The museum shares a rich history about the place. The ticket was 12.5$ per adult and 10$ concession.
The mangrove walk is SO BEAUTIFUL, definitely a MUST VISIT in Jervis bay. So relaxing, and the place has a ramp for kayaking. The walk itself is very short.

Love the old ferry that people helped restore. Its massive and warms my heart that places like these are kept for the public. This was a lovely activity to come to, filled with plenty of pure plantation and nature- both exotic and indigenous. They have a section inside the museum dedicated to indigenous art and in depth lore of their craftsmanship and dotted art.
One of the many impressive things of the Muesuem was the sizeable showcase of one of the Sister Cruises including documentation of the series, detailing the manual process of operating the system, further detailing the destruction and many accidents related to it.
This was a definite muesuem experience out of many, I highly recommend giving this one a visit!

Upon entry staff was extremely friendly, easy going, and provided ample information about the museum/ surrounding areas. One of ladies that was volunteering, Sal made us feel especially welcomed. She was a gem! Museum was tidy with a wide range of information about the history of boating/ ships around Jervis Bay. The mangrove boardwalk was extremely beautiful. A must see.

Very good family level camping in the south coast. Good access to beautiful white sandy Hyams beach. Few minutes drive to Huskisson. This is an easy level camping, you can take the family and the kids here, Hell!, even grandma can come. Comes with heated water, good toilet and washing facilities. Safe, fires only on designated spots though. The rangers come and do their rounds from time to time. Not sure if they really check number of cars or if they are registered on booking. Comes with a bit of a price and for good reason. Lots of wildlife in the campgrounds, wallabies, kangaroos, possums and kookaburras. There are plenty of good hikes around as well.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Green Patch camp site at Booderee National Park. We have to say that for the exorbitant fees we paid for the drive in, no power site we were extremely disappointed.
The park is beautiful, no doubt, but the facilities were poor and dirty.
The showers require you to push a button every 10 or so seconds which is rediculous and unworkable. The floors in the amenities look like they haven't been cleaned in many moons. We saw some young men go in to clean the amenities one day and were out in 15 minutes. There was actually no change in the cleanliness. i.e they did no or only token cleaning. There is simply not enough cubicles and urinals to support the size of the camp. It definitely seems as though the camp is designed for form not function.
On top of this we were told there was a faucet available to fill up our offline van during our stay. We found a faucet with no handle and even after requesting the handle from a ranger nothing happened.
The other disconcerting thing in the park is the sheer volume of signs related to paying park fees .. they are literally everywhere and ruin the whole natural experience.
In our opinion the park has been turned into a purely money making exercise with little no thought of the user experience. The management and the costs of the park needs urgent review as they do not in any way represent a good experience or good value.
This is quite distinct from other NSW Parks we visited during our trip (i.e Warrunbungles National Park) which were beautiful and very well maintained and managed at one sixth the price.

We joined a dolphin-watching cruise in Jervis Bay and while we didn’t spot any dolphins during the actual cruise, we were lucky to see one near the jetty just before boarding—which was still a nice surprise!
The crew were friendly and knowledgeable, and the boat ride itself was relaxing with beautiful views of the bay. Even without many dolphins, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon on the water. Would definitely try again—nature doesn’t always follow the schedule!

Crew is amazing and the tour was great. The crew are so caring, constantly asking how their guests are and ensuring that they could see the dolphins swimming near the boat. The tour purposefully and respectfully finds and follows the dolphins to allow everyone a great experience. We had such a good time that we also booked the whale watching tour a few days later. Had the most fantastic dolphin watch trip. We saw 20+ dolphins including a really tiny young one - so cute! The skipper and crew were awesome and we were viewing dolphins for most of the 90 minutes. JB is indeed a special place and I would highly recommend this cruise to everyone.

This is a fantastic little beach in a small sheltered part of Jervis Bay.
A smaller beach with trees offering shade on the beach.
As with other beaches in Jervis Bay, the water is incredibly clear and quite warm. The beach itself is made up of beautiful fine white sand

Nice beach with lots of things to see. You can walk the promenade with a monument of falen soldiers. Very interesting and beautiful made, it has the shape of a ship when you look closely. You can book a mini 'cruise' that brings you to 2 places in the harbour region. They have sparkling wines and cheese on board. What's not to like. ;-) You can also walk the beach for a long way, you can come back over the footpath if you like. In the evening there is the main street with al the bars and restaurants. Good food!

A nice stroll right next to the maritime museum. It's a great little walk that only takes 15-30 mins depending how much time you want to spend. What we liked about this walk is it changes with the tide. You'll see heaps of little mangrove crabs when the tide is out or when the tide is up you will see little fish darting through the mangrove roots when the notice you. At the end of the boardwalk there is a little viewing platform with a bench. During our stay we have been here several times just because of the changes the tide brings

A short and easy walk along the wooden boardwalk that is open for all ages and abilities. It’s kept in great condition and is suitable for pram use and those unsteady on their feet.
The walk leads to a platform that opens to Currumbine Creek where you can watch the watercraft and sea life.
Walk amongst the mangroves and let the kids have fun spotting the tiny crabs below as they sense your presence and scurry back into their holes in the sand.
There is seating along the way for tired little legs to rest but if yours are like mine, they’ll run the whole way 😆

I didn’t have any of the hot food, I just went in last week to grab a chocolate eclair, which had fresh cream in it and was tasty, would love to see the option of custard and cream in an eclair like they do up here in Sydney, and or a chocolate cream inside which is super delicious when you get one done up here in Sydney.
I was going to go in for a vanilla slice but noticed the tops of them didn’t have the passion fruit glaze that I love on the top of mine, so that’s why I bought a chocolate eclair instead.

We stayed on one of the drive through sites. Easy to access, close to amenities. Park is clean and well kept. Amazing location, short walk to main street and right on the beach. We stayed in a waterfront cabin at Tasman Holiday Park Jervis Bay and the view was absolutely stunning. The villa was spotless — so clean, modern, and comfortable. The whole park is beautifully maintained, tidy, and peaceful. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A small park but beautifully set out and super clean. Plenty of cabins which looked fairly new. Hubby loved the pool and made good use of it during our stay. Jervis Bay holiday Park was pretty nice. Our cabin had a great view onto the river. There was a pool which was super cold and the spa was also cold. The playground was nice but the slide was very slow. The spa in the cabin was really nice but the shower was slippery. Room was pretty nice just your average cabin. There was also kids buggys but they were a little pricey. Location wasn't the greatest but it was ok. About 5 mins away from main town. Overall pretty good caravan park.

Could not fit my car in parking space provided.
Next small children riding bikes around the car while I was trying to park in. We told them 3 times to please stop until we parked but to no avail.
Then the tent itself.
No lock of any kind on door so did not feel safe leaving out goods in tent while exploring the areas, and what was worse no lock to feel safe sleeping at night.
Then we were asked to strip the bed before we left in morning.
The bathroom door would not slide across so no privacy to use the bathroom.
The park was nice looking. But that was it. Could have stayed in 4 star motel in Hiskisson for less.
Also the tent was white so all lights in night came straight in the tent and all noise.

Beautiful beach to spend the day at. There's no current or waves since its kind of like a bay which makes it quite safe for kids. There's a park right next to the beach and the parking is so accessible!!! Also you can jump off the bridge nearby, go kayaking down the stream and even SUP around the beach.

Wonderful area with facilities but especially the opening of Moona Moona River onto Collingwood Beach. This is a generally safe (children require supervision) intertidal area with the fresh and sparkling clean water of the river interacting with the sea. A great place to explore, splash about and build sand castles. It's great as no dogs, no camping, and no bikes or vehicles. The grassed area on the north side is shady and protected from the wind. Or spread a towel on the sandy southern bank. Something for everyone but especially good for families.

Iluka Beach is located between Captains Beach and Greenpatch inside Booderee National Park. It is iconic for its unspoilt bushland and crystal blue water. Iluka beach is next level take-your-breath-away beautiful. You enter through @seebooderee national park. It’s lush, fertile and green, so when you get your first diamond-shaped glimpse of aquamarine sea it’s like a mirage. A quick walk through the trees to the powdery white sand and your feet are almost in the waters of Jervis Bay. Unlike the more famous neighbour, Hyams Beach, Iluka is sparsely populated with people and without any millionaire mansions in sight. If you can ignore a little camping infrastructure up the way at Green Patch and the naval warships looming in the bay, it’s pretty much as nature intended it to be. We even saw dolphins cruising for snacks along the drop-off. This one is a beauty.

Beautiful spot. We went here when Hyams filled up. You'll need to pay to get into the national park. $13 for a 2-day pass (Jan 2024). There are toilets down the north end. There's not much parking.
Watch out for the giant red bull ants. They are aggressive and give a nasty sting/bite.
Apart from that the sand is beautiful, white and soft. The waves are small which is great for kids. There's no shops so pack your own food and drink.
I'd recommend packing a shade tent/umbrella. I wouldn't recommend sitting near the bush/trees due to the ants.

Jervis Bay is a national park. Expected to visit the seaside but without doing any foreward planning or research, arrived to find out it's a national park and as most don't allow dogs, we headed back to Huskisson as we had our dogs. Was a gorgeous day for a visit and probably deserves a 5 star so I highly recommend that you do your research first.
