The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and we booked our table through the Greene King website. The menu makes it look like a spirit with a dash of mixer is £4.40, which is reasonable, but they then charge an extra £2.20 just for the dash of mixer. £6.40 for a single vodka with a small splash of Coke in a half-pint glass is pretty unreasonable, especially for a simple pub drink. The very helpful staff behind the bar and the manageress all tried their best to put the voucher through but sadly with no success. I think it is a problem with the gift card set up rather than their problem. They insisted on only charging us for our drinks and not for the food to make up for the hassle we had had. This was way beyond what we would have expected as it wasn't their fault, in addition to this the food was amazing and the service 1st class. The staff could not of done enough for us, the service they provided to get all our meals out at the same time was impressive, service at the bar was super quick. It was great! The best things about this restaurant are the food and the vibe, as well as the view. You need to come here hungry as the food portion is very substantial. Took our orders for coffee. Coffee tepid not hot. We spoke another couple who had been there a few days and stated it could be up to an hour before breakfast is served. We decided to leave without breakfast 15 minutes later. As we handed in the key the lady was on the phone asking if anyone was coming in to help with breakfast!! The ambience was lacking, bar staff very unwelcoming, and front of house lacking completely. Seating very basic, and staff had no interest in your opinion. We came by train so if you are doing this hotel be aware it is a good 15 minute walk from the station. On the way back we cut through road to pier much shorter and more pleasant walk. Our room wasn't ready on arrival, fair enough we were early. So we sat outside and had a drink and lunch. I had a coronation chicken sandwich with crisps and my husband had toast and pate he loved it. Both ample portions. It was £24 for the meal a pint of beer and half a pint cider which we thought was very reasonable. The view was spectacular and we were kept amused by the seagulls swooping on the sea. Our room was really lovely and we could see the sea. As you walked in you walked into a living room with good quality bedroom furniture. TV and teamaking facilities. Proceed through the arch into the bright bedroom with another tv and bedside cabinets Bed really comfy and comfy pillow too. Proceed through bedroom into a light airy bathroom with a lovely large shower cubicle. It was a good shower too, good water pressure. We then went to indoor pool for a swim, it was a lovely pool and you could walk in from stairs rather than using those awful rails that most pools have. We didn't eat dinner here but came back after we'd eaten and sat outside watching the fish jump out of the water and then a bonus we saw a seal who was catching the fish and eating them. Breakfast was lovely buffet, then cooked breakfast if you want. Friendly staff and nice food. If I had to have a negative it would be the outside pool was closed and it was full of seagulls swimming about. All that sea and they were in the pool. I did mention to nice girl on reception and she said it was going to be refurbished and would then be manned to keep away gulls. We had a lovely stay and would strongly recommend this hotel and friendly staff.

It's got everything, a warm welcome comfy, clean rooms with a sea view. A restaurant, a bar huge outside space. An indoor and outdoor pool and a gym.
