The Pina Colada was okay, frozen base and you can’t really taste the liquor or even know if it did have liquor after request, but it was still good. However the food was okay, had the yuca mofongo and wasn’t really my favorite it was dry and not it with my fried chicharrones. The best thing to eat with the pinones, was the best thing I had there. The ambience was quiet and the staff was very friendly but they also had a lot of items that weren’t available to order too.

With our 39 guests, Oceano's 2nd floor provided plenty of room for dancing and partying and we were not disturbed by any patrons and music volume was never an issue. Then I unhappily took a bite, the meat was undercooked (i ordered medium rare) and it was not tender at all.....how in the world did they manage to do that?! then I tried the halibut......it was sooo dry..... I asked for the floor manager and told him about the fish, and he happily sent it back and brought us back a new plate, we cut the fish through and it was raw inside. We sent it back again. Third time did turn out to be a charm. Nothing to complain about anymore, but the meat was not impressive, not even memorable. I do have to admit, the sweet potato mash with the avocado and papaya salad on top was definitely the golden star of that dish, and was in fact probably my favorite food I had in my entire PR trip. The flavor of it is brilliant: sweet potato, savory mash, with purple onion, slightly sweet but delightfully juicy papaya, then creamy avocado, and then a little bit of cilantro. They followed all covid protocols, allowing only 5 people in at a time in order to temperature check and hand sanitize. The waiter was friendly and attentive, gave us the specials, took our drink orders, and answered all questions. The drinks were made well, the food order was taken and repeated to us to ensure no errors were made. The food came out hot, on time, and at proper internal temperatures for consumption. Everything was delicious! I recommend the lamb chops with a side of greens as they can be filling. I recommend the creme Brule, again it's large enough for two people. The restroom was clean and tidy. The staff wore masks and kept everything clean. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to a leak in the ceiling that was dripping down on my guest during dinner that was brought to the attention of the staff but never really handled throughout the night. It was mentioned to the manager on the way out and he was apologetic which was appreciated. Overall the experience was great and we all had a wonderful time. All three of our steaks were cooked completely wrong. I ordered medium well and got something much less definitely undercooked. My friend asked for medium rare, and hers came out even more raw than mine. Her husband also asked for medium rare, but his steak came out well done. The server saw our plates and could tell something was off. I decided to just deal with mine, and so did my friend. But her husband, whose steak was clearly the most overcooked, asked for a new one. When they brought the second one out, it was ice cold and basically rare. I’ve attached a photo so you can judge for yourself. It super disappointing. What made it worse was that even though our server was very kind and helpful, the kitchen staff and manager clearly saw the steaks and acted like nothing was wrong. He was very informative over the phone and told me they could accommodate a gluten allergy. He also mentioned three specific items on the menu that I couldn’t have and assured me everything else could be prepared gluten free. When we arrived at the restaurant we sat at the bar. Our waitress Odrix was amazing. I told her I had a gluten allergy and she shared that she also had an allergy. She’s allergic to almonds so she knew exactly where I was coming from. She confirmed the same three items that Leo had told me I couldn’t have which was very reassuring. She also gave me some great recommendations. She suggested the seafood salad which was amazing and the red snapper. This ended up being my best dining experience in Puerto Rico. I ate at several restaurants during my trip including at the resort where we stayed and they basically all said all we have is salad. This place truly stood out for its service understanding and flavorful gluten free options.
