The salad was pretty good. The combo of spicy arugula with goat cheese and a sweet praline topping is hard to get wrong. The salad is available in two sizes - the side size and a meal size. We got the meal size which is not going to fill most people up. However the quality is decent. The house burger was good but a tad on the salty side for me. The bun is excellent and soft. The stand out for me were the fries. They seemed fresh cut and crispy, with the skins on. The basil aioli is special. The only miss for me.is that the entire meal is on the salty side, which is alright for a pub meal with alcoholic drinks. The veggie lasagna was on the drier side, which didn't require the two large pieces of bread with it. The lasagna was also not reheated properly all the way through which was disappointing. Service felt rushed. I had just sat down when the server came to take our drink orders. It was an instant regret after the first bite as It was so fishy and tasted like frozen squid you can get from any groceries store. The size of squid is also underwhelming for $15. The service was slow as we sat there for almost 20 minutes before someone will come to take our Order (without water). The gentlemen who served us was nice enough. I would only come here for drink the next time but definitely never going to order food from their menu again. Other local pubs in town actually serve more decent food and drinks.

We visited for a weeknight dinner in August. We sat outside in the back courtyard which is very picturesque and cozy. The building itself is old. All the food was really yummy. The service was also very good. We had two servers come to our table within just a few minutes of sitting down. And they were attentive throughout our meal. We did check out the inside before we ate and it's it has the feel of an English pub. There's lots of dark wood booths and interesting decor all around. The pub is operated by some really outstanding people. Totally 5 Star. The only down side for us is that the Iron Duke is pretty close to a two hour drive from where we live. However, the bar has been following a downward trend the past couple of months. Beer selection is still good and the atmosphere is still very enjoyable, but the menu is really not worth its salt. But then I was surprised by this unprofessional reply. Servers were inattentive but friendly. Wait times were long between server visits (20 minutes before we were initially served, and only because I approached the bar tender). At the end of our visit waited for forty minutes for someone to come around and take another drink order. When a server did come, they (politely) asked me to move my foot. But did not take our order. Then waited another 20 minutes for a server to bring our bill after signalling that we were ready. Again, only after I approached the server. Drinks were expensive. Priced to match other restaurants, but not quite as good as somewhere like Stone City. Food was good though. I left a two star review to reflect costs and lack of service. The servers were friendly in general. We were helped by a new hire who was the most attentive to us out of all five servers that dealt with us intermittently. The lack of professionalism shown here will probably keep me away though.
