We love history and Wisconsin history in particular. Our docent said that most people spend an hour here. We were more than three hours. There is plenty to see and experience. The food & slow service was SO bad that it was hilarious. The only highlight/saving grace was our server Melanie. It was not her fault & she was profusely apologetic. She comped a few of our drinks, but the entire bill was NOT worth the money we paid. The mansion is gorgeous, the ambiance of the historic building is enchanting, but for the price we paid having made reservations so far in advance to not eat cold/charred food until 2.5 hours into our reservation was maddening. The Baker family is likely rolling in their graves to know what their establishment has been turned into.

The fruit tray was empty and wasn't replenished the entire time of our visit. There was potato salad that was at not iced and at room temperature. Basically the selections were not only not temperature controlled but limited. The hot foods were not at temperature to avoid food borne illness not to mention not much available. To get the sausage gravy you were scraping the bottom to obtain and was cold, the provided biscuits were hard, the egg bake was limited and cold, the sausage and bacon were plentiful in availability but cold, the salmon was readily available but cold. We ordered Eggs benedict directly from the kitchen that was cold, and the egg was hard upon delivery. I hate writing a review like this, but the food experience was absolutely awful! Service experience was outstanding!!!! Food was awful! Our host that invited us for dining paid the bill so I did not know the cost of the visit. I'm certain the cost was in excess of the quality. I wish this location success, however it needs to provide quality food for brunch! Once again the service was excellent, but the food was awful.

It's in the middle of downtown Lake Geneva — a busy street with lots of shops and restaurants. It has a classic-looking front façade, made from crafted wood millwork. Inside, on the lower level, is a bar area and seating for different-sized groups. After our server (Calvin, who did a great job the entire night) explained all of the specials, we decided on the Seba-tons (Lobster Wontons); the Duck; Lamb Chops; Brrr-atta (Pasta); and the Bronze Medal (Filet). All the food was amazingly good. The Lobster Wontons were hot, flavorful, and crisp (not greasy). Each piece was a good size. We didn't wait long for the entrées to come out. Each of them was well presented, hot, seasoned nicely, and generous in portion. My lamb chops were the perfect medium rare (almost as good the next night when I had leftovers). The potatoes with olives, feta, etc. were inventive and delicious. The first meal we ate here was memorable, but I think this meal even topped that one. Absolutely delightful. We would definitely come back for another meal. My only suggestion would be to add a little more décor upstairs (maybe a picture or two :).

This place is a wine bar so it has a large selection of wines, but it also has other drinks & the cocktails were pretty good. As food goes it was good but not great, they serve small plates which i usually like but small plates/tapas are usually priced so you can try multiple, these are higher priced so its a good stop if you want something small & light, be prepared to spend a lot if you want to be filled. We started with the raw oysters on the half shell. They were VERY small but clean & fresh. I then got the salmon burger which must be a seasonal item but it was a disapointment, nothing but a patty made out of canned salmon. My SO got the Ahi steak which was done well and had nice flavors. Before choosing this venue, we toured a few others, but the moment we walked into the Riviera, we just knew it was the one. We were able to set up on Friday since the venue was available, which was a huge help. That said, we did run into a few logistical hiccups that evening because Heather wasn't on-site. Someone else was there who wasn't familiar with our event. It was a bit frustrating, but we managed to work through it and didn’t let it affect our excitement for the weekend. Our wedding day was everything we hoped for. Our guests were blown away by the venue’s beauty. While parking in the area can be tricky, we sent out a parking map in advance, which helped a lot. We could not have asked for a better experience! We booked the venue June of 2023 and consistently worked with the coordinator leading up to our wedding day, when in May we were told she no longer works for the company. This did create some concern as we were a month out from our wedding day. Matt, the general manager, assured us everything would go as planned and to remain calm. He really was wonderful with meeting our needs and expectations for the wedding day. He was extremely responsive and reachable, constantly keeping us updated with anything we needed to know. He made sure that everything we expected was still honored from the previous coordinator. In fact, he even went out of his way to make improvements for us regarding multiple aspects of the wedding. For our actual wedding day, it could not have gone more perfect! There was not a single thing that went wrong that day. Matt, Jack, John and Ashley were all incredible with making sure everything went extremely smooth. They were so kind, personable, and accommodating to us to ensure we had the best day and we really did. Our guests had a great time and so did we, and we had so many compliments about the food. We could not have had a better wedding day!! We are so extremely appreciative of all of the staff members at Hawk’s View that ensured this happened for us in the way that it did. We’re still kind of in shock at how perfectly everything went, but are forever grateful for it. We wish we could do a round two and relive this day. We would recommend this venue to all moving forward! This venue will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we can’t wait to visit! P.S. We left our cake dish at the venue and our baker requested that we bring it back to her. We contacted Matt and asked if he could ship it to us so we could eventually bring it back because we live about an hour and a half away from both the venue and the bakery. We had a range from beginners to avid fisher people on board 4 different boats and everyone was smiling and catching fish! I was lucky enough to be on the boat with Tom. I stopped by with my kids (12,11,10 years old) to check it out and I'd say it's for younger age kids (10 and under) but they still had fun playing and the little kids seemed to enjoy playing with them! As a result, even though we had family members buried at Elm Lawn, we were told by a mosque official that my dad would have to go to a cemetery in Lemont, Ill., to get a reduced-rate plot that is included with membership in the mosque. So I was distraught when I called the Elm Lawn Cemetery office just to see if there was anything they could do for us. THAT'S WHEN KENN K. SAVED THE DAY!!! I spoke with Kenn and to my surprise, he told us that they actually did have some plots available in the Muslim section. I had to pay $4K for the plot but I was relieved that we didn't have to separate my dad from his family members. Dealing with Kenn K. was an absolute pleasure. I am not one who trusts people easily but with Kenn, I immediately felt at ease. Anyone can see that Kenn is honest, respectful, sincere and truly caring. He treated us like family. He's a wonderful person who goes the extra mile. I later ended up ordering a grave marker. He was wonderfully supportive during that whole process as well. In early March of this year, the day the grave marker came in, Kenn had it placed in the ground and sent me a picture of it by email with a lovely encouraging note that made me smile. From start to finish, Kenn made the process as pleasant as it could possibly be. Others at the office were very nice as well.
