Edited to add that the insinuation by this establishment that we allowed our child to run into the kitchen or other obvious or posted off limits area is absolutely appalling, quite alarming and 100% false. I would welcome any readers of this review who choose to visit the other establishments mentioned to ask if they remember a couple with a toddler visiting and I’m quite sure they will tell you how closely we monitored him and kept him from misbehaving or otherwise getting into anything or any location he should not be in. Of course not every winery is for every person, *however* reviews exist to share patron experiences and to serve as a “heads up” to others who may not like certain aspects of the reviewer’s experience. The only circumstance under which this winery will be visited by us again is if it changes ownership and/or management. Attempting to spread lies about customers is disgraceful.
“Silver Thread”? More like “Poop thread”! No, but in all seriousness, this place is getting one star for the young cashier/server who assisted us and two stars for the view. Otherwise, the wine was not very good and who we assume to be the proprietor (an older woman with completely gray hair), was passive aggressive about our toddler, who was energetic—as toddlers are—but was not screaming or otherwise causing a disturbance in an otherwise empty establishment. There was one other party who was seated outside, and then there was us, seated inside. We did not think our toddler would be a cause for concern considering the circumstances. Our first indication that it might not be a super friendly environment for us should have been that it isn’t a dog friendly establishment. If a winery is not dog friendly, you really shouldn’t be surprised if it’s also not kid friendly either. However, they don’t explicitly say “21+ only” or “no children, please”, so we were a bit put off to say the least. They were also pretty pricey…like $30 for a half baguette, a small sample of cheese and a chutney pricey. If you’re in the area, wanting a few options with good wine, or good views, or good vibes, or all of the above, then I would recommend Damiani, Idol Ridge or Lamoreaux in lieu of this winery.
