The Bernhard Museum is an absolute must-visit for anyone interested in history! I had an amazing experience thanks to two wonderful docents who went above and beyond, even giving my friend and me a tour of the upstairs, which isn’t always open to visitors. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made the visit even more special. The museum itself is packed with well-preserved artifacts, some dating back as far as 1805! Walking through the house and seeing how people lived in the past was like stepping back in time. It’s incredible how much history is packed into this place. The setting is beautiful, the staff is incredibly welcoming, and the attention to detail in preserving the past is remarkable. I would absolutely visit again in the future. They learned what life was like for children back in the 1800's. The whole experience was completely immersive and the kids had so much fun doing "chores"! They did laundry on washboards, ground wheat into flour, churned butter, baked biscuits in an outdoor oven, made toys like button spinners, a leavings doll and sewed a pouch for marbles. They also learned how to condition a saddle and they even made wooden crates. It was a marvelous experience made even better by the wonderful staff and volunteers. When we came it was so busy! It definitely seems like a go to place for a lot of peeps. Parking was a little tricky because it was busy. The cafe is so pretty inside and the staff are friendly. We sat inside on the lower level but from what it looked like there was seating somewhere outside and upstairs. It was busy all throughout the space! They have decent/standard pricing for food and drinks I would say, not sure if things have changed since I was last here. The food is good and I would definitely come back to try more times! I had gotten an iced chai and a sandwich and both were nice. They were a great brunch/lunch combo before we went around the nearby shops. Definitely check it out!

I honestly am having a hard time thinking of any place where I've had a pancake with so much flavor and fluffiness. I didn't even need syrup! Perfectly moist. Kudos the chefs because WOW! My husband had the turkey pesto omelet and I only was allowed one bite to try it 😆 but from that 1 bite I definitely knew what I was getting the next time I came in here! The staff were very friendly but definitely busy as they didn't quite make the rounds as often as we needed for fillups but were quickly accommodating when we asked for anything. As far as the seating goes, there is an outdoor option which is nice because the inside was a little cramped with how busy it got. If your needing a little extra elbow room I recommend sitting outside for sure. All in all, a wonderful establishment and will Definitely be returning for the high quality breakfast!

Someone told me they have the best biscuits and gravy in the foothills so I had to investigate. I'm not a huge biscuit fan, that's my wife's thing, but I am in to gravy. We were greeted and seated very quickly. The server was friendly and she got even more friendly once she found out we were newbs. The server gave us several suggestions and my wife ordered the Lemon Yogurt Pancakes. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. She loved her pancakes and even offered me a bite, they tasted great. The CFS tasted great even without the gravy, which it not usually the case. Starting with a 9/10 steak and then putting 9/10 gravy on it #chefskiss. The chicken fried steak was excellent. Unfortunately the potatoes were dry and unflavorful except for salt. Even the gravy couldn't help the potatoes. The toast was dry and room temp like it sat out too long. They were slammed so I'm not going to dock the service for having empty coffee cups for over 15 minutes. I didn't see much coordination between the servers, it didn't seem like they weren't helping each other but again it could have just been a busy day. I'll update the review after the next visit.

For those who don't realize or know, untold generations of California Native Americans harvested acorns from the many variety of Oak trees as a main food source. Tri Tip Sandwiches which the meat needed work and rest of the sandwich was good (6.5/10). The Side Salad was excellent with crispy cold bowl and Italian Vinaigrette dressing (10/10). Overall drinks yes, food hit and miss. Probably won’t be back to this one unless for a drink. Cheers!!

We parked in the paid lot about a quarter mile from the starting point of the hike. I have the Vet State Park pass so It was free for us to park. There are tons of little paths along the way that take you to various points on the river. It was running high and fast so we did not go down there because we have a dog obsessed with water who is to dumb to not try to swim. The falls were at peak flow and looked spectacular. There are lots of little places to sit and enjoy a snack or lunch while checking out the views.

I used to love this course but it's in terrible shape! Go check out the recent Yelp reviews. The tee boxes are lumpy and the fairways are mostly burned up. The greens look great from far but are covered with ball marks that look like they're weeks old. The bunker sand is nice but half of them are muddy from too much water. They've gotten rid of the trailer clubhouse and have built a putt putt style check in booth. I paid $80 to play on Sunday morning and felt completely ripped off. Front desk guy was annoyed that we were smart enough to book a twilight rate, they sold us a bucket of balls for the range but there were no balls available, we had to wait until 5 minutes before our tee time to get our carts, and then by the turn they ran out of propane so they had no food available. When we finished the round the pro shop was closed no one in sight so we couldn’t even get a refund for the bogey on their range balls. I will say their bartender was very friendly as was their cart lady. But considering it was Father’s day weekend it was really poorly managed for a higher end course. Hopefully they get their act together we will not be back soon.

Their hospitality is outstanding we ended up staying at their vine tasting house a few days. My daughters were excited about the frogs in their pound and the irrigation system on the property.
