The lady in the shop in Holt was not helpful at all when we arrived on Monday May 19th. I’d visited the branch in Well-next-the-sea a couple of days before & they didn’t have the product I liked in there (the lady in the shop at Wells was exceptionally helpful) & she checked & said the nearest branch in Holt had the product I was looking for. Upon arrival there was no greeting & when I asked if I could try the body lotion to see if it was the one I was looking for, she said she only had 3 of them left & couldn’t let me try it but I could “get the smell from the deodorant” I asked about a couple of other products & she said “if there’s a tester you can try it, but if there isn’t a tester, you can’t!!!” She wasn’t helpful, engaging or professional at all & didn’t seem to want to help. There was another couple in the shop at the same time that had a baby in a pappousse & the parent rolled hers eyes at me when we walked out of the shop & said “we’ll, she wasn’t at all helpful & wont sell much with that attitude!” However, we then went to the perfumery two doors down & an immaculately well dressed man couldn’t have been more helpful. He engaged with us straight away & was so willing to talk to us about the products & let us try anything we wanted. He asked us if we were staying locally & just generally was interested in who we were. I did buy some body lotion from him. He was the epitome of what I thought your business & product is all about, so it hasn’t put me off, because I think maybe the woman was just not “customer friendly” & maybe needs a bit more training? Holt itself is a fabulous place to visit with lots of independant little shops & cafes. We loved it.
