We were visiting from out of state and were recommended this park because of how unique and exciting it was. THAT IT WAS! we have never seen equipment like this! The concrete slide was fast and fun! (Too fast for littler kids… super fun for Mom- who actually fit!) The 3-4 story jungle gym was scary to my 7yo, who was afraid of falling through the rope gaps, but my 9yo loved it. The spinny things were fast and smooth. The new age teeter-totter was too enticing not to try out myself (even 70yo Nana gave it a whirl!) Kids loved it too. Overall, this park might be too advanced for kids under age 7 to explore on their own, but if you have kids 7+ it’s fun for the whole family! (Just don’t let them play unsupervised!) Also to note, plenty of parking and neighborhood felt safe. The only restrooms I noticed were porta-potties though.

The porta potty situation is great, if you’re waiting in line chances are you haven’t walked down far enough, plenty of places to go. The food and drink options are plentiful although there can be a 25-30min queue to order, the food is generally made quickly. The wait isn’t a big deal if you’re at a show with some artists you don’t care to see. Perfect time to refuel and rehydrate. Garbage and recycling is plentiful so it’s easy to conscious. Security and police are plentiful but unless you’re looking for trouble, everyone understands you’re here to have a great time. The grass at the main stage is perfect if you dance without shoes. There is nature around you with dragon flies zooming around. Ride share is a short walk away. The architecture is beautiful. The view from up there is amazing, it's under construction right now but the path they're building and the wall it's going to be absolutely amazing. The turf is lush and green. As all Denver parks it is well kept. There are plenty of mature trees with full foliage. It offers two softball parks and a dirt track for bicyclists. I was very impressed with the bicycle track. Beyond that it brings the community together plenty of open space as well as a child's playground. There is some type of pavilion here which I've never experienced. It's a relatively large park and I do believe they have a snowboard run during the winter months. Not just after it snows but, to the best of my knowledge, they actually produce their own snow to keep everybody moving down Ruby Hill. The other great thing about this spot are the views. I have watched fireworks from the top of the hill, over the Eastern part of the city. There is much open space at the park. I often see people with there dog taking a stroll. Lease is required. Ruby Hill definitely has a lot to offer. It's a beautiful park with a lot of space and plenty of views. Always family friendly. This is definitely a staple of the community. There were food trucks, vendor tents, plenty of port-a-potties and live music. We went on the second evening and by 6:30-7pm many of the port-a-potties were out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The was basins were empty too. Food trucks had a good selection of food and were quick. But you couldn’t hear any of the instructions or music from the event by the lake over by the park or food trucks so we completely missed the instructions that were given at 8pm as we were waiting on a food order. Overall experience was great. People were friendly and respectful. There were a lot of bugs out so was grateful we brought bug spray. Would recommend this event for families, date night and individual reflection. What a fun event!

The Sandy Creek exhibit was very powerful and a gut punch, especially once you read the letters of Federal officers who refused to participate and documented in detail the atrocities. The exhibits on Ute, Arapaho & Cheyenne peoples were written from the perspective of and curated by the native people and shared vibrant cultures and history. The exhibits on silver mining (recommend closing the sliding gates and experiencing the mine "elevator" as you enter this exhibit), Japanese internment (take a moment to sit in the cabin), a Black-American holiday resort and Colorado, especially Denver's, evolution and development were also fascinating.

The festival itself was Amazing! All of the bands were excellent. Minimal shade, no umbrellas or spray sunscreen allowed. I get extremely overheated quickly and normally use my UV protection umbrella but was not allowed to take it in. The entrance is located in the Performing Arts complex near the Boettcher Hall. We looked and googled in advance to find out what we could take into the venue and it would be nice if that information was easily accessible. Parking was $15.
