Some of the exhibits are amazing, especially the 'interactive exhibits". It explained the 'science of the DNA testing' as well as the archaeology part. Attended Welford Road Leicester Tigers v Sale Sharks,English Premiership Semi-Final. Ground is a straightforward 10 minute walk South of Leicester Railway Station & City Centre. Arrived at the ground well over an hour before kick off and since the club sets up bars & live music in front of the New Main Stand (Tradeview Markets Stand) the entrance was heaving with fans of both clubs. Club Shop was doing some brisk business but was a little too crowded for my liking! Ticket was for the Old Stand (Breddon Stand) Had problem scanning my mobile phone ticket at Turnstile 25 but was advised to goto nearby gate where a steward with a hand scanner sorted it out straight away. Would recommend people goto the toilet before walking to the ground since the narrow concourse that divides the Breddon Stand lower open terrace and upper seating deck was restricted in part with a queue for the mens toilet. Lovely welcome from the stewards at the top of the steps when walking up into the Breedon Stand's seating deck. This stand is very much a throwback to pre-Taylor Report days,having a wooden deck and a series of long benches with the seat space painted on them. The stand has a row of columns along its lowest row of seating however they are marked as such when you purchase tickets online. My seat in Row A Block R was £35 for this game. One drawback to the columns and fans standing on the open terrace below is that it was not posable from my position to see the far right corner of the pitch in front of the Mattilo Woods Stand.However,a large video screen at the rear of the Europacar Stand offers fans the tv angle of the game and a few fans were looking at this during play that enters this blindspot. Stewarding was excellent throughout the game and their was a brillant atmosphere with Tigers & Sharks fans mixing together in all parts of the ground. Will go again next season though i think i will give the Breddon Stand a miss next time!

I was worried about having enough time. The staff are very friendly & welcoming. It starts with an immersive film on 3 walls in a hall. The film is about a young Roman child & people in the public bathhouse. After 10 minutes of scene setting, you move through the museum. It is very much a sensory overload. There are videos just playing all around you. Maybe too many. It is modern & fun, but the videos are always on & you get a bit confused as to what to focus your hearing on. It is super modern, a world away from the old dusty exhibits that the museum used to be. Loved the first mosaic floor display with the amusing video of the floor maker explaining the tesserae quality. There are lots of glass see through displays which my 57 year old eyes found a bit hard to examine without a backdrop. Would be nice to have a display board with blown up pictures with larger print descriptions to make it easier to see. I have been to quite a few Roman museums including in Rome itself. There ought to be more stuff for kids to twiddle with. My kids loved Cirencester Roman museum which was really engaging for them. They had tiles with Latin lettering to sort. I think it needs to be a lot bigger. I hope it develops & changes displays to keep fresh. We were there for just under 1 hour. The cafe stops doing hot drinks 30 minutes before closing, but they did say that cold drinks. & cakes were still available.

Theres a lovely trail of decorated stones that is so long, loads of BlackBerry bushes, many fields of wheat (or is it barley?) Great for long walks, or trail running and I noticed a sign board mentioning orienteering which would be fun to do. Theres a bridge that goes over the dual carriageway which my 4 year old absolutely loved to stand on and watch all the cars zoom by beneath him. We wernt really sure where to park as there was a red barrier down blocking access to what we assumed was the car park for castle hill country park but we could be wrong. There were about 3 spaces before the barrier which we were lucky enough to have got 1 of them when we arrived. So thats where we parked. Would definatly go there again. Only down side is the paths weren't suitable for the pushchair. So probably not the best place to go if ur travelling with a little one. Maybe take a sling instead.

It’s a beautiful and peaceful place to walk around, though being Bank Holiday Monday the greenhouses were closed, which was a shame. It was a lovely, calm, serene place. There are many beautiful species of flora here. It was wonderful to see the southern magnolia in full bloom, with flowers as big as my hand and face. The acers here are beautiful, some in need of a prune but overall it's a lovely place for a picnic and relax. The car park holds about 6 cars and so far there have only been 2-3 cars there when I have visited so always plenty of room but I have not been at busier times and nice weather days. There is a stream at the bottom of the park butbit is quite muddy in places. Be aware that there is a horrible boggy area (even in the middle of the summer) with a little bridge over. My dog found it before me on the first visit I made and was covered in sludgy mud yuk!! I now put him on a lead as we approach the bridge until we are well past it.
