We ordered several different items. The place has real dark lighting and there was one server on a Friday afternoon. I guess this is a Mexican - Italian fusion menu which seems eclectic but kind of misses. They were out of one appetizer and substituted sausage. The sauce was good for that. We tried cactus soup and it was different. The Caesar salad was just ok. We ordered the stuffed pepper and chicken with the green pumpkin seed sauce. The stuffed pepper entree was one pepper with rice and beans. They use black beans which was actually our favorite thing here. The chicken with green sauce seemed like it was reheated, precooked chicken with the sauce over it. The sauce was different and I liked that but I couldn't get past the pre cooked chicken. We also tried tiramisu and lemon cake. Both of those were not cold and they should've been. Especially the tiramisu. It seemed like they were sitting out and I was a little skeptical about eating that based on the temp. The chips and salsa were pretty good though. Our server was very engaging in the beginning but she was alone and it got busy so service fell off a little in the middle of our meal. We spent a lot of time needing to fan ourselves with the menu. There was a window right behind us that looked like it could have been opened but nobody seemed to acknowledge it wasntoo hot. Other customers avtually said "yea it's hot in here". Our first drinks were great! Well done! Unfortunately it went downhill from here. We often ran out of water. Being hot this was unpleasant and sitting at the bar this was rather confusing. You often get top notch service from the bar area. We ordered all the sliders. The crab salad sliders were good...but maybe seemed overpriced for how much you got. The pork belly sliders were very good and priced more reasonable. The cold carrots were more spicy than flavorful...which I like but my wife does not. We ordered a sage gin drink and it just tasted like a gin and tonic. No other flavors at all. Needed to ask for the bill twice and then we then had to wait to pay which honestly is the part customers should not have to sot and wait for a long time. Our bartender dropped off the bill and then disappeared. We had to flag someone down to pay after waiting. Overall not a great visit for us. The first two drinks were the best thing but not enough to offset the rest of our experience.

The restaurant underwent a renovation and they did a nice job. The courtyard area is beautiful even with the road noise. The food is good but there is definitely an aftertaste I noticed with the food. It may have been the cheesy oil they serve with bread. For an Italian restaurant, the bread was a huge disappointment. Especially the aftertaste. The pasta dishes were very tasty and good portion sizes. The artichoke appetizer was very good. There are some major down sides to the experience. We waited 25 minutes to order and had to ask to order. They said it was a miscommunication but honestly they should have checked back in on us sooner than I had to ask for help after 20 minutes and it delayed our evening activities. Also, I understand they need to park your vehicle because of the limited parking but a $10 parking fee that also suggests tips on top of it is not good customer service and would keep me from frequenting this restaurant which is just a mile or so from our home. Personally, I feel that if you have not been here, definitely have the experience of dining there but I do think they should re-evaluate the customer service aspects overall. The wait staff was kind for the most part and when they realized their mistake, they apologized.

For you're going to charge 350 for two meals and an appetizer make sure the quality of the food matches the price. Also, my 4 scallops were so overcooked that they were burnt and chewy. They were also the size of a quarter and wanted to charge 50 dollars for them. I will never go back again!! This restaurant is also in the hood. I picked this restaurant because I thought it was going to be authentic Italian and IT IS NOT. I came to celebrate my girlfriend birthday. They started us off with cold bread, a 1st for me. We then ordered scallops, they were over cooked and small but I liked the taste of them. Furthermore, one of my scallops was broken or missing. My girlfriend ordered a platter that included lamp chops, salmon, a few shrimp, mashed potatoes, and asparagus that was $125. Her platter was not worth $125, if everything wasn’t overcooked I think they could’ve gotten away with it. I seen a picture of someone mashed potatoes in the reviews and they look nothing like ours did. She had to send her lamb chops back 3 different times, and the last time they took them away and offered to desert in place of it. Which I feel she should have been getting anyways for her birthday for free. This is how I felt before seeing the ticket. I got pasta with steak cooked medium and shrimp as my protein. The steak was well done, had to send it back although I didn’t want to. The new steak bites came back med rare, but I knew I was going to put them in the microwave when I got home to cook them up. But for $70 pasta, it should have been done correctly the first time. If I had known the price prior, I would’ve sent it back, along with the salmon and scallops. The server was great, she along with other great front of the house staff apologized for the mistakes. Also, my first choice was going to be the lasagna, but the couple beside me had plastic wrap in the lasagna and it wasn’t a small piece. Very long plastic that could’ve potentially choked him. To top that situation off, the chef sent the server to apologize. I didn’t see a manager or chef the entire stay. Nothing on the actual menu was very expensive, but the featured items are very overpriced and I’ve been to many fine dining places with top notch service. Nothing special was done for my gf for her birthday, every fine dining restaurant I’ve celebrated at always give a birthday card with confetti on the table, but not this restaurant. The server did not ask if we were celebrating anything. The host had an open bottle at the host stand, and answered the phone for add on guest in the dining room which is unacceptable in fine dining. The only things worth the price on my tab was my lemon drop, and the tip, which was already included, but I didn’t see that anywhere on the menu or etc. If this is going to be a fine dining restaurant, the whole place needs to be evaluated. Even the small things like the salad forks were never removed although we didn’t order a salad. I won’t be back, and will be telling others I know not to even give this place a try. Not because of the mistakes cause things happen but because how it was handled.

I made a reservation stating it was my birthday and the staff accommodated me despite my incorrect selection of seating which required them to contact me. From the house made bread, cucamelon and tomato salad to the 5 courses + additional complementary dish, I can't complain. The taste and presentation was perfect. The vibe of the place was very calm and welcoming, dimly lit, with a great record selection playing in the background. Despite it being cozy and romantic, I didn't feel awkward being alone and in smart casual attire. Only negative I have is they aren't located near me.

Obviously what I paid was steep but it was worth the money. This is one of 3 or 4 club experiences offered for Redwings games. When looking at the menu it moves from light to heaviest as you go down the list. We were a group of three and ordered a total of 8 plates, and it was too much food. We all ordered drinks. I highly recommend this salad. It was so lovely and my favorite dish of the whole meal. Smoked Fish Cakes: as someone who is not a huge fish fan these were made very well. Seasoned well and I like that they were not a heavy coated and deep fried cake. Fried Potato Salad: this was my least favorite menu item. I felt as though the flavors all together didn’t work great. It felt like a lot and a bit heavy. Pork Belly: this was an interesting take on spices and flavors. It was an overall interesting combination that works well. The pork belly itself was cooked very well. It was delicious. Goat Confit: I wish I had liked this more. The goat was fried and a bit too crispy for my liking. I might not order it again, but it was worth trying. Amish Chicken: The onion jam was a bit salty for me. The chicken itself was good well but heavily coated in spice. The spatzle was good. While this was pretty neat, again there were signs of needing maintenance. Hosts were able to seat us an hour early at 8pm, great table too. Our server was eager but needs a bit of work on table side timing. Courses: Coffee service (5/5) Expresso was what we needed and what we got. Top tier... Beef Carpacio (5/5) Very light almost floral/citrus hints. The cheese contributed a nuttiness without adding any heaviness. Carbonara (3/5) A reimagining of the classic Lazio dish. This is more like a Cacio e Pepe with guanciale. Pasta was too aldente and it was oddly served room temperature. I couldn't really figure out if egg yolks were used in the sauce. It just fell short texture wise. Manzo (3/5) I just expected more from a $100 24 oz bone in ribeye. Butchering was poor, very very large pieces of fat remained. I actually found the steak to be tough which was also disappointing given the kitchen's reputation. The cook plus sauce were great but for the price point service with a few mushrooms and onions also fell short. The dish needs work, a bit of reimagining. Great concept but push it a bit to find that excellence you're seeking. Overall I think a 3.5 of 5 is fair. You're going to have a great time and feel all of the Neuveaux Detroit vibes in this space. It's a great Friday or Saturday night reservation and I'll be back to explore other parts of the menu.
