What a unique, picturesque, magical venue this was. The views from upstairs in the towers are outstanding. Cocktail hour in the courtyard was also great - we were worried about being close to the road with cars and people going by but to be honest we were so involved with our food, music, and guests that we didn't even notice it! There was also a summer concert going on in the green across the road but it didn't interfere at all, besides making parking for our valet a bit trickier. A couple things to note about the Towers - 1. It is kind of a DIY venue - you rent the venue itself for the night along with tables and chairs, and that's about it. Everything else you must outsource - catering, decor, coordinator, etc. The Towers does have some staff helping out with clean up at night. Donna was very helpful and organized in planning and knows every vendor in the area. All of our local vendors were familiar with the Towers too so planning and coordinating really wasn't bad. 2. There is no AC. We lucked out with a cool, not too humid summer night, so with the windows open and ceiling fans going we were just fine. 3. There is no private parking. We hired a valet service (highly recommend), told guests staying at Aqua Blue hotel to park there and walk over, otherwise guests have to try to find street parking which can be difficult on a summer evening. 4. The space may look tight, but it fit our 100 person wedding with bar, DJ, photo booth, champagne wall, and coffee/dessert vendors just fine! The dance floor is a great size, and the outside deck really extends the venue as well. If you really want to WOW your guests - book the Towers for your wedding, there really is no place like it!!! Thank you to Donna & everyone at the Towers for a perfect wedding reception!

This place is very proud of their Rhode Island Red heritage breed chickens; they have won numerous awards, and their ribbons are hanging in the museum's main building. I felt horrible for the one hen nesting in the filthier of the 2 coops. The rest of the birds were outside. There were 2 small yards, completely barren, not a blade of grass. Yes, I know chickens peck at greenery and defoliate. Where I work, we plant more plants for them, put down pine needles, and turn the soil, not leave a hard packed yard of dirt. There was limited shade, and the birds were mostly huddled in it, although a few were walking around in the sunny areas. I did see water available, but not food, although it could have been out of my sight line in the coops. The chickens all looked healthy, with good feather condition. But they should absolutely not have to live in their own waste. What started off as a very pleasant day ended up being awful. I understand that the South County Museum is not rolling in cash, as most cultural and education facilities are not. Funding for workers is surely limited. We absolutely loved the food- our calamari and seared scallops tasted "clean" which for us means "free of excess seasoning and spices" which is how we enjoy our sesfood. If you are near the road you will hear the traffic and drag racing. We were in the area of water and electricity only but dumping is located in the park. We have a low motorhome which we found it frustrating as the dump is up high. The bathrooms are clean but you have to pay to use the showers. They do have a change machine to do so. If you have kids they have a playground and basketball court. We noticed tennis and volleyball net too. There is no real beach access and a lot of beach’s you have to pay and don’t allow dogs. Fisherman’s park over near the lighthouse you can fish from but we also took our dogs there with no issues. And you don’t have to pay for parking. If you want icecream Aunt Carries has a big selection. There is a surf, coffee and breakfast place across the road and up a bit that my husband recommends. Coffee is strong thou. They will make you show your pass every time you come in the park not just look at it from your windscreen. You have to have your Registration or take a photo of your plates to show the front desk which can lead to multiple rigs waiting. Also if you are in a motorhome and tow a car you are not allowed anymore cars at your site. The sites themselves had some privacy but people will cut through if you are located near a trash bin.

The only other gripe I have is the massive windmill that is low on oil, yes I've worked on heavy machinery and can tell you this thing needs an oil change badly! It sounds terrible at night and it's only sometimes - why I know it's an oil issue. Please change this before the winter or you're going to have a seized motor on your hands. It's very very loud if your site is right there it sounds like a small airplane overhead all night. Still... Love this place too much to knock a star off. Love this special state park, with the trails and coast line. Lighthouse,museum, and aquarium, along with great fishing from the rocks. Careful not to slip and be sure to keep an eye on the tides if you are fishing close to the water. The waves here are so nice to watch and hear, especially during storms. Fun to go to the sailboat race around the island and to see all the people and boats. Plenty of parking here. Great stop on the bike tour. Love exploring all the pools and lagoons within the rocks. Got home empty handed. I am sure you will do better. I got there at 4 a.m. on the 16th. of July. Fishing locations are pretty much all around the peninsula so pick your poison. I was on the west side pretty much under the lighthouse. Seems to me like a perfect location and a perfect morning but no bit. There are four free parking lots, each with a trailhead. Two on the western side as you enter the park. Traffic is one way, as you looped around there are two more free parking lots before you exit the park. Dogs are allow but do pick up after them. There still some dog that do not pick after themselves, surprisingly. I see people bicycling but if you have kids there is no way to keep an eye on them as the road is a loop and they will disappear on you once they begin their ride. They will be sharing their ride with car traffic. People are jogging, tanning and obviously fishing. The are numerous signs to stay off the rocks but I doubt it’s doing any good. How can you fish if you can’t go on the rocks. This is a popular fishing spot so fishing is allowed as far as I know. Plenty of restroom so no need to worry. A few don’t that was posted are swimming, grilling and overnight camping. From the signs there are aquarium and museum but it was closed when I was there. I enjoy taking the ferry here because you can hang out at Point Judith or ferry over to the island. or, hang out at the local bars/restaurants after going to Block Island. There’s parking close by, within a 2-minute walk to the ferry. Parking was no more than $15 for the day. The high speed ferry takes 30 minutes. On the day I went, the water was calm but still felt the motion of the ocean. So for those with a sensitive stomach, you might consider the slower ferry. If you’re visiting Newport, RI, it’s about a 40 minute drive to Point Judith . Ballards had cabanas and chairs for rent. I believe if you want a cabana, it’s best to reserve in advance.

Mistakes happen but this woman was very rude and arrogant. So the loading staff in Point Judith were unfriendly and irritable, the loading staff in Block island were rude and arrogant and the ride itself was pretty bad. Used to be a much nicer experience.
