We were greeted by Stan, who was brilliant — friendly, welcoming, and gave us a quick rundown of what to see and where to start. Nice large car park as well as street parking, unfortunately you have to pay for both, unless your on a motorbike then park infront of the old clock tower for free. A nice walkway with gardens, childrens play area, grand/bandstand with public toilets, sandy beach as well as a pebbly beach, pier, amusements and restaurants/ ice cream places, cafes etc all stretched along the front. The Reculver Towers were as fabulous as ever up there on the hill but Reculver itself has turned into a deserted dive which has been completely ignored over time and has now become an untidy dilapidated unloved part of Kent which used to be a lovely place to walk and spend time there. Firstly no free parking whatsoever £1.50 for an hour broken electric charging points all the old shops ice cream parlour amusement arcade all boarded up and looking dreadful there are some toilets but you’d be expected to buy an hours parking even if you only stopped for a pee and a leg stretch. The walk itself is still as good as it always was which is important to note but there are building sites and more new houses now being built nearby the roads are filthy and flooded and I just found the whole area had lost all personality and appeal. I can only hope they’ll spend some money on it for the summer but I think once all the new houses are built the area will be teaming with cars and it’ll be a difficult place to get to and parking will be almost impossible.. Please note my photos only show the good parts as I get no pleasure in taken photos of all the bad bits you’ll see them for yourself if you visit.

It's no micropub but the bar area is a bit of a squeeze they serve local ales, larger and stouts as you would hope and a large selection of spirits, prices for a drink are as reasonable as any other good pub. I went as part of a party of 6. We were shown through to a restaurant area at the rear that was warm and as welcoming as the main bar area. My 1st and only grumble is that they have bench seats which are far too low for table. The menu & food. The menu is select it had a couple of options per dietary style (vegetarian, fish and meat) I sampled the delights of the confit of duck spring rolls which were packed full of meat and flavour and presented in an appealing way. For mains I had tried jack fruit, not because I was trying to be a trendy vegan but as it sounded amazing, (which it was)a large portion was presented that again was packed full of flavour and something of a rarity extremely filling. Desert selection is again refined to about 8 dishes catering for most tastes, I had some sorbets which were very nice and refreshing. We were lucky as there was entertainment provided by means of a band called 6 shades of grey, very good band which we could hear on the restaurant area without it being intrusive to the conversation. Overall amazing food, friendly staff and atmosphere, limited menu that's worth reading before you go to check you would eat some thing.

I had a very special moment with the Eurasian elk that I’ll never forget. There’s also enough space that you can often find yourself alone away from the loud children and crowds which is great. The day we visited, however, we noticed that the area was not as clean as we had hoped, and some of the equipment seemed a bit neglected in terms of maintenance. On a positive note, the size of the playground is impressive, with a wide range of attractions available for children of various age groups. There’s plenty of space for kids to run around and explore, which is always a plus. With a little more attention to cleanliness and upkeep, this could easily be one of the best playgrounds around.
