We did not book in advance and went on the off chance as we wanted a meal at sunset, luckily they had a table for 4 and soon as we were seated we were offered a free drink and an appetiser which was lovely. The food was very good and the service too. We were seated outside under a canopy overlooking the harbour which added to the experience. This place looked ok from the outside and the menu offer looked like great value for money. We were seated easily, and served by the pleasant enough waiter. Our food arrived after a reasonable wait, but what a disappointment it was. Cold potatoes, undercooked chicken (raw) and flavourless prawns. A disappointing meal. But, after a nice discussion with the waiter one of our meals was complemented making the bill a little less harder to swallow. I’m sure on a good day this is a pleasant place to eat. Not today for us.

They're willing to sell and also hope that the new owners will keep on the staff. If they do sell and the staff is not retained this would be a huge loss to the strip, and a sad day for the little Elm. If Hubby ever wins the lotto he would seriously consider buying this restaurant. And then forcing the staff to stay on. I'm not sure if this constitutes as slavery, but for Lanzarote it would be worth it. The staff is unbelievably friendly and really put some thought and effort behind their meals. A shout out to the main front of house servers Gary and Julie, friendly and always willing to have the chat. They have really gone for proper good old-fashioned English food. It absolutely shows in every dish that they make. But the biggest thing for Lanzarote is that this place is 100% consistent. A lot of cafes and restaurants on the strip can be great one day and absolutely terrible the next. Not here, the little Elm is consistently great all day every day. However there are a problems, the biggest is the size and the short opening hours. And completely understandable as it's a small place with a big heart. On the two days that we visited, we were very lucky to be seated both times. Hubby and Wifey recommend not only visiting every day of your holiday, but to also book a week in advance for every day. This place is always packed to the gills. Normally you would try Spanish food when visiting a Spanish country. However this place offers a fantastic taste of home and the quality is outstanding. On a first night wifey went with the chicken liver pate and the steak pie mains. Hubby went with the barbecue ribs and wings and the oven-bake cod mains. All of these dishes were Moorish, filling, and a slice of home on a plate. A real testament to the chef, who I believe is Kerry. The steak pie was fantastic, and also homemade, the steak was absolutely so tender and delicious in its own gravy. The cod risotto was so creamy and the fish so delicious. Hubby also enjoyed the lager Victoria Malaga. Which was a different choice offered to the other lagers on the strip. Highly recommend. If there is one day you must visit, wifey and hubby recommend a Sunday. Where the option of a roast is available. That's why we had to return for the second day so we could try that. Wifey tried the fried lamb's liver with bacon and onion. She couldn't stop talking about it. Hubby doesn't like offal, but even he had to admit that it was absolutely delicious. Especially in its onion and gravy sauce with mash. But for hubby, the real joy was the Sunday roast. Hubby went for beef, but was told that a combination of all of the meats are available on the same plate. However that just felt a little bit too greedy. And a proper Sunday roast should always be beef. It was fantastic, and especially the roast potatoes. As often restaurants will deep fat fry and cheat the roast potatoes. The little Elm does not cheat, maybe not the healthiest choice, but by God these roast potatoes, and this roast dinner was so full of flavours. We even tried some desserts afterwards. So delicious as we stuffed ourselves full of apple pie and bread and butter pudding. Our eyes ordered, our taste buds enjoyed, and our bursting to the brim stomachs complained afterwards. We certainly needed a siesta, a moment to catch our second wind. We've spoken to other people on the strip. All say the same thing about the little Elm that consistency is right up there and you'll get a great meal. Everybody you'll talk to will recommend.

After making a booking on line and being told the only time available for the restaurant would be 6pm. (We would of liked to book a table for 8pm). We spent 2 hours having dinner and we was the only diners in the restaurant apart from 1 other table of two. The restaurant had no other bookings for the whole of the evening. After asking about the situation, we was told the restaurant had changed hands and this is how the booking system works. The owner only offers a early table first. Having restaurants and bars ourselves, we have never heard of this system before. We made the booking as we had read such good reviews, and assumed all other times were fully booked. Julia the waitress was very good and gave great service, the starters were good, and would of highly reccomended the slow cooked belly pork. The Pimms Royal was undrinkable and the special Beef Wellington was small and over cooked. Unfortunately the evening we was all looking forward to was ruined by having to be seated at 6pm.
