market. We visited for lunch and it was vibrant but not too busy and there was no wait to be seated. Staff were excellent and very friendly. We had 3 in total during are meal and all were top notch 👍 Service was fast, the food excellent and really tasty and portions were good. The kitchen is visible from the table which was nice. We went on a buffet paid by STAR Tours but the restaurant provided us limited food though it was named 'buffet' and most importantly behaved very arrogantly as if we were begging! This man, especially, doesn't know the basic etiquettes, manners and has no sense of modesty. It's a short setup but they make good food. A homey atmosphere it can be. But for this place to grow, this rude man needs to learn the BASIC LESSONS OF MODESTY and the basics of hospitality too. I hope the restaurant authority looks into this behavioural iasue very seriously!

When we saw they were doing a 30th year celebration thali set menu we phoned and booked. The food is traditional gujerati cuisine cooked with great flavor and loads of love. The set menu was fantastic value but much more importantly than that, it was fabulous delicious food. The poppadoms were a nice start, the dhokla, which we'd never had before, were fantastic and the thali itself was delicious. Followed by gulub James and ice cream and all with a complementary drink. Im not one for reviews but this place deserve one and I only wish I loved closer!

Order: 1 x Sweetcorn curry 1 x Kerela vegetables 1 x Smoked aubergine 2 x Puri 1 x Pratta 1 x Garlic rice I really coudln’t fault this meal, everything was so tasty and felt like pure home cooking. There’s a difference between most indian restaurants and this, in the sense that a lot of indian resuturants overload on the oil to flavour the masasla, however the curries here were light, moreish and well balanced. The Kerela vegetables in particular was my favourite, while my girlfriend enjoyed the depth of flavours to the aubgergine dish. The puri and garlic rice were very good too and the staff were incredibly pleasant and welcoming. Atmosphere wise, its cosy and quiet with a subtle smell of incense floating through the tables. As a South Asian person myself, I cannot reccomend this place anymore and believe that this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in the UK. The food will warm your heart and you won’t leave feeling like you need to walk about 3 miles to cure your brimming belly. Thanks guys!

We visit Plymouth every year and go to the stable every time as a safe place for me to eat! The pizza is always so good and they also have vegan cheese too if you want it! They served my pizza with a different colour pizza slicer so it’s clear mine is gluten free! There was quite a long wait on food, but it is delicious when it arrives! You can also order some starters which came out quickly which is what we did whilst we waited for the mains! Our love affair started months back with the vegan pasty (a firm favourite - the pastry is just *chef's kiss*). We visited their cafe at Devonport Guildhall today. We have visited Barbican Kitchen 3-4 times now, on our visit to see family in Plymouth, from London. We always make a point to have a date night here. It is our most favourite place to eat, even amongst the Michelin-starred restaurants we have been to. We just love the cosy, unstuffy, relaxed atmosphere of this restaurant. The ingredients are always the best quality, seasonal and fresh- this is reflected on the pleasantly ever-changing menu. We love trying different plates and love the recommendations from the staff. The prices for plates are more than fair - they reflect the quality of the cooking, the ingredients and the service. We know that if this were in London, we'd likely pay more than double our bill for the same food! The variety of options are truly exciting. Portion sizes are just perfect, if not generous. There is something for everybody and every 'food-mood' you are in. My partner has thoroughly enjoyed their beef burgers and loves their grilled steak options! I have a personal affinity for the 'catch of the day' and the other fish dishes on offer. I also often find myself dreaming about my next encounter with their sticky toffee pudding... A special mention must be made for the staff that work here (won't name names for privacy reasons). Attentive, not intrusive or pressurising and incredibly welcoming. It is on the pricier side, however the quality of the food is amazing and very well presented which makes it worth it. I chose pork with a beef croquette as a side. The fit out of this venue is beautiful very well thought out. Everywhere you look is something interesting / pretty. The space is multi level but not multi floors, kinda like an ant farm or rabbit warren. The roast came out and the next minute of my life was filled with wonder and excitement I have not felt since I was a child at the circus. The pork was put down in front of me on one plate with some super crispy potatoes, a Yorkshire pud and a puree that had the sweetness of parsnip. Then the carrots are put in front of me on their own plate. The greens on a different plate. The cauliflower cheese on another one. A dipping bowl of apple compote. And a gravy jug. Plus the plate with my croquettes. It was like a clown car. A seemingly endless supply of food coming off my waitress’ tray. It was such an impressive display that a table of 4 sitting near me outside decided to order food after seeing it all. This place is good and I have the completely burned mouth to prove it. They warned me it was hot, but I could not help myself. The pork is tender, well seasoned and the crackling might be worth your first born child (go on, you’ve got spares). Every single side was worthy on its own. And the croquettes were a dalliance of textures and flavours. The staff were friendly and helpful even though it was very busy and through the card machine not working outside. ————— I am back for a second go, to test the waters and see if this place was a one hit wonder or their sophomore album is just as good. But I am here on a normal day. Not on Sunday roast. Now the quandary. Do I get a burger, or the pork belly. On one hand I can get a burger anywhere, and pork belly is less frequent so the overall enjoyment of my life might be enhanced. On the other hand the pork roast was so good it feels inevitable that the pork belly will pale in comparison. I decided on the three course meal, of which the burger was not an option. Course 1 - Humus & chorizo. There is a nice citrus kick in the hummus that cuts through the richness of the hummus and chorizo. It was texturally a bit grittier than I had hoped but we’re grasping at straws here. The flavour was very good. Course 2 - Pork belly. The pork belly was a bit under rendered. It was lovely. But no comparison to the Sunday roast. That was perfectly rendered. With crackling. The regular lunch, was crackle-lacking. It was well seasoned and enjoyable but I find myself scrolling through the photos of the Sunday roast like a hot ex-girlfriend. Thinking of what could have been. That being said, the chips and sauce that come with lunch, far exceed the potatoes from the roast. Course 3 - Brownie. The size was disappointing but the fastest way to turn that around is with taste and this did not disappoint. The brownie was soft, warm and fudgy. The quail egg scoop of ice cream atop it allowed a creamy texture to fill each bite after the supplied jug of sauce is applied. For what might be the first time, in a long time, I have no idea what the sauce is. There is a caramelised toffee taste and some grit within that tastes of caramelized sugar. If I had to describe it in 3 words - sticky toffee chocolate. As a final note, CHECK YOUR BILL. I did not, and upon reflection a 3 course meal was £26 with all tap beer half off, I had 3. Even if each beer was £8 that puts my total at £38. I added 20% tip cause the waiter was very attentive. We’re now just over £45. But my bill was £55… I’m not saying they ripped me off or there was a mistake, but if not the beer was very expensive.

My wife ordered a simple chicken & noodle dish. She waited 20 mins. The first thing to say is that clearly Wagamama have cut their portion sizes by 25%. The half breast portion of chicken hidden amongst the noodles was so over cooked my wife had to ask for a knife & not use chopsticks, which we like to do, as she simply couldn’t even break the chicken apart. When I politely complained again about the overall service, I had no empathy, I was just given a defence and an attitude, and so WE were made to feel wrong for questioning the service. After all this I felt it perfectly in order to request an adjustment to the bill and was astonishingly told, “what for?” My reply was, “you expect your customers to pay their bill, right? And for good service, it’s polite to leave a tip, we all appreciate good experiences - but here’s the thing, that door swings both ways, for bad service with an attitude, I expect an adjusted bill not an argument, so please, kindly bring me one.” (I’m a Business Coach and Sales Trainer - It’s mandatory to request an adjusted bill, if the service received warrants it) Now here’s the issue - They employ kids to run restaurants.. youngsters who simply don’t care, have little experience to none, who are probably more worried about the fact that they haven’t checked their mobile messages since their shift started. A good deal for mid-week dinner, bed, breakfast. Room: we got the budget version but found it comfortable, spacious, and the perfect temperature. Waters, milk, teas, coffees in the room all appreciated. Would be nice to have a little tea and coffee station on a table rather than hidden below the TV where there’s no plug. Quiet. Bed was wonderful. Generous toiletries provided. Spa: good selection of sauna rooms and nice pools. Sadly, far too many people for the space; no seats, and even at quiet times, queues formed for different areas. Seems to be a victim of its own success! Lots of others angry at this. Didn’t impact my experience too much. Dinner at the Brasserie was excellent and staff were mindful of dietaries (although the dessert menu doesn’t show any vegan options, we were offered delicious plant based brownie and ice cream). We ordered one glass of wine, one side of potatoes, and one G&T, and were surprised to find this cost us nearly £50 on check out. This was due to a service charge and VAT. Breakfast: tasty and varied. Service quite stretched e.g. amendments to the order were forgotten; we weren’t offered any toast, margarine, sauces, more tea/coffee etc. Was busy, so tricky to catch someone’s eye, but we did and they were helpful.
