The drive to Woodford Reserve is a beautiful journey that showcases the charm of the countryside. Upon arrival, the welcome center staff was less than inviting. We were there when the doors opened and were the only patrons in the building for 15 minutes. So being busy did not come into play with flatly ignoring some of our questions. Our tour guide truly made a difference. Engaging, funny, and educational, he transformed the tour into an informative journey. While waiting for my wife's orientation at Frontier University, I stumbled upon this gem through a quick Google search. Many bourbon places were closed, but luckily, this winery was open until 7 p.m. - just an 11-minute drive from the university. We honestly just chucked this up to be a funny story and an experience and although it was great hospitality and we did have a good time, we felt that it was false advertising and these tickets should have been 30.00 at best.
