I visited with my child and we had a really wonderful time. The seals are absolutely adorable, and the sanctuary plays such an important role — rescuing, caring for, and rehabilitating these beautiful, intelligent animals. We’re big fans of zoos and aquariums, and we thought this would be a great sensory experience for our newborn, which it was. In addition to this, someone decided that storing a used dustpan in with kitchen utensils is hygienic. On the last day, as we were packing up to leave, we also spotted a rat darting out from underneath the caravan. We went to reception and we arrived abit earlier than expected and asked if we could change the time of our golf to be told by a very rude member of staff you have to go to the swimming pool like we knew that. We went to pool which was closed but the guy came out and helped us there was 9 of us playing but they only had 7 clubs and 6 balls so we had to share he also told us that there was issues on number 4 so not to go through as balls would get lost but actually it was also number 2 so then we where down to 5 balls and by the time we got to 9 only 5 people could play as all balls where lost ( should be shut until all rocks are cleared from tubes) and not charging for it. We got our keys to the caravan and my one was nice apart from a few issues like tv off wall so cable was hanging out and holes in door but we thought we can handle that, but my sister caravan wasnt what she was expecting and it was very dirty apart from the toaster. They couldnt find the control for tv then found it down couch covered in crumbs and was very sticky. There was a stain on one of the beds which you can understand that could happen but after a few days the yellow stain started seeping through the bed sheets and onto the pillows and it smelt disgusting and wet. We did go to the reception and spoke to Nathan who was helpful and said he would get someone to sort bed and contact my sister and that was at 10am by 3 no one had been in contact so my sister had to contact them again to be told that it hadn't even been dealt with which is terrible. Whilst we where talking to Nathan the colleague beside him rolled there eyes at us and that was the same person we had a issue with at the beginning We found alot of staff unhelpful and rude even getting drinks they didn't give us glasses so when we asked we got huffs and it was like they couldnt be bothered. Alot of things shut early or didn't even open (like scoops even though we asked and where told it would open at 5 but never did) we where just told its cause it quiet but that's not our fault we paid good money to come and stay at the park and to be honest the same amount as peak . We have been coming to parkdean for over 20 years and never had any issues until now. On a good point the food was lovely and the lady that served us was always lovely and very helpful and the young lad that did the high ropes on Thursdays at 2 with us was very kind and funny too as there was 5 of us doing it. My nephew posted and just got a bog standard reply and also my sister did aswell.so not even taking there reviews seriously. We will not be back to this park for all the above reason the place was stuck in a time warp and needs alot of work to get it up to the standard of all the other parkdean parks we have been too. Very disappointing

I understand that this is a pet friendly caravan but that doesn’t leave any exceptions for leaving it disgusting. As well as this we have recently just uncovered another issue, we like to bring our own bedsheets to put on the bed just due to some previous negative experiences, there was a stain on the bed which we are aware can happen and thought nothing of it, however after one night of sleeping on it we noticed an unusual cheesy smell, once again we didn’t think too much of it at first until a couple days went past and we realised it wasn’t going away and the stain a seeped through the sheets to what we can on explain must be mouldy milk or something, we are having to sleep on the couch which we are too afraid to pull out due to the already dirty nature of the caravan. We would’ve loved to have mentioned this to reception earlier in the day but the reoccurring theme of because it’s not busy we have closed early keeps coming up, whether it’s the arcades closing before 9:30 or being told that some of the food vans like scoops will be open after 5 only to go all the way to the other side of the park and it be closed, in addition to this most (not all) of the staff seem like they don’t want to be here and are quite arrogant, like asking for help because a machine had swallowed money and they shake their heads and tut or when we ordered drinks and they came over and told us that one of the drinks couldn’t be made as they didn’t have the stuff for it, I asked if I could just swap my order for another one instead, I got a funny look and told I would be refunded which is still yet to happen after 2 days. There’s probably numerous other things to mention that I haven’t and we will be going to reception tomorrow (if it’s not closed early), we are here until Friday and have paid good money to stay here from Monday to Friday and yet I’d happily leave early at this point even though it’s still a six hour journey back home, anything is better than the experience I’ve had here so far

The shows you can go watch throughout the day/night are brilliant along with the pool arcades and fairground rides. Only ever eaten at the Ranch family of 5 with 2 kids eating for £1 still cost in excess of £90 but the food was excellent and service was perfect. Overall the location was great, service was ok but rooms were battered worn and dirty looking probably all down the the adult weekenders. Tv reception was ok whereas the wifi was horrendously slow but an option to pay extra for a faster download speed.

Lots of other guests are generally inconsiderate people, by that I mean there was an awful lot of loud swearing and inappropriate language everywhere in front of small kids. There were also so many smokers smoking everywhere, a complete disregard (and non enforcement) for use of smoking areas. Someone was even smoking at 4am right outside my room so inside our apartment was filled with the smell of smoke. Food outlet choice isn't the best unless you enjoy chips with almost everything. Apartments are small, dirty, old, tired & broken, and the hot water tap is dangerously hot, especially for kids. On several occasions I noticed small groups of teenagers smoking weed (you can smell it) around the apartments, not that I care about drug taking but we were there on a family week, not an adults only weekender. Good points, lots of entertainment included, and great if you like loud, brash, in your face, get involved, Saturday night family TV show type entertainment. The shows are well put together... The singing and dancing crew are pretty good and clearly spend a lot of time putting together an entertaining show. The pool is great, lots of waterslides, a good small kiddies area, a well sized deep pool, a wave pool and a lazy river; what more could you ask for... Plus the lifeguards are on the ball. The free fairground is a nice touch too, although a lot of rides were broken down or simply not operating when we were there. Between eating, going to the pool, and watching shows there's paid activities or several huge arcade areas, obviously all the kids love the arcades and sink an endless stream of 2p's and pound coins in return for some tickets that can be traded for a handful of tat from the likes of Poundland. It's quitessentially British, it's low cost (till you get near the arcades, bars, or food outlets), it's in your face, and the kids seem to love it. Personally it's not my scene but my kids love going, so I go for them!

As for the rest of it, shocking! Splashworld, changing rooms disgusting with blobs of chewing gum everywhere and a cigarette butt in the pool, however this is down to disgusting people with disgusting habits! Indoor soft play poor and in spite of a member of staff being in the area, one of our girls came back with red marks all over arms from a few badly behaved boys! . Tried to upgrade but nothing available. Ate out a few times and the food was OK. Entertainment was pretty good and lots for the grand kids to do so worth the journey down from Scotland for that alone. The bars are very busy at night and understaffed so long queues for over priced drinks. I used to go regularly with my own kids and I do think it has got a bit run down. Some investment needed to upgrade it all We have booked again for next year but have chosen better accommodation. The kids loved it so that's the reason for going back.

Some of the Reception staffs attitude was extremely poor and weren't very helpful didn't really care waited ages to get on pitch after a 5 hr drive even though we were late on the day. I am literally sat in the car whilst still eating the food and writing this review. After a weekend at Butlins I promised my little boy some donuts from the seaside. On the way to get these I decided actually we needed some proper food first so would find a chip shop. The route from Butlins took us down some residential streets and I saw Seaview fisheries so decided to stop. On walking in we were asked if there was anything that needed ordering like fish or chicken nuggets, super fast in acknowledging that we were there unlike some places where you have to catch the eye of staff. The shop, behind the counter and the cafe/seating area all looked immaculate. I witnessed all staff cleaning their hands after each order and after handling the money, card machine and using the till. Food is incredible. Chips looked a little anemic so I was worried as I like a dark fluffy chip but these are beautiful (they must be frying new potatoes). Chicken nuggets are to die for, the absolute best nuggets my son (8yrs old) has ever had. Food super hot and fresh. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Skegness. I've also sent the address to a friend who owns a caravan so she can add it to her list of recommendations for guests that stay xx

We found it pretty good value, with a wristband only costing £25 per person which allows unlimited rides all day. There is a good selection of rides to keep most people happy. There are a few rides on the side which aren't part of the pleasure beach/ wristband scheme, and you could get caught out with having to pay for the go-karts or the "big Ben swing" ride if you are not careful. From the moment we arrived every single member of staff (reception, shop, security, bar staff, restaurant staff, entertainment team and the maintenance staff) were smiley, helpful and approachable. The site is small and has the amenities that you expect, yes it could do with a few more things but for couples and families with small kids it was perfect. First visit to this site staff very polite and helpful they looked professional. Grass only pitches but spacious and tidy nice amount not too busy. Toilets etc end of season so ready for a deep clean but we’re clean plenty of them and hairdryers too. Plus situated close to pitches. Meal at papa johns bought one of deals which was huge, good pizzas. Popped to the pub/restaurant with the dogs great they have a dog area. It’s a 15 min walk to town lots there. Got the weekend in one of the deals was so cheap. Def come back again thanks for a lovely weekend (except storm Ann)

The van was great, new model, one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in at any caravan site, very well equipped, absolutely nothing that I could say let it down. Location was fine, chippy and a couple of take aways and shops along the road, 20-30 min walk to the front. The site was clean and tidy, map and instructions given on arrival, barriers to drive in and out. Kids play areas where a little run down, maybe because it's start of the season, I don't know. On site pub was ok, went in once, food was nice pub grub, reasonably priced, drinks were steep though, £6 a pint! And it's not a huge place for the amount of vans. We managed to get a seat but I can imagine lots of people will struggle when it's busier in summer. As a base it was fine, I'd recommend it and would return.

Nice quite site pub drinks too expensive. Problem with some dog owners not picking up dog fowl would be nice if they had consideration for other people they have to stay on the site it's not the sites fault but perhaps some cameras on site may help catch the dog owners. This is our second visit in 2 years we will return again next year due to the location as it suits us.I do hope they improve the disabled toilets would not cost a lot to scrub up and re grout them.

Location is also great. The toilet and shower block is dark, smelly, wet. Theres no implements to take excess water from shower cubicles, so your literally standing in the last persons dirty water. There is a really strong smell of drains throughout the building. Ate in the onsite pub - bangers and mash, featuring a microwave. You could tell it wasnt freshly cooked food. Finally, dont expect a lie in, as the groundkeepers are handy with their chainsaws.

My was very cramped but reasonably clean bathroom was of a good size . Toiletries were not as advertised.The balcony/veranda was in a very poor condition. We booked a twin room but were allocated a double...someone will come straight up & split the beds for you...NEVER did. Room wasnt anything special but was warm, nets at the window had a rip in them. Bulb missing from ceiling light, bathroom was mega small & quite a lot of black mould around shower tray, tray was small & not much room to move. Glass shelf immediately above sink so extremely difficult to use sink otherwise we banged our heads. LOTS of refurbishment needed. We were told the hotel is closing for 3 weeks in january for total refurbishment of rooms & new carpets throughout, hope they have a mega team of workers as it will be a mammoth task. Ceilings in dining & entertainment rooms were leaking because they had a flat roof. . First nights entertainment was good, second night was Abba but only the two females turned up. Lets hope this refurbishment brings the royal back up to standard.

You can leave the hotel at the side with the fountain and turn right and a 10 minute walk your on the main shopping street. Everything you need is is based off of the clock tower roundabout. There is a couple of staff that are not very friendly but the rest are lovely, except the cleaners are not good at all. The hotel needs a good bottoming out in all areas, vac bag needs changing more often. Also the rooms weren't cleaned at all 1 day and no clean towels were left. They made the beds to make it look good. The best thing of all in this hotel is the quality of food. I would of loved to have met the chef because the meals where beond expectations 10 out of 10 for all meals.

This sleeps 6. The beds were so uncomfortable, painful in fact. Only 1 pillow each was provided so we took a couple of spares just in case. The whole lodge could have done with a proper clean. Crockery was left in the dishwasher rather than put away. The lodge was a good size in a quiet spot, which was great for using the hot tub. Disappointed that the shower cold tap wasnt working it was either a piping hot shower or nothing - The cold tap was stiff. Had reported this to management on day 2 of my stay early morning who advised to expect plumber at some point that day but nobody turned up, i dropped another message later that evening but had no response. I left the next morning as i was booked in for 2nights. I would recommend before the carvan is checked into management check to ensure the shower taps cooker switchs lighters essentials are working and available or mention this earlier upon booking. Because i paid £128 to include the shower - you can all imagine family of 4 crisis on not being able to shower after coming back from the beach. We not not updated on the shower no given any other options. Also i'd like to mention - The door steps outside the living room door is a Hazard its not stable and has hand rail on 1 side behind the door not a safe option for kids or anyone to use as its quiet a step far down from the van and once you step on it you could have an accident falling to one side. Overall, i would give this place a 7/10 purely because of my shower issue. Otherwise all good clean set up and has all necessities and essentials for staying - hope to book again but this time confirming the shower facilities in working condition.

When we visited the park, we first considered taking the cable car, but after waiting about an hour to buy tickets, we decided to hike up instead. The Mediterranean Steps trail is not for amateurs – it took us almost 2 hours to reach the top. The path is steep and challenging, but the effort is rewarded with spectacular views. It’s ideal for adventure seekers, but it does require good physical preparation. At the entrance, we were given a map showing the locations and trails to the attractions. So we started the Wednesday morning and arrived looked around the wildlife farm. Went into the the arctic foxes around 1pm, after creating there scatter feed bags, we then got into the enclosure and scattered the food we had prepared as requested. I was then stood there videoing the experience and the mother of the foxes snuck around and BIT the back of my leg, then told to remain calm, understandable as there was around another 5/6 foxes, but then the mother of the foxes came for me again luckily i had avoided this time as i pulled my leg away causing it just to nip me. During the experience I was asked of i was okay, and if I would like to emd the experience sooner, which i stated No as I had paid £90 and other then it biting me I was enjoying the experience. (This was during my holiday). On then the Thursday morning i ended up at the hospital on holiday for a tetanus Jab and a cause of antibiotics, the hospital were surprised I hadn't come sooner but it hadn't crossed my mind if im completely honest. After myself emailing them and having a conversation they did issue a FULL refund, which I said thank you and that was the end of it. But this isnt a DIG at the place. It was just a warning not to take small children in there as the experience is for 12 year old and over. Me personally I wouldnt take an under 18 in there. Just for there own safety. YES - A waver was signed and dated before I entered but I wasn't quite expecting it to bit me twice. I understand that grass is over grown and things look "a mess" but what people dont think is these animals are wild, they are not used to tidy grass and clean place to live, they are wild animals so they live in bushes, holes in the ground, brambles and a natural habitat, and are used to hunting for there food.

We picked the Arctic fox, Red fox and Meerkat encounters and they were all brilliant. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly and you can tell they care deeply about the animals at the park. Jack the arctic fox has just about the cutest face you will ever see! I feel so lucky to have been able to feed him a treat. We made up food boxes for them and picked a toy each to spray with a scent of our choice as a form of enrichment. We then went in to see Dexter (silver) and Lana (leucistic) the foxes who are absolutely beautiful. We did the same for these (hiding food in a tray of balls) and spraying a toy as well as hand feeding them treats. Dexter wasn’t up for a fuss when we went in, but just being up close to him was amazing. Lastly, we went in with three of the meerkats (and a yellow mongoose). All we had to do was sit down and let them climb over us! They loved to try and get inside our coats and dig at our T-shirts. They were so cuddly and fun to watch! All the other animals and reptiles were beautiful as well! (I especially loved all the cats). They have sad backgrounds behind them, but the people there are now providing them with much better and safer lives. It’s a small place, but so worth visiting and supporting. It’s quite far away for me, but I definitely plan on visiting again!

Didn't get a chance to walk around but if you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Only 1 tiny point, if you light sleeper tent pitch 1 may be a little noisy woth rd right behind.
