I bought a sampling of IPA’s to try while sitting around the fire with/and for my friends, their selection was large and varied. I highly suggest grabbing a post card and utilizing the Big Sur Post Office located next store. It’s a classy move and it costs under a dollar to make someone’s day. The bakery's warm, cozy interior with wooden furnishings and a welcoming fireplace creates a delightful atmosphere. The staff at Big Sur Bakery were very friendly and definitely helped us with our questions with the menu. It was very foggy out early morning and there were some rock slides going on in the area. We originally went to check out the trail across from the Julia Pheiffer Burns State Park, but it was closed. The room was very large with a separate bedroom, sofa, dining table and patio. However, carpet was filthy with large stains. Room is half carpet half vinyl. Don't walk barefoot or your feet will be brown. Loved having a kettle, mini fridge, good coffee and tea but def needs a small microwave. Be prepared for a loud wall heater. All sorts of racket at start up but thankfully gets quiet once it's going. It's a beautiful park and that is the only reason to stay here...that and you get access to two other parks as well. The price is outrageous for the room quality, in my opinion. I know I'm in the forest here but a deep clean interval should be on the regular maintenance schedule. Shabby maintenance in shower area with poor water pressure. The staff were spectacular all the way around!!

Stunning location set in a quite redwood conservation area, with numerous trails and walks of various difficulties. Tried both the Pfieffer Falls and Canyon Views walks. Both achievable but can be steep and rugged in places. However once at the end either Stunning waterfall or views. Lodge where we stayed was comfortable, clean with a balcony looking into the forest. The main lodge had everything you'd need. Shop bar and restaurant with friendly staff who would assist you with any enquiries. The food was fresh and very delicious. Other areas include a swimming pool which was refreshing at 7pm (open 9am-9pm) looking upwards at the clear sky surrounded by trees. 100% satisfaction in staying here and highly recommended.

All my stuff have a cover but rats are just there the whole night(come in and out all the time) and make you unable to sleep. And the rats just shit everywhere! I know it is normal to see animals because it is in the forest but the tent provider should make sure no animal should be able to go inside the tent! Or at least have a bear box that can lock stuff in it. Nope, there is nothing in this campground and you cannot avoid seeing rats or animals in your tent. I reported this to the management team and they said they will “TRY TO address this issue, TRY TO improve the situation, TRY TO refund me on my stay”, and I have been contacting them daily regarding this and there is no action item nor refund, they just keep saying “I’m sorry about this but I know nothing about this, let me transfer you to my colleague” and I feel like I am a ball being kick around. I do prefer the redwood cabins over the canyon glamping experience. I am a person who has to make multiple trips to haul their stuff up to the site. It is a hike to get into that site. I was lucky enough to stay in the same Canyon cabin that I stayed at during my first visit. When I first came there were restrooms and more amenities. There was a convenience to the canyon cabins. Each year I have come here the amenities have decreased. Most recently all the restrooms were removed. Meaning, if you needed to use the restroom you would have to hike down for 5 mins to get to the bath house. As a woman this is a disservice to us all, especially for someone who may need to use the restroom at any given point at night. And it is pitch black at 5:30PM. Walking down a dirt and loose graveled ground in the dark with even a lantern is not ideal nor comfortable. This is where the glamping was non existent. Additionally the surf stream was not open once during my stay. The towels given to me during the stay as well were stained and had brown markings on them. This was never an issue prior. I loved coming here, but I am reluctant to book another stay.

It is alot smaller than Piffer State Park but since the size there wasn't alot of traffic. Our campsite #3 was perfect, across from the very clean bath house and restrooms. You need tokens for shower, there's a token ($2 /5 min.) machine outside of bathhouse or you can purchase at front gate along with ice & firewood. #3 was next to creek, very shady site with two picnic tables. Beautiful blue birds came around. I was bummed that the Airstream Cafe was always closed the two days we stayed. We were told they were open until 8pm. Hiked up to see and cafe was closed. I guess it is tree trimming time because you can hear that all day. Location not to far from many trails, restaurants, the beach.

It may depend though on the accommodations -- if you can swing it, I would highly recommend splurging for one of the Pointe Houses or similar. The time between courses felt a little too long. Overall the meal was completely overpriced for what was served and nothing was outstanding as one would hope for a $300 lunch. There is no TV or radio no amenities close by. The restaurant is closed in the afternoon. this is just a place to spend the night but not really enjoy your vacation because you have to drive out to dine or to hike or to go to the beach.. it’s very sad that such a beautiful location doesn’t have enough to offer

The Taphouse is half restaurant and half convenience store. It was pretty cool looking around the store while waiting for our food to come out. We didn't know you could camp there - there are designated camping spots. At the entrance there are plaques that tell you the dangers (poison ivy, rattlesnakes etc...) with diagrams. The trails are marked - though the trail for the waterfalls is a little confusing. For the waterfall, you have to walk over what looks like fallen logs to cross over to continue the trail - we did not do that. But, we did follow the trail all the way to the limekiln and that was beautiful. There is a wonderful stream throughout the woods that you can follow as well. While our entire meal is complimentary as we were staying at the resort, they do offer the menu items for paying guests not staying at the resort. Ordered a barista made mocha with oat milk which was quite delicious and well made. Ordered the organic green salad with brisket, half rack of ribs, collard greens as a side and bread pudding. Salad was good with fresh ingredients although nothing special. The shaved Manchego cheese was tasty though. The brisket however was quite delicious. Fatty portion was very tender although portions weren't that large. Lean portion was not dry or tough. Half rack of ribs were tasty as well especially as a departure from the usual lunch options available on-site for resort guests. Sauces were delicious. Collard green was nice as a side with authentic vinegar heavy undertones while being tender with some ham hock pieces. Bread pudding took some time to reheat and bring out but it was tasty as well. While taste was relatively good, it wasn't necessarily a great value although you don't have many food options in this part of town. This meal for paying customers would have been $70 which seemed a little high for the portions you'd be receiving. As a complimentary meal for resort guests, this is a no brainer and the food is a nice departure from the usual on-site dining options which don't change over the course of the stay.

The snake and myself both got quite the fright. The trees were massive and amazing. The sun shining through the forest was beautiful. It was hot!!! Very very hot.
