We really enjoyed the pretzel, chicken, potatoes, carrot salad, and cranberry salad. The cost seemed to be more about the experience than the food. Know that if you are there at lunch but you are only given the dinner menu, you can still order the lunch portion and get the price...which we didn't know! Service was fantastic, from the hostess to the accordion player to our waitress. The waitress was very helpful, explained everything, and answered our questions. When I say there was a lot of food I mean it. Photos are just for 2 people. Plus, the family style is technically all-you-can-eat. Decor was cute with storybook fairytale murals from the Brothers Grimm. Only downfall is where the bathrooms are compared to the dining area. I have been spoiled by the enormous amount of inventory in this place, no other Christmas store has ever compared. I think that I could honestly spend an entire day here if I was allowed. I ended up at the café when I needed a little break and decided to try the frosted sugar cookie and a soft pretzel with cheese. It was a little underwhelming , but I’m glad I finally tried the cookie after all these years. An ornament that I had picked ended up being chipped and the register helper went running with a mighty fury to get me a replacement from the sales floor. I had to travel back to California with my loot, so they people at the register made sure to wrap everything accordingly and I didn’t have anything break! I really enjoyed seeing the Hummel and Precious Moments collections, I think a lot of people forget about that back room where they play the video. 10/10 to the purchasing team- you guys always keep it interesting! I highly recommend visiting the silent night chapel at the corner of the property for a moment of peace.

She had tons of information about the church's history as well as the local landmarks. We stopped in right after the Sunday service because I love stained glass and historic places of worship. Fairways were pure, the rough was a consistent length and lush, the greens were rolling well but they had an outing that day so there were a lot of spike marks (not their fault), heather and long grass was manageable to get out of and find your ball (most of the time, RIP ProV1x). The pace was a bit slow but to be expected at times when playing solo. The layout is a great mix of both challenging and straightforward holes. This course, you can definitely score well or have a tough day, bring your A game! I highly recommend visiting the Fortress next time you’re in the area!

The carts are clean, have gps, and run great. The pro shop and food staff were extremely helpful and polite. The course conditions were superb. The reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was solely because of an interaction I had with an employee on the course. While my group was teeing off on hole 8, an older gentleman came up to our group and accosted us for not fixing our ball marks on the greens, saying how he fixed four of them on hole 7 (no one in our group even hit the green on the last hole). We assumed that this was just another golfer, but he then told us his name was Joe and we had to listen to him because “he’s worked as a ranger here for years.” After this, he told us that he was playing through and didn’t give us a choice. This was midway through our tee shots, as two of us had already hit our drives, and the other two had to wait until Joe played through, which was much longer than expected . The worst part about this was that it was a slower day on the course, and we had been waiting too. It didn’t help that he was playing as a single as well. The staff member was friendly and gave us some quick instructions. You have to wear plastic gloves to avoid fingerprinting the mirrors. It is a fairly short 10-15 minute walk from entrance to exit. A toolbox actually flew down from the top shelve and hit one of my friends. We all woke up the next morning very sore. The environment where the pedal trolley was used didn’t help either, every bar we stopped at we were treated very poorly, and unwanted. Even though all of those bars were sponsors of the trolly, it was very confusing. Overall, the pedal trolley experience was not worth the time, effort, or money. It’s a shame because I had high hopes for a fun and unique outing, but it ended up being more of a chore.
