The wait was fine, and we were glad we decided to go back. The docent was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. We really enjoyed the tour. There are many artifacts at the location to see and enjoy, including a replica of the bar, which was fascinating. I paid for the tour and we discussed basically the entire area, as well as toured the interior of George Washington's boyhood home. Being myself German it was very interesting to read some letters from 2nd WW soldiers to their spouses at home. How the single person experienced the war, especially when Hiroshima was atomized and a single soldier was just hoping the war ends so that he can get home to his loved ones. Overall the museum has its focus on civil war, great war, 2nd WW and it is well equipped with material for that. Aside from the exhibition of the wars, there was a exhibtion of the old bank and their equipment in the old times. I found that interesting, becuase I never thought about banking in the old times. In the upper floor are old posters from the 40s that I think pointing out the values that the society had and why it was worth to defend it. Its worth a visit.

Much of the battlefield is now a residential area. We visited this location in 2006 and took the tour. There are some fascinating artifacts inside, and the garden was fascinating to walk through as well. There is only one negative—not really enough to even take away a star—but during our tour, the docent mentioned that there was an item in the gift shop that had the recipe for Mrs. Washington's gingerbread.
