The service from staff is mostly good but there are also big gaps. First with breakfast: over several days, without exception, the scrambled eggs directly from the kitchen came consistently cold. The staff, whilst usually very friendly, often made mistakes with orders. One even asked if I could separate things on my plate rather than take it back to the kitchen for fixing. The classic king bedroom with view, whilst a premium room, had no fridge and no safe. Ordering through room service: there is an extra charge of £5 and a pizza will come in a cardboard box with small wooden cutlery, all with sustainability in mind of course … One of the pizza had been overcooked, with the base burned and sticking to the cardboard box … clearly not the standard to be expected in a place like this. As for the spa, whilst the facilities are excellent, at the beauty station, the tubs of facial toners are consistently empty. I pointed this out to the staff but it was not fixed whilst I was there. A regular customer told me it was always like this despite numerous requests. I happened to meet a manager who was at reception as I was settling my bill. I asked if they surveyed people after their stay as they were clearly improvements needed. Whilst he assured me that they did, I received no such survey. Overall, the spa facilities and location are what makes the place worthwhile for really good hydrotherapy.

Rooms were really nicely decorated with very comfy bed, coffee machine and decent pillows. Bathroom was very small (room 20) but had a decent shower. Breakfast was little disappointing. As the breakfast opening times were quite short everyone turned up at sort of the same time which made the wait times too long, waited over 40 minutes for scrambled egg on toast which when it came was luke warm. However if I came back to Falmouth I would definitely consider this hotel for the rooms and location.

Our first room was classed as a compact double which was absolutely tiny and quite shabby. So much so that there wasn't room for bedside cabinets on both sides of the bed. I booked a hot stone massage and use of the pool/sauna with my voucher. I arrived on time for my half hour slot in the pool but have to say I was very disappointed with the it. It’s relatively small and had the jacuzzi area closed off with wooden boards for refurbishment. The pool was very busy (even on a Wednesday am) as I think locals are allowed to use the facilities. I tried to swim a couple of lengths but gave up and had a shower and sat outside waiting for my massage. I had asked for a towel which I was sat in and a lovely lady went and got me a robe which was much more comfortable to wear. Thankfully the massage really made my experience worthwhile - Alice was excellent and I really enjoyed it - I would go back again just to see her! The staff I met at the hotel were all excellent and very helpful Hopefully once the spa is refreshed/refurbished the whole experience will be worth doing again

Couldn’t fault it and it was quick out. £12 for a burger and a drink, great value! The service however was shocking and clearly staff have been badly trained. As a party venue, it was fine. The food was very good, given the number of people they were catering for! Location was very convenient, just at the beginning of Falmouth high street, opposite a Tesco Express. Self-Entrance into hotel and room was very easy, and owner allowed us to have a late as we wanted check out the following day which was very kind of him, thank you ! It's in a fantastic spot, close to the ferry and opposite a large Tesco Express to stock up for your hiking meals. There are also loads of places to eat close by so you don't have to walk far if you've been hiking all day! The owner was so kind, I left an T Shirt behind and he very kindly posted it back to me, which i was very grateful for. It is also a 30 minute drive away from Lizard Point & many other places. The town centre is a 10-15 minute walk away. The beach was a minute's walk away. Our booking was non refundable but we had the option to resell the room. However, we felt we would offer it to a homeless person instead so they could experience a night sleep and a full breakfast. The person we gave the room to (a middle aged male) turned up at this hotel the Saturday early evening, he presented them with the booking number and our details, only to be turned away with some spill they needed more information on the booking. This man could not have given them any more details than if we were there ourselves booking in! I complained to the hotel only to be told nobody had turned up and they have CCTV to prove this and that this man must have visited the wrong hotel. I checked again with the man and he is 100 percent sure he had gone to this hotel! I now have mix feelings on this hotel When I initially called them to advise we no longer needed the room on Easter Saturday and asked if we could instead upgrade and use it the following Saturday they said they couldn't (or wouldn't.) When I asked why, I was advised it don't work like that as it's all to do with the computer system wouldn't allow it So this opens my eyes that they're incapable of human empathy or going that extra mile because they have to rely on a computer to decide how to treat a customer I have emailed this hotel twice now and have only received one initial response. They are clearly sticking to their guns and feel they have done everything right I am not going to call or email them again so hopefully through this feedback they can re look into this situation and donate the money that was paid to use the room that wasn't used and donate it to Shelter! I made an initial telephone enquiry regarding my visit, Lisa was exceptionally helpful with with a wonderful telephone manner. In person she's just as professional, helpful and friendly. I arrived early but was allowed to check in early. As a solo traveler I'd booked a single room but had already been bumped up to an excellent double room with harbour views (see attached pic). Thank you guys. The room was clean, spacious and modern. Couldn't ask for more. But the breakfast........wow! Top quality ingredients cooked and presented to perfection. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, sausage , mushrooms, beans, black pudding, sausage slice, tomato (properly cooked), cheese stuffed hash brown and thick wholemeal toast. Didn't need anything else all day (see pic) And, if you're lucky, limited but free parking right outside the hotel 2 minutes walk to the harbour, 3 minutes walk to the town centre. All round it's absolutely ideal.

Did the Maritime Museum then went for lunch at The Mariners just a short walk from the museum. We were greeted with a smile and attended to by an extremely polite and engaging young bar man/waiter. As we waited for our order to arrive we observed an earlier group receive their meals. Amazed by their selection we waited with great expectation for ours to arrive and boy we were not disappointed. Each meal was delicious and more than decent size. I am a vegetarian and had enough options to choose from deciding on pastie and chips from their 2 meals for £14. I thoroughly enjoyed my pastie which was very well made and not the run of the meal processed soft cheese variety. Everyone, four adults and one child agreed that we had eaten well, it was great quality and the staff had been polite and engaging.

The first thing I would say is that if you're in a wheelchair this might not be the best option as no ramp outside or lift inside. The hotel is an older building. But that said it was a nice place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a great selection of Tea's in the room. I would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately as we arrived late evening, they had stopped serving food so I can't comment on that, but the bar area seemed nice and cosy.

Tea coffee making facilities and biscuits which is always a priority for me. The view from our room over looks the marine and a lovely window seating area to people watch from this room no 2. No parking but can park in car park opposit hotel for £1.70 from 5pm till 10am. Breakfast is amazing staff very friendly and helpful haven't eaten in hotel but menu looks very nice. This time we were in Room 3 and it was lovely. The bed was comfortable, the ensuite was clean and the view from the bay window over Grove Place, the marina and out to the river was spectacular.
