It's been called a hidden gem, and I personally 100% agree! Easy nature walking trail that's not too long. It's perfect for children to handle. It has two sandy beaches and a roped off swimming area. Fishing is okay along the Pigeon River. There are kayak and canoe rentals. Local attractions: There is a local dairy nearby along with another day use provincial park for more trail walks. Peterborough is only 20 minutes drive, where you can see and watch the life locks move boats through the Trent-Severn waterway. Great picnic area too!

A lot of them are closed due to damage from the spring ice storm but there were enough to keep me occupied for 2 days. Greatly enjoyed all the beautiful wildlife, such as a great blue heron, a few snapping turtles, lots of wonderful birds and plants. I recommend bringing binoculars for the lookout! The point trail and the boardwalk. I also was a little confused as I was never 100% sure where I was on the maps around...would be nice if they had a "you are here" star or sticker. I kind of ended up aimlessly walking around as the directions weren't clear and realized I was walking in the opposite direction than I had hoped for a couple times. I would like to go again and do the whole woodlands trail if I can. My dog and I went to a bridge and then went to the accessible look out point which were gorgeous. Note: my photo of the boardwalk is just at the entrance where the barricade is. Hopefully it opens soon so I can explore that area!

There are no mosquitoes that's really great. There are so many path, however maps are outdated, and color coding is wrong. We encountered people asking us about directions and says the trail is confusing. The one in the map color was blue, but the sign says orange. There's a sign to use the trail at own risk and be alert with Bears being active from April to November. I didn't see Bears but saw claws on the blue trail (orange sign) and smelled like there's animal pee on it, so we decided not to continue. But, i saw a couple heading at that path. There's a nice small pond and a nice lookout on the Dragonfly trail. There are so many parking spots in the area as it's a very large place to walk by. Heading left were the Dragonfly trail is if you're looking for bird look-out on the Green trail. Saw two guys Park their car there and brought their canoe. The bridge you can view, which is really nice, although not part of the trail, you can go there and visit. On the right path is the pink trail on the sign (Cedar Forest on the map) where you can see the playground. However, it's not very impressive and the water isn't really a beach that you can go swimming, it's more like a water reservoir that's ok for canoeing or maybe fishing. I certainly don't regret this experience however being disabled with disabled twins it would have been nice to know the above mentioned info lol 😆 It's truly a gorgeous hike through the woods as well as very peaceful as the road into access this trail 👣 I'm sure discourages a lot of visitors. So if you don't mind a bumpy beginning & sweating like crazy by the end then "Fleetwood Creek Natural Area" is definitely worth adding to the weekend adventure checklist. We truly enjoyed ourselves but I would recommend caution for those with limited athletic abilities or any movement disabilities as the trails are very steep & it's a well hike lol 😆 Hope everyone has as much fun as we did!! ✌💕

Greens on back had been punched recently but still rolled decently. All that said, the ranger told us after the 5th hole we were behind pace but the group ahead of us had just hit second shots as we were on the tee and there was no one behind us waiting (at least a full hole behind). We finished the entire round on a Sunday mid-day round of a long weekend in around 3:30 and we were slow? The group we played with (didn’t know them) started to rush as a result of this message causing a little stress on their part. Didn’t appreciate being told to speed up where there was no way other than hitting into the group ahead of us. I also did not think they were playing slow either. Course is nice and all and in good shape after a dry summer but could have done without the ranger putting that out there without any understanding of our actual pace.

Trip from Toronto was actually a little shorter than expected. The golf course is in amazing shape.. fairways are exceptionally green and well maintained. The greens are relatively fast and in good shape for this time of year... #2 was being rebuilt in a new location. The course itself is scenic and extremely fair. It has length for the long hitters (one hole is just over 600 yards off the black tees) and a mix of elevations. Lots of majestic trees makes it a pleasure to play in the fall with the colours changing. I enjoyed the coolers on the golf carts to keep the beer cold. After the round, I enjoyed sitting on the muskoka chairs and grabbing some food.. Food and alcohol was reasonably priced. I would have liked a couple additional selection of coolers like Cutwater, but the Sandbagger went down really well with my burger. This is unacceptable at a site of this scale and spiritual importance. 2.Despite signs clearly prohibiting photos and noise inside the halls, tourists continue to take loud videos and selfies right in front of Buddha statues—and no one stops them. 3.Volunteers and staff seem to focus solely on selling souvenirs and tea, with no attention given to maintaining the sanctity of the temple areas. 4.I personally witnessed someone smoking underneath the Mahavira Hall, and when I tried to stop them, I was shocked to discover the area was officially marked as a smoking zone by the garden itself. This is not mere neglect—it feels like silent permission. A sacred place built through the devotion of so many has become, under poor management and profit-first priorities, a playground for the ignorant, and worse, a site of desecration for those who disrespect the Dharma. Compassion does not mean silence. Buddhism is not entertainment.
