The mattress was the worst! It was not supportive and squeaked with every little movement. The location was fantastic BUT it is right next to the Green Turtle Bar which plays outdoor music and brings in lots of people so if you don’t want to have music playing in the background all night and feel weird about having a boatload of strangers right outside all hours then choose elsewhere! We loved it! My fave part was that right outside our room was a balcony that overlooked the bar and the stage! I feel like service at check in was minimal. But at least it was quick. Then I don’t recall seeing any staff at all the rest of our stay so luckily we are low key and low maintenance. The restaurant in the inn has great reviews but it did not leave much of an impression on me as there is so much else in Fernandina/Amelia that is must do! The courtyard was gorgeous and we had to touch the topless mermaid’s boobs on the fountain! Overall, we enjoyed our stay but mainly because we spent most of our time outside of our room. The room itself was eh. Parking was also limited and not guaranteed! Some of the spots that were there are also difficult to get into or out of especially with a large vehicle.

Great location right in the middle of everything. Bed was super comfy and the room was spacious. It is an older location, so the rooms were a bit uneven towards the center where the bathroom meets the bedroom. The 2 person tub was huge. The room was generally clean, but some out of the way corners had some webs and even spiders/bugs. Directly outside the room was just dirty, and it was evident it had been that way a while from the tracks from moving chairs around. I will still go back my next time to Fernandina.

We recently spent three nights there and stayed in the Kitchen Suite. The room was spacious and immaculate and has a lovely private porch that overlooks the pool. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the patio two mornings and had breakfast in the stunning dining room our last morning due to chilly weather. Social hour each afternoon was great and we met a fun couple from GA. Being able to park our car all weekend and walk to all the shops and restaurants was perfect! We loved The Patio Restaurant. Flint, Kim, & Tammy, thank you so much for everything you did to create such a special memory for us. Kim, we especially enjoyed our last morning there eating the delicious breakfast you prepared in addition to spending some time chatting with you. Breakfast is great. Tammy is friendly and helpful and a fantastic cook. She pays attention to the food requests and makes sure everyone is happy. She made our stay especially wonderful because of her attention to detail while she was also taking care of other household tasks. Wonderful! Our only small suggestion for the Fairbanks is to update electrical outlets by adding more to the rooms or supplying extension cords. So if you use a phone as an alarm clock ...and a USB port near the bed or electric outlet would have been so helpful! Such a fun town , friendly people and fabulous food options. We enjoy staying in B&Bs. Located the Fairbanks House online, was easy to book and chose it based on the awesome reviews. And they were spot on!!!!! Check in - once we arrived was so easy and Flint was very helpful with our luggage. The house is beautiful and so very well maintained. There was plenty of parking and getting to the downtown area was easily walkable within 10 mins! The stay was most enjoyable, very comfortable accomodations and the service was impecable. The morning breakfast was absoultely delicious as were the daily cookies!! Overall a very pleasant experience. Excellent value for the price.

As to the facility itself, assuming you understand that an 1870 victorian house isnt the same as a new hotel, you are going to love both the house and the proprietors. The daily breakfast was excellent, varied and served in just the right portions. There is an afternoon happy hour where beer and wine are available at no additional cost, and there is coffee available all day. The room was clean and comfortable, we stayed in room 14 which had a balcony which overlooked ash street, most of the upper floors had a shared balcony and the lower floors had a deck out onto the patio. Our balcony was private and 13 steps across, the bathroom was large and included both a tub and a shower, the TV was simple to use. This really was a perfect place for my wife and I to stay. The first 2 pictures are of the patio, the third is a picture from the balconylcony taken at 5:30 am just before sunrise, the fourth picture is a breakfast meal, then the indoor eating area, a couple shots of the room and finally the porch, A++++, thank you Addison

The hosts Ron and Lisa are always around to answer any questions and make sure their guests are comfortable. The complimentary breakfast every morning was delicious and is served in the dining room as well as on the deck by the beautiful courtyard. The Inn is in walking distance of the Marina, restaurants, bars some with live music, and all kinds of shopping. They also have bicycles and beach chairs if you chose to visit the beach. They made the stay a 5 star, as did everything else. They generously took care of us and even slipped in a lot of "special" things to make our stay absolutely amazing. The breakfasts were handled with care and love.....somethings I'd not prepare (time!, time, time!!) and so the meal in the morning was always a delight and filling. They make you feel at home. We took our little dog, cat and 4 year old with us and we all enjoyed our stay. They do provide bags outside for dog droppings. There is some grass areas to take them that are near the train track side. The towns dog friendly. You can walk them all over. The hotel has a pool with a pretty view. No playground or anything for kids but thats no issue. You can't beat the location. We had a big suite on the corner of top floor overlooking the harbour. On the right, I could see the train station and shops out of those windows. Beautiful views of the sunset. Now you can hear the freight train early in the morning. It might have been 6am. But they start breakfast at that time so we got up anyway. Breakfast really was great there. Each day they made something different. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken to go with it. They always had fresh cut fruit and yogurt. You would be happy. It wasn't slim pickings. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. It actually reminded me of renting an apartment. I didnt hear much noise in the hallways so that was a plus. I think there was a little gym but I couldn't check it out. I did see office equipment if you needed to use it. If you wanted to go on jet skis or boat rentals you can walk right to them. There's a pirate ship and floating tiki hut out there too.

The room appeared initially clean; however, upon coming back from the beach, there were a large number of ants lined up all over the headboard of the bed and wall in the hotel room. Maintenance said this happens often and came & sprayed, assuring us that the chemical was safe; however, we requested a different room. Thankfully we had some time prior to our dinner reservation to pack all of our things & move to another room. The room we were moved to was larger but more dated. We also had a plumbing issue during our stay, which was resolved quickly thankfully. But I felt so bad for my husband who made the reservation and wanted to surprise me. Then we were given a free bottle of wine, with a card that said "happy anniversary". We never indicated it was our anniversary. We told the woman who brought the wine how frustrated and surprised at the dishonesty of the hotel, the mistakes, and unprofessionalism. She came back and said we were being offered a free dinner. The dinner was in fact NOT free. It was charged to our card in the amount of approx $326.37 (no alcohol) Then a credit of $301 was issued. The room charge was $2,175.80 No credit was given for the suite that was really a regular hotel room that was not ocean front. WAY overpriced for what we received. Why would you call a tow truck when you know my room number and could have just ask me to move it my room number is right there you knew which room I was in! To make things worse, the woman who actually owned the truck was waiting at her spot and screamed at me too. All she had to say was, “Oh, no worries, you’re in my spot,” but instead she decided to unload on me like it was some kind of power trip. I’m a single mom here alone with my young son — there was absolutely no reason for this level of aggression or bullying. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, the front desk staff doubled down and became nasty. This was unprofessional, frightening, and completely ruined our stay. Between the rude staff, chaotic parking, moldy rooms, and poor beach access, this hotel is absolutely not worth the money. I felt threatened and bullied. Also, I got bedbugs. This place is right on the ocean and I had reserved a room with FULL ocean views. I got the room I wanted and loved watching the sunrise from my room. When you follow the directions to this hotel, it takes you right to a public beach parking lot that is likely to be full. Be confident. You can pull in and just past the hotel, there is a ramp to a parking deck. I had no trouble finding a space AND if you approach front the other side of the hotel, they have an underground garage. So, parking is no issue. Plus the beach front bar/restaurant next door has AMAZING music and an Emmy award winning guitarist was playing the night I was there. There is NOT nightlife in this area. That is farther south. So, in the fall at least, things kind of close up around 9. Fortunately, I had a wedding to be at and missed the carpets being rolled up. I would have liked a solid chair in my room to sit on while getting dressed. The pull out sofa was REALLY soft. But, I was incredibly comfortable and kind of would have liked to stay for a few more days.

However, in my very short stay here, too many mistakes happened and there was ZERO hospitality or accountability. I was so upset after check in, I get a call from the front office staff member Bonnie and was told that the chairs were sold out for the next day. I was very confused because I thought they were booked when I reserved the room. Bonnie informed me the hotel does not know about the chair reservations until check in. I expressed (very kindly) that this was a HUGE issue because my toddler will need shade for the beach and that I didn’t understand why reserving chairs was even an option upon booking if it would not be guaranteed. Very little sympathy was shown to the point where she said “I do not know how to make you understand”. I told her that reserving chairs for guests at booking should be off the table if this was going to happen and she should share that with her general manager. Secondly, upon arrival our refrigerator was not working. Requested maintenance to come out the next day (since they already had left for the day), but they never came. Luckily we were able to get it working in time before our food/milk for my toddler spoiled. However, never received a call to check in and maintenance was never out to check. Thirdly, the same night of check in, we pulled out the spare couch bed for the kids to find dirty linens on the mattress. Really?! Bonnie again was very little help other than just giving us clean linens. Lastly and even more upsetting, I left a message TWICE to speak to the general manager Libby. I am yet to get a call. Pretty terrible hospitality if you ask me, hence why we will never return and you shouldn’t either. The only positive for the stay was the breakfast. It was included in the price and was delicious!! The service was great and the location was very convenient. We chose a parlor room with a balcony, but it was surprisingly small. There wasn’t even a table—just a single chair squeezed in. We ordered the Farmhouse mixed greens and the hanger steak. The chimichurri must’ve had chilies or something in it to make it more spicy than any chimichurri I’ve had in the past, but the hanger steak itself was tasty and done well. Basically a house turned into a restaurant. Parking can be tricky if you don't get here before 10am so plan accordingly. Especially with street parking scarce. Arrived Sat morning about 9:30. The menu is rather extensive so I looked over pictures to influence my decision. Settled for the classic but was torn between the French toast / Pancakes or a biscuit with sausage gravy. Settled for Bacon In conclusion the breakfast was pretty good. The bacon was crispy like I like it, eggs scrambled nicely. The cheese grits were okay, I’m just used to plain well seasoned grits and mix it with my eggs. The biscuit pretty big, however I didn’t like that they cut the biscuit in half and toasted it. When putting sausage gravy on a biscuit I like the biscuit to be moist and fluffy when I open it so the gravy will soften the biscuit. The toasted sides didn’t allow the gravy to soak well. So it was just okay. My wife got the French toast with strawberries. She liked it very much, however when I tried it, I thought it was rather dry. The toast was a huge thick piece of bread so I like mine soaked through with the egg wash. It was lightly dipped. So for me I wouldn’t order it if I came here again. I know this review seems rather picky but I wanted to give it a thorough review so you can decide for yourself. My honest opinion they nickel and dime you for every thing on the menu. Everything costs extra. The total bill for two people was like $61 That’s just too much for breakfast. I will more than likely not return due to the price. To each his own.

Simple menu with classic variety and good espresso drinks in a beautiful setting. My favorite part though is that you're served in ceramic mugs and plates rather than plastic (unless getting to-go of course). It's so difficult at so many coffee shops to simply get your coffee in an actual mug and not a wasteful, chemical filled plastic cup. I'm relieved to find a coffee shop like Mocama that has adopted the more sustainable and enjoyable approach as standard. Can't wait to be back! Plus they have the cutest little shop kitty 🥹
