I am a vegetarian so I always order the vegetable plate and everything is Fresh and good and not heavy or drenched in butter. For dessert always get the carrot cake and love it.

Got to speak with the chef who walked our table through the menu for those with allergies, and we had a great experience. Dessert was almost too much by the time we were done. It was a nice relief from the late July heat. Wait time for us (party of 8).was roughly around 15 minutes, which was phenomenal, considering it was a packed house. Our server was terrific and energetic. Very tentative and checked on our party to make sure everything was to our liking. The wait for our food wasn't horrible either. Gorgeous views. While we waited for a table, we sat at the bar and had a few drinks. The bartenders were excellent. Very friendly and always checked on us. We liked the outdoor seating although it was blistering hot that day. The chimmichuri steak was excellent. Service though was a different story. The goats are very friendly & ready for some snacks. I’ve never seen a restaurant with live goats like a mini petting zoo. I loved this though! The sandwiches were piled with meat on a totally fresh bun. The grilled onions were an original side with that smokey flavor. The pinto beans and cornbread were right up there next to heaven. You have a choice of 6 or so sauces to test and enjoy. They bring you cabbage to feed the goats that are wondering around the property. When you ring the bell, they come a-runnin'!. We had no wait and sat on the wrap around porch. Cute, quiet neighborhood view. The waitress was abrupt (found out hostess didn’t show up & they were stressed). The food came out hot and looked good but there was absolutely no flavor to anything! The potatoes had heat but no taste- weird. The famous pancake had no flavor and we likened it to something that the pioneers would make at a campfire- like a cornbread type cake. While we sat outside the smell of garbage became strong and it was 73 degrees. The parking situation was kind of frustrating because most of the neighbors who live close to the restaurant have no parking signs at their house and there is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. They let us have both smoked chicken and pulled pork on ours. The chicken was perfectly smoked, juicy and tender as was the pulled pork. Sometimes restaurants over smoke their meats and then I feel like I am chewing on a briquet. The Purple Daisy was not this way at all, again it was perfectly smoked. The potato also had sour cream and the fixins on it. The potato was nearly the size of a football and we did not even eat it all. We chose to use both of the BBQ sauces they had on the table. The server was nice and had great suggestions. If we vacation near here again we will come back!

However, overall, the food at this restaurant was disappointing, both in terms of portion size, balance, and flavor. For lunch, we ordered the steak skirt bento box, the spicy crab noodles, and the sunny side maki roll. First, the bento box came with a single skewer of steak which wasn't enough (the meat was also charred). While there were plenty of vegetables in the bento box, after finishing, I was still hungry. My son seemed to like his meal though. My sister got their eggs benefit and her husband got the monte cristo which he said wasn’t all that great.
