We were surprised with how great the food was. Our meals were very enjoyable. The drinks and wine list were good, also. The highlight of the night was definitely the music. There were two performances, one starting a little after 9 PM and another one about 45 minutes later. Service was good overall but the place gets really busy, so expect that service may be a little more relaxed. The service is professional. Top notch. We have a number of food allergies and they were very knowledgeable and careful. We felt very well looked after. The menu is online and is excellent. I didn't think I liked octopus until I tried their appetizer. I realize i've never had it properly cooked. The setting has great acoustics. And the shows were wonderful. Starting at nine, the lights dim, food service stops, an artist comes out with two guitarists, and performs five fado songs. There's a 20 minute break, the lights come on and service resumed. We were very fortunate enough to stumble across this amazing restaurant on October 16th. We had originally planned a different dinner spot that night but we ended up not staying at that location. As we were walking around, I happened to hear music coming from inside the restaurant but the doors were closed. We did not want to interrupt so we stayed outside the door looking at the hours of operation trying to figure out if we could do a reservation for the following day. Soon enough the main hostess, Marcella, who we absolutely adore and was beyond amazing in her hospitality towards us, came outside and said if we were looking to take part in dinner. We let her know we would love it but we saw that the show had already started and we do not want to interrupt what was happening because we heard that during this time there shouldn't be any interruptions for the performers. She said it was no problem and guided us into the restaurant and put us on a side table so that we could watch the current set. From there the evening just became super magical. The set menu which was roughly 60 Euro per person was spectacular. The appetizers that came out first was a smorgasbord of food, spices, and unbelievable flavors. We each were able to get a bottle of wine and hands down paired so well with all the food that came out. Again I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our experience here especially the live music where we were able to see at least three sets from the time we sat down roughly around 10:00 p.m. to the time we left which is around 2:00 a.m.. There was definitely foot traffic going up and down the alleyways but it was very chill. People were smiling, laughing, and just overall having a good time as the night progressed. We never got the name of our server, and I call that out because multiple people throughout the night came up to him and gave him a big hug, some were extremely excited to see him because they didn't think he still worked there, and others were appreciative of the time they had with him. Overall it sounded like this individual had been there for years and actually trained a lot of the folks on how to have a great restaurant experience. Hands down we would definitely come back the food again was super fresh, the flavors were just so well balanced based on the sauces that they had and the crunch when it came with the texture depending on what you ordered.
