It is unquestionably a high end restaurant, with some real high points like the green spaghetti, and my entree, the lamb shank was very good. The service was top notch. The soup was salty though and they have a salad with a soft lettuce that I think is called butter lettuce. The leaves of the lettuce are uncut. They are about 5 inches around and are very floppy. You kind of have to eat them whole because there isn't a good way to cut them. So you look like you are stuffing your face with a giant leaf almost the size of your own face. I returned one of my drinks (a hibiscus tea concoction). The first one was perfection, I ordered another which came out very different and overly sweet. I believe this is the first drink I've returned in my lifetime. So three strikes, at what should be one of the best restaurants in town.

It is also clear that due to the weekly changing of the tasting menu the wait staff can't keep up with memorizing and explaining the dishes. Several had to read off a paper or stumbled over their words which is not a big deal, but it was clear they did not have passion or a connection to any of the dishes. Maybe their regular menu is better, but the tasting menu lacked high quality flavors. Nothing stood out. It is unlikely we will return.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Almost all the dishes were delightful! We tried the tasting menu, and overall we enjoyed it. However I have three complaints about our experience. 1. The steak dish was OKAY. Nothing overly special, it felt like the most underwhelming dish. 2. The dessert was incredibly dense and heavy. The cake seemed old/hard. The palate cleanser was actually more enjoyable than the main dessert. I honestly would have been happy with that AS the dessert. 3. The cocktail list was strange? Every cocktail I tried wasn't my favorite. Thats probably just a ME problem though. I just didn't find any of them appealing to MY personal tastes. We actually came for both, the A Christmas Story house and museum, and Rowley Inn. The food was Delicious and the beer selection was plentiful and great! The poutine with kielbasa was amazing with the peppered gravy! They crushed and orange and cherry into it and did not strain out the seeds. It was not fun drinking something and having to pick seeds out of your mouth. It's also a choking hazard. So drink here at your own risk. When I say it had seeds, I'm saying like 6 to 8 in it. They have talented cooks who seem to care about what they are making and it shows when the food comes out. We met friends for the Sunday brunch. The buffet was well laid out with 4 different areas, typical breakfast items, fruit and salads, meat selection, and desert. The food was outstanding. Sat at the chef's table but it was a Saturday so no pairing menu. Our server Som was very attentive and gave us very good insights on different menu items. We started with the Crispy Calamari. The wasabi soy gave it just the right bite. The Mediterranean Octopus was much different than I expected. Never had octopus before. It was very meaty and not rubbery or fishy at all. And no, it didn't taste like chicken either. Maybe closer to clams. The olives and vinaigrette were a perfect compliment to the flavor. Fresh bread was served with a tomato jam that was amazing. Shrimp and scallops were very large & perfectly cooked. The jalapeno relish added a sweet and spicy bite to it. The polenta was perfect. Reminiscent of shrimp and grits down south. One of the specials was a pan seared grouper served over basmati rice. Again, an excellent pairing. The portions were substantial as well. We would have preferred to not eat everything but our room at the Renaissance didn't have a fridge so taking leftovers was not an option. Oh well. Didn't leave much room for the cheesecake, but we struggled through it and a couple cups of espresso. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back. Definitely have to try the brunch!

A beautiful place with amazing food. If you are looking for a place for a date, this is it. First off, we arrived before opening time and people were already arriving. There is plenty of parking, but it filled up fast within a short time. Walking up the the building and in, the atmosphere and architecture is stunning and cozy. We asked about the building and the owner built it himself many years ago. The chairs are comfy, there is an outside patio with views of Lake Eerie. The food was exactly what you would hope for. From their boxty to their dessert, not a single dish was dissapointing. The corned beef rolls were crisp and delicious, and it had some of the best thousand island dressing ever. Their corned beef boxty was amazing, each bite was a cacophony of flavors. Their soup of the day was clam chowder, and it had whole clams, tasted fresh and was bursting with flavor. Paired with a turkey sandwich on rye, the bread was flavorful as well and the meat tender and juicy. Their Guinness ice cream is so delightful as well (although the brownie bites were rather plain). Overall, it was perfect comfort food that will keep you wanting to come back.
