The route is about 6 miles and took us about 3 5 hours although we weren't speedy. Keep an eye out for the yellow direction arrows and you will be fine, although there are a couple of areas where there are no markers for a bit. Spectacular views and we kind of wished we had taken a picnic but sadly we didn't. The route can be steep up and down hill in places and there are a few sets of steps. Also the path especially through wooded areas can be uneven and rough under foot and there are a couple of obstacles to navigate, but then this is a country walk. The paths around Claverton down are very flat and easy under foot. Was nice seeing they were restoring dry stone walls. Definitely wear sensible shoes and take water 👌It's a good route and has stunning views, if you take small children expect to end up carrying them. Probably not suitable for people unsteady on their feet. Definitely worth the experience and we walked back to the city centre along the canal.

The ibis is a bit out of the way so taxi to nearest restaurant if you want a trip out. Ibis staff were all helpful and friendly although we felt room a bit on the poor side,one or two marks on wall and similar with holes in wall? Only there one night, had we been there a few we would have been less happy. Coach had to have a stop on route at motorway services and because of slot in Bath for drop off,we had to kill an hour, not the best. Yes, there was a live actor in there with me who made me briefly see the afterlife! The live actor was incredible and really seemed to love his job of scaring people. I’ll now be bringing friends so they too can experience the basement!

There is also SO much to look at, each room has so many props and pictures and trinkets and the stairways are covered in the most amazing posters. It just gets better and better the higher up you go and there is something to touch or play with or listen to on every floor. The National Trust don't run this the local council do, it's free for all to see it but if you want to also see the fashion museum you need to pay. They still have a guidebook. We parked on the park and ride and got the bus in so parking wasn't much of an issue. It was easy to find. I really thought the chandeliers were breathtaking. Really stunning. I was able to go into each of the room (although one was being used for a function so I just saw it behind a rope. I didn't mind this but if you go expecting to have a good look in the room it may be best to ring ahead). I caught a performance of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf' which was just terrifically dark and witty. A great cast, who very well portrayed incredibly rich and complicated characters. As for the venue itself, it is a charming and cosy little studio, highlighting the real rawness of stage theatre, with exceptionally priced drinks and intermission treats, but if you don't like rubbing shoulders with strangers, maybe find shows that are a bit quieter in numbers. As for the accessibility, there are toilets located on a number of floors, with accessibility being on the ground level, and a lift to get to the floor seating of the studio, however there is not one to the gallery.
