I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it was everything you want a Reuben to be. The rye bread was toasted just right, perfectly crispy on the outside but still soft enough to bite into. The sauerkraut had the perfect tang and texture, not soggy at all, and the mustard tied all the flavors together. The pastrami was the real star of the show. You can taste the quality right away, super flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite had that mix of crunch, salt, and savory that just hits perfectly. Didn’t even remember to take a picture because I ate the whole thing so quickly. You can tell they put genuine care into their sandwiches here. It felt like a classic deli experience done right, simple, flavorful, and really satisfying. The staff was friendly, the portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and hot. It’s clear why Norton’s Deli has the reputation it does. Easily one of the best Reubens I’ve had and now one of my favorite lunch spots in Santa Barbara. I've always loved their salad bar and they stay pretty consistent with how good it is. There's been a time or two that the ingredients have been picked over, or things are looking old and wilted. Their soups are consistently delicious, as is their carrot cake! Their other sweet treats are pretty darn good too. The best thing is it is very inclusive of most diets and has a pretty nice selection of vegan and gluten free items, including at some times of year seasonal cakes and pies.. yumm.. However, today in summertime, their were more choices in the salad and entree bar; including some delicious looking pasta salads, and did I mention how high quality all the ingredients are? Today I kept it simple, and got the gluten free vegan snickerdoodle cookies. They are like puffs of sweet satisfying heaven. I can have few with a small latte and just allow my mind to travel and vacation for a moment. The latte which I had for their, in a cup, making it all the more cozy was divine. Steamed well as for the almond mylk, and had a lovely sweet nutty flavor to the espresso. Very quick service btw. Thats the beauty of this place is you can go and get a latte and nosh, or an entire meal and perhaps some wine.. Lucky the waiter/manager noticed us looking awkward and guided us. Brunch menu was varied with great vegan and veggie labeling. They only take walk-ins so we put our name on a list and were told it’d be around 45 minutes. There are a few chairs you can wait for your table in out front- you are also able to order drinks and a few different apps here. The wait time ended up only being around 15 or so minutes. We were escorted inside to a small booth meant for two people and immediately asked if we wanted to order drinks. Two other servers checked in shortly thereafter to make sure we’d been helped. We ended up ordering drinks and a few appetizers as well as an entree to share- the deviled eggs, the chicken meatballs and the Pine Room Salad as well as the fries with dipping sauce. For our entree we ordered the omelette. The appetizers left a bit to be desired in terms of taste and portion sizing. Both the deviled eggs and meatballs came as a serving of 3 which felt like an odd choice since all of the booths inside seat two people and the vast majority of people there were a party of two. The drinks were fairly good and arrived quickly. The best thing that we ordered was the omelette with goat cheese in it. Overall- the service is excellent and friendly but the food left a bit to be desired. Fairly reasonably priced given its location in Montecito.

I was really looking forward to dining here after reading the reviews and seeing that they even have a Michelin star. We sat down at lunch time and the prices were VERY high given the fact that we were looking at pretty basic sandwiches, bowls and tacos. But the hype was real. There is absolutely no way that I could fail to mention the typewriter found in the restroom (multitasking anyone?). That is just the right about of quirkiness to appeal to me and engage my imagination. We’re from out of town and a friend recommended we give this place a try. We came here right before venturing across the street to taste some wine and had a hard time choosing what to order as they had a good size menu with a ton of really tasty sandwich and salad options. I got a short history lesson on it from the newest owner Dave. Apparently the bar has been in existence for quite a long time and now after an amazing remodel it's now a family friendly bar restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It includes plenty of room for small parties. Nighttime entertainment can be enjoyed here weekly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Drinks were delicious and I noticed quite a large array of wines and imported and exported beers. As for the food I chose the creek burger in substitute of the beef for chicken which was delicious. My friends has the French dip and the hickory smoked wings all from a easy to read menu. As with all of my past reviews I will only review a place that I would highly recommend this restaurant definitely fits in that category of a five-star recommendation from this traveler.
