The staff were so helpful in giving us ideas for what hikes to do. The boardwalk is so nice!! The kids had a great time! We loved seeing the birds and a lady came and spoke to the kids all about them and was so patient with their questions. We did not do the ropes course. It looked like it was well made and large, but couldn’t justify the really expensive price per person.

There are also a ton of waterfowl such as pelicans, geese, and ducks that call the lake and the surrounding park home. Additionally, you can see muskrats, rabbits, frogs, and other creatures. Though it requires a park pass, it's totally worth it (and it can be used at other great parks like Hitchcock). We've spent many wonderful hours here with our family; at the large picnic shelter (which you can reserve), watching the river flow, the boats pass by, and the airplanes take off and land right across the river at Eppley.
