Unfortunately only got about 1.5 days on the resort before we decided it was best for us to leave before the hurricane struck. But I wanted to personally thank our butlers and the staff for helping us come to an informed decision. The time we did spend the food was amazing the staff were knowledgeable, helpful and sooo kind! The food is delicious, however there are some that I would avoid, such as El Patio. The a la carte dinners also took a long time, up to 2 hours if you also have dessert, which lead to long wait times if you don't arrive close to opening at 6:00. The app was also not accurate, listing hours for each restaurant, which changed our plans more than once when we arrived to a closed restaurant. Room service was quite slow at times, so we only ordered breakfast which was more prompt. Unfortunately, that was not nearly the case. The overall facility appears outdated and does not meet five-star expectations. The rooms are relatively small but generally clean; however, the pillows were noticeably poor in quality. The pool is rather small and shallow, which might be typical for a smaller resort. The entertainment is limited. The hotel is situated on a shallow lagoon rather than direct access to the open sea. On the plus side, the water is very warm and calm, with no waves. On the downside, it’s not ideal for swimming, as the water is less clean than the open sea and there is a significant amount of seaweed in the shallow areas. Included activities are limited to a single sailing boat, kayaking, and snorkeling excursions offered three times a week. The snorkeling spot at the nearby reef is disappointing, with 99.9% dead coral and sparse marine life—though we did spot two skates. Overall, this resort seems best suited for guests who prefer relaxing by the pool with drinks. Service was inconsistent. We repeatedly had to ask for towels and bath mats—staff removed the used items but often did not replace them. While some waitstaff were attentive, many were slow and unresponsive during dinner. Room service takes an average of 2 hours and the order was never correct. We signed up for an ATV & Water excursion. It was a two hour commute to location and another 90 minute wait for activities. Very disappointing trip! The work out room has broken equipment with no air. Towels are not replenished or replaced. We got them ourselves. The window in the bathroom is too transparent to leave the light on while showering. The refrigerator keeps items “not warm” certainly not cool. Upon complaining a rep for Zoetry said Jamaica location receives a lot of complaints. Info needed prior to booking! Run for the hills! Don’t come here! Finally, I am allergic and have a fear of cats. I have been to Jamaica 6 times over the last 15 years. This resort was the biggest disappointment I have ever encountered not only in Jamaica but out of anywhere I have ever been. I’ll start by saying the food was terrible. They never had what was showed on the menu, and you do not have any options. There is one place to eat breakfast, 2 places for lunch, and one place for dinner. Expect to wait an hour to eat anything, that would be for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or room service. We had the fire alarm go off twice on back to back nights anywhere from 12:40 to 2:00 am. The beach is terrible, it is small and has very little to no sandy areas for beach activities. The pool is small and does not have a pool bar. They do not have music anywhere on the resort, there is no entertainment during the day. I could write a novel about how terrible the food was, and how disappointed my family was with this place. My daughters ordered room service one night and they just never brought it. It is poorly managed, and very inconsistent. Most of the foliage on the resort is dead, the flowers, palm trees, and grass were brown. The various fountain areas were not maintained and had stagnated water in them. This resort opened in 2016 and looks like it was falling apart. I guess, the only purpose I could see going to this resort for would be to rest. It is dead quite, but the lack of beach, and swimming area would even destroy that part of your trip. The drinks are terrible, they were often out of drinks they advertised as well. The only thing consistent here is that everything is inconsistent. I am a Hyatt UVC member and will be filing a complaint on Monday. This place honestly should be pulled from the Hyatt line up. It is beyond me that they would want their name associated with it. I have never left a resort more disappointed than this one. I caution anyone considering going here, do your research so you don’t ruin your vacation.

Food was consistently of the poorest quality. Staff's hands were tied with no ownership toward work. This was mimicked by lack of ownership in Management for the experience of their guests. Spoke with manager only to get acknowlegement of the deficiencies and no corrective actions. For example, ordered room service through Manager on duty at 9:30. After waiting in dining area for over an hour to eat from the dinner menu. Room service came at 12:01 am. This resort has is All inclusive with no inclusive amenities. We managed our way thru chairs falling through the outdoor decking only to have management acknowledge the danger after the fact will $0. We suffered through meal after meal of pre-cooked poorly prepared food. While all inclusive cocktails were available it consisted of the lowest caliber of alcoholic beverage at all bars and a pint if rum in the room. Staff was friendly and very kind but clearly untrained. King Ocean view was the only nice thing. Limited dining choices. Pub with games for tourists was unmanned with no air, no bar, and very uninviting. As a repeat visitor I am disappointed in in current ownership. Tons of opportunities dismissed.

First let's start with the room. It was nice sized and right on the beach with a great bathroom. Negatives about the room is the ventilation fan in the bathroom did not work. Next the service was decent. Most of the bartenders were fairly rude and took awhile to get you a drink. As for restaurants we tried them all. Now for location it is fantastic, you are literally right on the beach and we spent most of our days in the ocean or longue by a pool until dinner time. Very relaxing and beautiful. I stayed here back in June 2025. My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for my 30th birthday so we got a butler suite Thursday - Sunday. My experience was not recommendable. We were not made aware that the hotel was under renovations which blocked several views that was promised in the lobby and restaurants. The room was okay - bed was super uncomfortable. I expected more for a honeymoon suite room. My boyfriend now fiancé planned a beautiful proposal on the beach and hired their photographer AND HE MISSED THE MONEY SHOT. The picture of him on his knee on the beach was not taken and the next day when we saw the pictures the staff and manager had big attitudes and we basically had to beg for them to comp us just $400. The proposal and photographer was hundreds of dollars more than that. They wasted several hours of our last night and morning “waiting for a manager” Christopher (one of the 3 managers we talked to) who still couldn’t do anything and had to escalate things more but it would take more time. Staff rude especially at the photo place - DO NOT GET KEVIN AS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER. It’s like pulling teeth trying to get managements attention. We sent an email to Vernon Johnson the General Manager in hopes to get compensation for the money my fiancé paid for the photographer. Doubt we’d get a response. I am an avid traveler and a travel agent. You are better off staying at a nicer resort where you can’t hear airplanes taking off every 30min.

From he first time stepping off the plane, 5 star experience sandals lounge with red stripe and red stripe light on tap. The staff all were overly amazing. Then the strorm hit wrecked the the place. At this point I would like to give them 7 stars. The way the staff took care of us during this storm not being able to get ahold of there own families while displaying smiles and comfort for us. I would like to make two huge shout outs to Vernon which I believe was the general manager stayed very professional and also went above in beyond keeping us updated and always accessible. Daneree which luckily happened to be our neighbor was so comforting, informative, genuine, a absolutely breathe of fresh air and again i repeat she was also a person who didnt know if her family was safe or still went out her way every chance she got to make sure we was good and tht includes the whole staff. All the days we wasnt able to fly out was complimentary which later I found out alot of places charged a distress rate ate 700 dollars but not sandals. They fed us everyday 3 meals one being oxtails and and another being surf and turf this is my first experience in Jamaica and sandals. Im here to say the best experience of customer experience I've ever saw. I strongly recommend every visit this resort its worth it. Ill definitely be booking with them again.

Selucia (part of the bridal planning team at the hotel) was very rude and unprofessional to me the bride. This was supposed to be a happy and stress free day for me. However, my reception was in an old, smelly and super large space that wasn’t cut out for my wedding guests as an alternative bc they thought it was going to rain and my original space request appeared to no longer be available. When I walked into the space I cried bc nothing I asked was done for my reception and Selucia was apart of it. Every time my husband and I think back on the amount of money spent for our wedding compared to the experience it was definitely unmatched. I would have never had my wedding here if I knew my experience would have been a nightmare like it was with Selucia. I don’t even have any good pics from my reception unfortunately bc the space my reception was held looked so bad. If I could do it again this is a good vacation spot but not for weddings. After countless calls to management months later we were offered a two day stay to come back and have a better experience.

The wedding and the reception both very nice and enjoyed myself. Now that i've gotten the pleasantries out of the way I can tell you my honeast review about this waste of space. 1. It is not technically in Montego Bay its about 40 minutes away from the airport. They brand it as Montego Bay for tourism. When you're there you literally cannot leave because there's nowhere to walk and there arent any taxis. You're stuck for the most part. 2. The service! Check in is hell. They dont have a process for checking people in so its a mess. Expect to be at the desk trying to check in for at minimum 90 minutes to 2 hours. My check in was around 2 hrs maybe a little more. 3. And this should honestly be at the top of the list. THE FOOD IS HORRID! Every buffet is the worst food i have quiet possibly had in my life. The omelette bar is nice, i recommend eating there every morning because everything else is terrible. 4. THEY HAVE BED BUG! Initially, i got bit once and chalked it up to a misquito or two. Then the following day I had bites all over my body! I mean everywhere! Im not taking pictures of my full body but i attached a photo of one arm. Mind you, it is like this all over both arms, my back, stomach and legs. If you take nothing else from this please save your money. I would never do a resort again especially a Royalton one, for the price I paid I should have enjoyed this stay a lot more. It took me almost 3 days to meet my butler while everyone else with my group met theirs and was getting help by them. The one thing I asked for was a bottle in my room and some extra direct coke mixers and it took 2 days to get the bottle and I never got the sodas. The locks in my room kept screwing up and locking me in the room and I put in a work order and the closed it and then it happened again pretty much every day that stay, I almost was too late to the wedding because of the door. The drinks and food were pretty sad, I was tired of rum by the end of the week and most of the bars have low quality alcohol. Literally all the restaurants sucked. I was able to find a little bit of decent food but I was so disappointed by the quality of the food most was bland or just plain horrible. The steakhouse would be out classed by Applebees. Yeah I won’t do another all inclusive after this experience for sure will never stay at a Royalton again. I paid extra for the diamond club and didn’t get to use it all so complete waste of funds for this trip.

It is far from 5 stars. Roaches, power outages, the worst customer service (specifically management) to name a few. Upon check in we placed our items in the room, changed and went to the pool. We were told reservations are needed for the restaurants on property. When we went to make the reservation via the app and in person we were told all the restaurants were fully booked until Tuesday (except the Indian restaurant). Our checkout date was Tuesday and we were not able to get the reservations for main restaurant we wanted (hibachi). Additionally once we kept asking for a reservation, we received the latest time and if the food was wrong or not good, the kitchen would be closed after we were served. When I go to an all-inclusive Autograph collection, I expect a rodent free room. Unfortunately, that did not occur. We had roaches in our room on the 6th floor the first night (around 10p). They were in the bed we laid in, in my clothing and around the room. We tried to report it and speak to management but they were unavailable at that time. The staff did not seem surprised at all, told us to bring a few things for the night into the new room. The front desk gave us another room on the 4th floor and told us we would need to switch again the next day. The next day, I went to the front desk to speak to management several times throughout the day. I provided my phone number twice was told to come back at 9a, at noon and then I was told to set up a time for a meeting. I was begging to speak to someone and they refused. We even filled out a written complaint Sunday. No one to this day has called me back during our stay. After switching to our 3rd room as requested by the front desk, I was stepping into the shower and the entire resort went out of power. No A/C, no W-Fi, which meant I couldn’t communicate with my family. I reported this to the Marriott customer service line. I have put forth so much effort to speak with management and they did not attempt to assist during our stay. It has taken approximately 5 months for someone in leadership to respond. The rooms were nice, but lacking aesthetics for a five star resort. Our balcony had two lawn chairs and a table which you could have gotten at HomeGoods. Our room was supposed to come with snacks. It did not our mini bar consisted of two beers, four waters two sprites and two cokes. However, the buffet outside at the restaurant was great. We had dinner at the Indian restaurant and our server, Brandon was the best part of the trip. Customer Service is lacking, especially at the front desk, the drinks all were delicious. The food in the buffet area had quite limited selections.. The food was mediocre in my humble opinion (and I'm Jamaican born) The service is subpar.. I understand people in Jamaica are quite brash and nonchalant at the same time however, when you provide a service especially to foreigners, there has to be a mental shift. It is not acceptable to act as though you are doing us a favour..We work hard, and make decisions to come to the resorts to relax, rejuvenate and have a good time. It is only reasonable that we leave feeling our funds were well spent. The staff, manager included needs customer service training. There are tons of places including other countries that we can go to, so coming to the resort we do not expect to be treated with scant regard. For the Royalton Brand, this is unacceptable! It is not five star and as I read the reviews I agree with those folks..I am utterly disappointed and will never return and anyone who asks, I will tell them a resounding no to coming to this place..there are better places in Jamaica with respectable service. This was my second visit to this resort and I do not believe there will be a third. I cannot explain enough how much the staff made, what was supposed to be a Wedding Preview visit, the most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had at a resort. Having visited the Royalton brand before, we were excited to select this location for our wedding. The brand offers 3 discounted nights to preview visit once you have paid a $500 deposit for your wedding. So we took advantage of the opportunity to visit before our wedding next year… HIGHLIGHTS: The beach is beautiful and almost every set of chairs have an umbrella for shade. The ares for children has an exciting feel. Children could really entertain themselves in the water areas. The suites/rooms are nice. They could use some professional maintenance though. SERVICE: HORRIBLE. Waiting 45 minutes to check-in or even be greeted/acknowledged by anyone at the desk is unacceptable. There were four to five people behind the counter but only two are actually checking guests in. The others are just there for decoration, I guess. We didn’t get an explanation of where to find anything on the property. They put wrist bands on us and directed us to the bellman. 97% OF THE STAFF SEEMED ANNOYED BY OUR PRESENCE. It always felt like we were bothering them. Even just to be sat at a table in the restaurant. The staff did not make us feel excited about being there. I came to the conclusion that Royalton does not pay their staff enough and most of them hate their jobs. The staff definitely does not follow the Marriott 15-5 rule. WEDDING PLANNING STAFF: I had to send an email asking the staff where to go for the meeting we had scheduled to even receive any communication from them. The wedding team staff member, Kashane Thompson, was not pleasant and her demeanor and body language seemed that we were bothering her to have this meeting. A meeting that had been scheduled a month prior. She didn’t have any of our information readily available and pretty much asked how she could help us, as if our wedding wasn’t already booked. She took us to see the venues but there was not an ounce of enthusiasm. She didn’t even seem to be interested. We were planning to have 100+ guests and this meeting and resort staff took away any level of excitement I had about it being there. I even reached out to the wedding department manager and never received any return communication from him up to today. Wedding planning staff pressured us to block rooms to lock in rates for our guests. On top of the $500 wedding deposit, We’ve spent $2000 for rooms to get good rates for our guests. In summary, if you don’t care about the food, service and friendliness of the staff, this is your place. As for the wedding, I don’t want any of my guests to experience what we experienced while we were there. We checked out and went to another resort for a couple of days before we fly out today.

Shadeen (wedding planning office) went above and beyond. To add some further detail, my wife and I had been planning our vowel renewal in Jamaica through Sandals and it was poor. HOWEVER, as soon as we get to the resort Shadeen makes it look effortless and there is no stress. Her attention to detail and "customer first" approach is great. She made our vowels renewal exactly what we wanted, thank you Shadeen you were amazing! Our butlers lan and Nicole were exceptional and in all honesty they made our stay. Both made our individual birthdays special and made us feel special on each. To be honest, I think if we didn't have lan and Nicole I don't think our stay would of been what it was, they were amazing, friendly, professional and easy going, thank you both. The maintenance team on the beach were also great and keep the beach in pristine condition whilst also being pleasant and professional. Few comments for improvement. My wife and I went to the sushi restaurant in Montego Bay and was met with abit of hostility when asking for Perrier water that we had thought our butler had arranged, it was as if the server w looking down on us, however she did warm u wards the end.

They stored my luggage and was more than happy to assist me with settling in on the premises until my room was ready. The room was exquisite, the only downside was that the gentleman that took me to my room spoke so fast and could have taken time to explain things a little more as I felt lost on the first night there. Throughout the stay, staff members went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, special thank to all the staff in Cricketer's pub, you were all superb. My house keeper Terry-Ann was so lovely, thanks again. The highlight of my trip though was Patricia at front desk. I had a late flight back home and stayed on the premises until it was time to leave. I was told earlier my a team member that I could use that facilities at the gym to have a shower and get changed. Patricia, however gave me access to a room to have a shower and get changed. Now, that is what you call going above and beyond. Thank you so so much and I cannot wait to come again as this was an absolutely breathtakingly epic experience, PS the fire dance was incredible!

Everything and everyone were fantastic. Food, service, drinks, vibe, top notch as usual. We enjoyed a swim out suite and it was so fun having our own pool area and sundeck. We spent a day on the island at the pool and beach bar and it was quiet and uncrowded. Royal Caribbean is much smaller and laid back than Sandals Montego Bay down the road, but you have privileges at both. Totally enjoyed our relaxing time.

We were told it was because of “construction,” but that story fell apart when we discovered Secrets St. James was still open and guests were staying there. Most of the days we were out and about on excursions. Our rooms were clean but often housekeeping didn’t clean for example the sink or the cups on the table, or replenish our hand soap. On Sunday 10/12/2025 there was a roach in the room, we thought nothing of it and smashed it and went to sleep. On 10/13 we saw 3 more roaches. There was two that we smashed and 1 got away. It was late In evening we decided to contact the front desk. Where we were greeted with an attitude even tho we did nothing wrong. We spoke to the manager and he didn’t offer anything but an apology. Once we returned to the room we found another roach and saw that they were coming from the refrigerator compressor (pictures attached). The front desk was contacted again where then we were offered to switch rooms at 2230pm. The bellhop met us and took us to a new room. The manager didn’t check back in until the next day and offered us points due to the inconvenience which is not acceptable. We wanted to come there and have a nice time for our wedding anniversary and ended up not having the best time of our trip. Something needs to change, because I spent a lot of my money for this resort and preferred club and to not get service that I pay for is unacceptable. We probably wouldn’t stay at a Hyatt resort ever again.

Please be aware that many of the positive reviews for this resort are incentivized, which hides the truth. Save yourself the money — this place is a complete scam and nowhere near a 5-star resort. From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. We were told our room was “no longer available” and were moved to a different resort (St. Orchid). They claimed the entire building was under construction but we later found out that was a lie. The resort wasn’t closed at all; guests were still staying at Secrets St. James. They had simply overbooked and pushed us elsewhere. The property itself is rundown, poorly maintained, and infested with bugs. Drugs are openly sold on-site, and some of the maintenance staff try to extort guests for tips. Staff members even asked to take beers from our fridge and drinks from our cooler, which was one of the most invasive and uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had on vacation. The “$200 resort coupon” is another con it’s only redeemable in small portions toward overpriced spa services, and you’ll be constantly harassed to spend more. I’ll be escalating my full experience to the Jamaica Tourism Board, because nothing is being done to fix these issues. The staff was very nice and very friendly. I only stayed one night so I didn't get to use the pool but they said it stayed open late and when there someone was vibin out there because we could here the music. The room had a very nice view of the terrace which I didn't get video of . The breakfast was included and it wasn't my cup of tea. It could have been local cuisine but it was a no for me. Also the staff is friendly like I said but if you are wanting to go to the airport outside of the shuttle time..get your own transportation 4 minute ride was $20 in a taxi they called uber would have been cheaper.

Don't be deceived by the pictures on their website. Ant infestation, bees everywhere on the corridors. Rooms need upgrades, bathroom faucets leaking, toilet won't flush. Breakfast at the restaurant was average despite service for most part was good. This is also not a so called hotel but more like a hotel! It's strip-line. For what you pay, I expected for more my $$...it's a costly motel about 7-10 mins from the strip. So not even easy to walk down hill to the beach and shopping. Their shuttle service is a joke too. It's not available thru out the day w a time window to go to the airport or downtown. Overall we will never return to this so call Motel hotel. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
