The park includes a tennis court, covered benches/tables, uncovered benches/tables, lots of grass area, a soccer area (no nets), giant pond home to the ducks and geese, big beautiful trees, a public pool, playground, and the library. The park has a trail around the perimeter for jogging, walking, or running, there's parking all around the park as well. We parked at the dog park nearby and walked in, but there are closer parking areas that you might want to check out. This coming October 2025, the biggest concert event of the year for the entire Sacramento County will be held at this park. There are a lot of picnic tables, restrooms albeit temporarily replaced with porta potties, barbecue grills, shades, and geese and blackberries!! It also has an archery range and boat ramps. There's lot of open spaces so it can be ideal for some holiday celebration like 4th of July independence. Some picnic tables are well shaded by trees. There's also the American River bike trail that passes through the park. On the downside, a freeway overpass/bridge cuts through the middle of the park so if you're in a nearby picnic table, the automobile noise can be quite audible and annoying. Lots of geese poops along the trail and the grass in the open area so be mindful of your steps. Homeless is another issue but these folks have been pushed away by the city many times specially in recent years and have been doing their best to stay out of sight. There are a few that keeps coming back and leaves quite an amount of trash along the bike trail across the river. A lot of homeless though keep to themselves and are non violent contrary to the stereotypes and are just going day to day to survive. Of course there's gonna be a few bad apples but only represents a very tiny fraction of the entire homeless community.

Our GPS took us the wrong way, we were supposed to turn left at the light with the burger restaurant. There was plenty of parking on the street next to the parking garage and at 1st you think, uh oh... but once you follow he path by the RiverWalk sign up to the actual walkway it opened up to a beautiful pathed path, trees, grassy areas, and the river was full of speed boats. People were walking and riding bikes, families and couple alike. There were lots of seals on the dock, turtles relaxing at the waters edge, and music from the boats to add yo the ambiance. The walk wasn't long, there's an upper trail that's paved and a lower trail that's more like dirt, we walked both. You can see the riverboat restaurant/ hotel, great views of the Golden Bridge and access to walk across the bridge and down towards restaurants. There was no trash, you can see where some improvement could be done but it was peaceful and welcoming all the same. Really glad we went and enjoyed ourselves!

We love this park and it's amenities every day and everyone should come and enjoy as well. Enjoy your well spent tax dollars here from 7am till dusk and just PLEASE keep it clean and safe for all to enjoy...it's not too hard with all of the trash cans and recycling bins throughout. Lastly, you could reserve a spot for a birthday party, family reunion, outdoor work event or whatever you want and check for upcoming events in the large recreation building. Lots of parking too! I honestly don't work here but just thought that I would let you all know of this little gem!
